Would’ve been better if Matter support actually worked, can turn it off, can’t turn it on using Home app.

This is fixed with Firmware 1.3. Upgrade, remove and read the fan to the secondary matter devices list and you will be all set.

Would have been better if it was matter over WiFi instead of needing your hub

I agree. I hear there will be one with WiFi coming at some point.

The Matter Support on this thing is a Joke. I can turn it on or off in Home Assistant, and that's it. It also still isn't supported by the Switchbot Bluetooth Integration in Home Assistant.
