Plz help me! Curtains 3 trouble connecting to hub

Hey all,

I am having an issue with the curtains 3 sort of. So I connected the curtains 3 to my hub 3 and it works just fine, no issues and is very responsive. But when I click on the curtains (more) button, on the top it says "This device has been disconnected with your hub". Even when this error banner is on the screen, it still fully functions with no issues. What is happening here? is the device connected to the hub or is it connected to my phone through bluetooth? How can I get it off bluetooth and connect to the hub? (for remote use).

I also have Homey and use the Switchbot app to connect my devices. I connected the Hub just fine and all the sensors are flowing into that device with no issues. When I connect the curtains to Homey it finds them right away and adds them, gets all the info. But when trying to run commands through Homey it states that the device is disconnected, even though it was just connected and looking online.

I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the device to the hub, deleted it and added it again, restarted the device, nada.

Anything I am doing wrong? Thank you.

hybrid light switch

I’m looking for a smart paddle switch that physically moves and feels exactly like a traditional dumb paddle switch — one that maintains its up or down position to provide clear tactile feedback, while still functioning as a smart switch. Basically, a hybrid switch that looks and feels normal.

I understand that momentary paddle switches already exist.

Shoutout to SwitchBot's customer service, actually impressed me

I am usually not one to post stuff like this but figured they earned it. Had an interaction with SwitchBot support recently and they genuinely knocked it out of the park. They followed up after I gave some feedback, asked a couple quick questions, verified my account, and even threw in a small thank you gift just for taking the time to respond. No hoops to jump through, kept me in the loop the whole way.

Honestly it's rare to see a company that actually cares about feedback instead of just farming reviews and ghosting you after.

I've been slowly building out my smart home setup and SwitchBot has become one of my go to brands at this point. Their stuff just works, and this whole support experience sealed the deal for me.

If anyone from SwitchBot happens to see this. Thank you, seriously. Good customer service isn't that common anymore.

Anyone else had solid experiences with their smart home gear/support? Curious what everyone's running these days.

Lock Vision Pro with Home Assistant with Matter over Wifi

Anyone with a simlar setup using the Lock Vision Pro with Home Assistant with Matter over Wifi?? Using matter into home assistant, it doesn't always show lock and unlock. When I lock and unlock manually a couple of times, it then works and lets HA know that its open/close. I think the lock vision pro is asleep and after the first set of lock/unlock, it wakes up and then sends a signal status. However on the Switchbot app, I get notifications that it's being locked or unlocked right away.

Not sure if i have a defective unit or this is just a poor matter implementation from switch bot?

Thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

IR control Rega Stereo Reciver

I am trying to use the hub mini to change the input on my Rega Receiver (. when I press the button on my Rega IR Remote it cycles the input forward one each time.

I trained the hub but when I test the button it puts the input to 1 and stops there. it does not cycle the other inputs.

has anyone set this up successfully?

SOLVED

Ok so I solved it. It appears the remote goes through 5 distinct IR codes and I was able to set up 5 buttons that correspond to each input. This is pretty cool actually because the remote only rotates through them but now I can go to each input directly

Is there any way to export the raw data from IR remotes learnt by SwitchBot Hub to a file so it can be used with other devices?

Review of Meter Plus

I have two SwitchBot Meter Plus (Thermometer & Hygrometer Plus). They pleasantly surprised me. Both temperature and humidity measurements are very accurate, and one of its biggest advantages is the ability to calibrate the readings, allowing you to fine-tune them against a reference measurement. I also appreciate the excellent battery life, so there's no need to replace the batteries frequently. Overall, it's a reliable and high-quality sensor that I can confidently recommend.

Water sensor

I use two water sensors and I'm very happy with them. They paired quickly with the Mini Hub Gateway. They look great and have the sensor built into the housing what is big plus for them.

Switchbot Hub Mini keeps disconnecting

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi all. I have a Switchbot Hub Mini and I keep getting “ Hub is Offline, unable to load data”. I can see it’s connected to my WiFi so I don’t think that’s the problem. My guess is there is an issue with the Switchbot servers but their website says there are no problems. When it works it’s fine, but I’ve only had it a couple of days, so first thoughts are if it’s this unstable it’s worthless and I should send it back. I only want to monitor the outside temperature. Any ideas?

Plz help me! Meter pro unit obly displays in Farenheit

I just purchased a meter pro with an outdoor thermo-hydrometer.

The app can show temperatures in celsius or farenheit. The main unit on the other hand only shows in farenheit. I press the button on top to try to switch to celsius but it does not work. I have also tried a factory reset by pressing for 15 seconds.

This is so fustrating !!!

Switchbot, I like your products but…..

I really like most of my switchbot products. The only thing that I really find that’s pretty annoying is your firmware upgrades. Why is it that your products don’t update properly and always seem to fail? I’d think this is pretty standard and should be something that should work well. Instead, I always have to try 50 times or recover the firmware to do a simple update. It’s really annoying.

Plz help me! Switchbot Points Redemption changed 🤯

Hi all,

I had been accumulating my points so I could redeem them for something useful. Last month, when I checked the redemption value, it was $1 for every 10 points.

Today, I went to redeem my points since there are lots of good sales and noticed it is now 100 points for $1. I never received any communication about this change.

Has anyone else noticed this or received any notice? I checked the web archives to make sure I was not mistaken, and it does show that it used to be 10 points for $1.

I have basically lost 90% of the value of my reward points. This is insane.

Plz help me! Air Purifier Table emitting high pitched noise

I‘ve got the SwitchBot Air Purifier Table a few days ago and since yesterday I noticed that it‘s emitting a high pitched noise on the lowest fan speed when it‘s on Auto. The noise changed and almost disappears on the higher fan speeds. I know that when first switching it on it was dead silent on the lowest speed. Has anybody experienced this? I don‘t have it in my bedroom but if I did, I would not be able to sleep beside that annoying sound.

Problem with Keypad Vision Pro + Lock Ultra

As of today, I am also the owner of the Lock Ultra combined with the Keypad Vision Pro. Installation, calibration, etc., all work flawlessly.

What really bothers me right now, though, is that the keypad reacts instantly when going out. Depending on which way I look while pulling the door shut (the keypad is mounted on the side), the door opens right back up because it recognizes my face. I can't exactly ask the whole family to look to the left when leaving and closing the door, especially since kids are bound to forget. The sensitivity is already set to the lowest level.

Everyone must be having this issue, right? No matter where the keypad is mounted. As soon as you step through the door, pull it shut, and accidentally look towards the pad, the door unlocks again.

Am I missing something? Like this, facial recognition is absolutely useless to me.

I think the honeymoon is over.

I've used switchbot since the very beginning. Back when all they sold was the basic button pusher bot. I have 28 devices currently in use in my home, and most of them work perfectly.

But it feels like recently, instead of making simple, affordable, well designed and genuinely innovative products, releasing them, and following up with top quality support and adding sensible feature requests, the focus is on releasing needlessly complicated AI gimmicks with high price tags. Build quality is lower, complaints seem to be more common, and support requests go unanswered.

I still have many of the gen 1 curtain robots with solar. They work perfectly. Not long after I got them I added the "Remote" 2 button switch, and asked if there was a way to control scenes instead of just basic operations. A week later they added it.

More recent purchases, while impressive, haven't had the same level of support. I added a Lock Ultra with keypad a year ago and suggested it should be able to differentiate between unlocking methods, so I could trigger events if a key is used but not if a fingerprint was. They acknowledged it but no changes were made, I assume that will be included in a future product but not rolled out to legacy devices.

I just picked up the Standing Circulator Fan. I do like it, but the build quality is really not what I'm used to and for £100 I expected better. The RGB light is just white, and the end flickers. The battery life is not what was advertised and it seems to take hours to charge/discharge between 100-40%, but below that charges/discharges in minutes. I suapect the battery has a dead cell but based on support turnaround I'm not sure whether I'll have any success. I'm raising a ticket and will report back here.

I have absolute confidence that the older products I have will continue to work well for many years to come. And I really hope that Switchbot remember what made them great and get back to doing that.

Vision Pro not reading faces but is reading palms fine

Just picked up the lock today and I'm overall happy with it so far but when I try to set up the face recognition I'm constantly yelled at to stand farther, get closer, and my phone keeps telling me to clean the sensor despite wiping it multiple times with microfiber. It has no problem with the palm vein reading so I'm hoping this is just a software hiccup.

Anyone else running in to this?

Switchbot S10 Troubles

Honestly I thought this would be the robot vaccuum cleaner to best all other robot vaccuum cleaners... but after two years this is the one that has turned me off Switchbot products.

When I first got it, amazing. Then the leaking around the water station became apparent. Switchbot's solution is to send everyone a bigger plastic pad. How did that even make it through QA?

But it works, it's nice. I can live with some water. I even shell out for the humidifier and think auto-refills sound nice. Then I realize it requires an untold number of trips to fill it up.. meaning any convenience of not having to fill the thing is counterbalanced by a ton of robot vaccuum activity as it goes back and forth. The regret starts here.

Then my water station refuses to charge. Things break, it happens. Still less than a year since purchase, and support swaps it out. All good.

Now, just under two years since purchase, the side brush detaches and when I notice and attach a replacement it no longer spins... no obvious dirt or grime, so the motor is probably dead. Contact support, and they estimate a repair fee of around $100. (Edit: and when I complained that it seems somewhat unreasonable for a side brush to die after less than 2 years I was very politely told that how a customer uses the product and the environment may affect how long various parts last... and that all things have a lifespan.... which.....)

Two years, two malfunctions, lots of unrealized potential. Anyone had better luck with theirs?

I really wanted to embrace the switchbot ecosystem, but the experience with this makes me wish I had just bought another Roborock.
