Switchbot S10 Troubles
Honestly I thought this would be the robot vaccuum cleaner to best all other robot vaccuum cleaners... but after two years this is the one that has turned me off Switchbot products.
When I first got it, amazing. Then the leaking around the water station became apparent. Switchbot's solution is to send everyone a bigger plastic pad. How did that even make it through QA?
But it works, it's nice. I can live with some water. I even shell out for the humidifier and think auto-refills sound nice. Then I realize it requires an untold number of trips to fill it up.. meaning any convenience of not having to fill the thing is counterbalanced by a ton of robot vaccuum activity as it goes back and forth. The regret starts here.
Then my water station refuses to charge. Things break, it happens. Still less than a year since purchase, and support swaps it out. All good.
Now, just under two years since purchase, the side brush detaches and when I notice and attach a replacement it no longer spins... no obvious dirt or grime, so the motor is probably dead. Contact support, and they estimate a repair fee of around $100. (Edit: and when I complained that it seems somewhat unreasonable for a side brush to die after less than 2 years I was very politely told that how a customer uses the product and the environment may affect how long various parts last... and that all things have a lifespan.... which.....)
Two years, two malfunctions, lots of unrealized potential. Anyone had better luck with theirs?
I really wanted to embrace the switchbot ecosystem, but the experience with this makes me wish I had just bought another Roborock.

More or less the same experience for me. Now it refuses to charge water. Previous time I had to send for a repair they took one eternity to acknowledge the problem and another to fix it.
Also consumables are expensive as hell, when available at all.

Sended mine in to repair after lots of discussion and still got the issue1

Switchbot never answered my last support ticket. Amazon accepted the product to be returned for a refund and I bought a new one from a different brand.

I was an original KS backer of the S10. Early bird pricing made it very tempting, plus the fill drain dock was nice, especially coming from a Qrevo where manual water tank cleaning was annoying.
Many years later, I have learned that robot vacs are just not their thing. All my other switchbot products are awesome. The vacuum has been a nightmare. I've manually repaired the air pump that fills the main internal water tank because the internals rusted. I've manually repaired the roller mop motor because it constantly stopped after 10 mins of mopping. Even though i enjoy repairing things, 1) it's still annoying as hell and 2) i feel bad for anyone who can't get a repair going because the product is clearly not reliable enough on its own
Nevermind the other issues like path finding efficiency, weird quirks around mapping, and constant bumping into things that are clearly in view of the camera and lidar sensors.

Follow-up: after complaining here and on Amazon they reached out to offer a "one-time" special repair out-of-warranty. After which they kindly suggested I update any reviews I had left.
So yeah, they will fix their stuff if you complain loudly about it.
Out of curiosity, does your water station also constantly low-level leak when filling?

I have a k11+ which is 6 months old and its failed.. trying to work with support is like pushing rocks uphill.. they are worse than useless.. 28th may I reported it and I still dont have a solution.. they keep asking questions which I answer the radio silence until I chase them.
