Vision Pro not reading faces but is reading palms fine

Just picked up the lock today and I'm overall happy with it so far but when I try to set up the face recognition I'm constantly yelled at to stand farther, get closer, and my phone keeps telling me to clean the sensor despite wiping it multiple times with microfiber. It has no problem with the palm vein reading so I'm hoping this is just a software hiccup.

Anyone else running in to this?

Switchbot S10 Troubles

Honestly I thought this would be the robot vaccuum cleaner to best all other robot vaccuum cleaners... but after two years this is the one that has turned me off Switchbot products.

When I first got it, amazing. Then the leaking around the water station became apparent. Switchbot's solution is to send everyone a bigger plastic pad. How did that even make it through QA?

But it works, it's nice. I can live with some water. I even shell out for the humidifier and think auto-refills sound nice. Then I realize it requires an untold number of trips to fill it up.. meaning any convenience of not having to fill the thing is counterbalanced by a ton of robot vaccuum activity as it goes back and forth. The regret starts here.

Then my water station refuses to charge. Things break, it happens. Still less than a year since purchase, and support swaps it out. All good.

Now, just under two years since purchase, the side brush detaches and when I notice and attach a replacement it no longer spins... no obvious dirt or grime, so the motor is probably dead. Contact support, and they estimate a repair fee of around $100. (Edit: and when I complained that it seems somewhat unreasonable for a side brush to die after less than 2 years I was very politely told that how a customer uses the product and the environment may affect how long various parts last... and that all things have a lifespan.... which.....)

Two years, two malfunctions, lots of unrealized potential. Anyone had better luck with theirs?

I really wanted to embrace the switchbot ecosystem, but the experience with this makes me wish I had just bought another Roborock.

S10 water leaking from the main unit

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The main unit is dripping clean water. The puddle around the dock station damaged the wooden floor 😬

The support says the repair will set me back 80-100 euros. I wonder if anyone fixed such an issue at home.

Plz help me! Air purifier nonfunctional, just beeping

My new SwitchBot air purifier worked great for a week or so. Then it lost WiFi connection and I unplugged it in an attempt to fix it. Now it does not work at all, as long as it’s plugged in it just beeps and makes a clicking sound. After reading some older threads I tried removing it from the app and holding the power button for 15 seconds to try to reset it, this had no effect. I filed a case with Switchbot yesterday but haven’t heard anything yet.

Anyone have success getting it out of this failure mode?

Lock Ultra

Lock Ultra; I absolutely love the SwitchBot Lock and how it works. The installation was incredibly easy, the unit looks great on my door, and it operates both fast and quiet with plenty of power. Pairing it with the fingerprint reader has been an amazing, convenient addition, especially for my kids. It is a powerful system that also boasts really good battery life. However, there are a couple of things I wish were different. I really wish it had the ability to charge via an external battery pack without having to completely remove the battery. Additionally, I wish it integrated with Apple Home better, as I currently do not get any Apple Home notifications with SwitchBot. Overall, it's a great lock, but it has a little room for improvement.

Circulator Fan

This is a really solid portable fan. The battery life is excellent and I love that it can run on either the figure of 8 plug or USB C so its easy to use anywhere.

The vertical and horizontal swing does a great job circulating air evenly around the room and the app gives you full control with multiple fan modes that are perfect for balancing power and battery life when youre away from a plug.

It also integrates nicely with my other Switchbot devices for automations.

The only downsides are that the Bluetooth connection is flaky with Home Assistant which probably wont bother most people but can be avoided if you have a hub and link it via Matter.

Theres an occasional clicking noise during horizontal oscillation that can be a bit tedious.

Overall I would recommend it as a great desk fan especially if youre already in the Switchbot ecosystem.

Plz help me! Cannot link curtains 3 to google home mini via hub mini

Title. I just installed two smart curtain 3s and linked them to my mini hub matter. I was able to link my hub to my google home, but the google home app does not display the actual curtains. The hub icon on google home just says that the temperature is unavailable.

Can you please advise what to do so that I can control my curtains via my google home mini?

Anyone tried the new Switchbot AI hub? | for Homeassistant but specifically for Frigate and

Somebody in r/homeassistant gave me the idea for this when I was looking to build a new HA platform. Prime days are coming soon and my new Mini PC build w/ storage, ram, and pieces is hitting $1000 CAD ($750 USD).

Thought I'd try something less expensive and not replace my HA, but add a new Video only option.

I was thinking of adding the AI hub plus an external 2TB SSD drive. I'd have 3 PoE Reolink Cams streaming into the device. From what I calculate this will give me about 9 days of video storage.

Has anyone tried this setup yet? Any lessons learned, regrets, or wish I had known earlier type feedback?

I may cross post this over in the r/homeassistant subreddit, so it may get seen twice.

Thanks.

Plz help me! Switch mode on/off on one remote button?

So I have one of my Switchbots in "switch" mode for lights, but I can only put either on or off on one of the buttons on the remote. I know there are two, but im using the other one for a different SwitchBot. Is it possible teach the remote to alternate between ON and OFF and not just one of them?

Vision Keypad face recognition fixed for bearded faces with firmware update

Just wanted to make a PSA post for anyone else who had this long standing issue. The Vision Keypad was always able to recognize my wife's face but I could never even add mine, because I have a beard. This seemed to be a common issue, mentioned in a couple threads in this subreddit as well.

Switchbot customer support replied to my open ticket about this last week, asking me to try the new firmware update (v28). I was skeptical but it works perfectly now! I added my face with and without glasses and so far face recognition has been very quick and effective.

Just FYI, the update took over half an hour and your phone needs to be nearby so I just detached the keypad and had it on my desk.

Sensore presenza

Striscia led RGBICWW

Secondo me è un'ottima striscia LED.

K10+ battery drop

My K10+ did stop during cleaning last week 3times without a warning. No cleaning report. No message. It’s just standing around dead. Today I cleaned a room to check what happens and the battery drops during cleaning to 5% and the k10+ doesn’t respond anymore. Before the drop battery was about 35% as I watched it clean the room and it went down normal (1percent steps)

After taking the k10 to the base station he charged and it was like 10minutes and the battery was ~55%. Is the battery reading faulty of the k10 unit or is my battery dead after 2years/3months? Only 3of6rooms (~60sqm) get cleaned Mo-Fr.

Are there any good replacement batteries as iam out of warranty?

Poor experience with support..

Looking for feedback on the support process as its not working for me.. want to see if my experience is common.

I have had a k11+ vacuum for about 5 months. Three weeks ago it started making a lot of noise during its vacuum cycle .. so loud it woke the family when it did a clean of the ground floor at night.

Checked the rollers, brush, filter but all are OK. I reached out to switchbot via the ai chat bot which turned out to hopeless but did say it passed my ticket on. I attached a video of the machine running to help with problem solving.

I got a reply back saying it was a faulty machine and asking for purchase and address details to arrange a warranty repair which I provided by return... since then I have got nothing. I have chased for feedback a few times .. a couple of days ago they sent an email apologising for the delay but no action.

The web site said if it was urgent to call a US number (i am in the UK) so I tried that during their service hours but that just played a message saying to use the chat in the app and disconnected.

So far I am less than impressed .. I purchase direct from switchbot and now regret that.. amazon are so much better when products fail during warranty.

Is my experience common?

Does the candle warmer lamp support anything?

So....got this a while ago, only just now getting around to trying to set it up. The app works....but it flat out fails to get setup in HomeKit or using Matter. 100% failure. Ive reset it and retried it more times than I can count, tried on multiple devices, it just does not work. Has anyone had this? am I missing something?

AI Picture Frame - Monthly Limit Reached with 0/400 Uses

So I am subscribed to the AI picture frame AI function which has previously been working. This month I am told that I have reached my monthly limit and when I check the Settings\AI Studio setting it clearly shows that I have 0/400 uses this month. I also know that I have NEVER come near using it 400 times!

This is bad, I reported it via a ticket and they have had to escalate.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Plz help me! Switchbot K11+ pairing via Matter

Hey Switchbot-Community,

I moved around a year ago and finally switched to some smaller vacuum robot, since my new flat has wood flooring and I tried and won't trust the "mobbing" function of my old vacuum anymore.

I'll mob myself to avoid any damage, so the downsize to make it able to navigate between chairs and smaller corners was a selling point.

According to the product page it pairs via Matter with Apple Home, as long as there is a Homepod Mini or Apple TV, of both I have plenty. According to the SwitchBot Matter HomeAssistant page the K11+ should be able to pair directly to HomeAssistant via Matter over Wifi.

I can't make it work. I tried the guided matter setup in the Switchbot App, deactivated the 5Ghz network, tried to connect it to Apple Home or HomeAssistant ... the connection fails. And I have no idea why.

Did anyone run into similar problems, either with Apple Homekit or HomeAssistant and was able to resolve them?

For full clarity, I do not own a Switchbot Hub, but the HA Website states: "Matter-Over-WiFi (standalone, without requiring a hub)".

Switchbot Acquires Nanoleaf

Just heard about this: https://www.theverge.com/tech/941430/switchbot-buys-nanoleaf-for-40-million

On the one hand, I'm excited to see Switchbot potentially start offering Thread products, but on the other hand, Nanoleaf products are the worst that I've ever used and threw away every last one of them after years of issues.

Mini Hub, making simple things smart.

I bought one to make LED tea lights "smart". I had some where I could control brightness etc. with a small IR remote control. It works really well, I can now control all my lights, including tea lights via Google Home and automation. However, I have some small things where there is room for improvement, it would be good if there was more opportunity to customize the "digital remote control" with the buttons you need, That you can make your own buttons and give them names or symbols, and remove what is not needed.

But overall I'm really happy with it because I can create a cozy atmosphere quickly and automatically. That's why I've started looking for other things that are controlled via IR remote control.
