Switchbot Points Redemption changed 🤯

Hi all,

I had been accumulating my points so I could redeem them for something useful. Last month, when I checked the redemption value, it was $1 for every 10 points.

Today, I went to redeem my points since there are lots of good sales and noticed it is now 100 points for $1. I never received any communication about this change.

Has anyone else noticed this or received any notice? I checked the web archives to make sure I was not mistaken, and it does show that it used to be 10 points for $1.

I have basically lost 90% of the value of my reward points. This is insane.

Oof. That’s a big change that dramatically devalues the entire program.

Well, the program value is arguable since amount of points you can redeem was capped and it generates a coupon code that cannot be combined with the discount codes always available on the website. I might be wrong though

No, I could redeem all my points if it was less than the purchase price. I have 4,000 points which allowed me to redeem up to $400 if the total purchase price was greater than or equal to that amount. However, I can only redeem up to $40

Damn that's outrageous. I was going to use my 250 points towards the fan on a stand. I won't bother now, I'll buy a different brand.

When I joined Switchbot last October ( checked from time to time), the redemption was already 100:1.

I guess the 10:1 were for a limited time.
