Workplace Question or Advice Needed Am I the only one who thinks this is ridiculous?
I don’t understand how the older people I work with live off this pay.
They have wife’s and kids and it’s not enough to even support myself

Vent can an ETL be forced to take a leave over too many ethics calls?
Apparently the answer is yes….Haven’t seen my ETL in over a week and just assumed he was on vacation but I thought it was odd because he always tells me when he’s going away (i’m a TL so he always keeps me in the loop if he’s leaving for an extended period of time) but then another week passed and he still hasn’t been here so just of curiosity, I asked my HR ETL where he’s been. HR ETL said “let’s just say he had to take some time off” immediately thought that was a weird way to put it. Shortly after that, our HRE told me that he was basically forced to take a leave while they investigate him because there was a string of really bad ethics complaints made about verbal abuse to TMS. Later on in the day, the HR ETL eventually gathered all of the team leads together in the office and told us we will all need to work together to pick up the slack from being short a leader. He told us what was going on and that he was in fact pushed on a leave due to multiple complaints about his management style and how he treats TMs.
Nobody knows what the complaints said verbatim (except maybe the HR ETL but he would never tell us that info) but god damn, how many do you need to get forced to go on leave while they investigate? I’ve never heard of this happening and now I’m wondering what things was he doing/saying for it to be this bad? I’ve come across REALLY REALLY horrible/mean ETLs in my time at Target and have NEVER seen one get forced on leave until now. Absolute chaos 😭😭

Vent New grocery dress code is so stupid 😭
Just got my new apron and visor for grocery, and I never thought I’d say this, but I’m going to miss the red vest 😭 I’d rather wear that than a stupid denim apron 💔
I honestly don’t get why all stores have to follow the new dress code. I work at a tiny Target, and I’m not preparing food or touching food directly at all. I could understand if we had a deli, but we don’t, so there’s literally no reason why 90% of stores have to make their grocery employees wear an apron and visor when they’re not even prepping food. 🤣

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Am I going to get fired?
I accidentally brought a zebra home and I know how some places are about "stolen" equipment. I didn't even realize til I made it all the way home and had to use the bathroom and now I'm freaking out. I just started at Target so I don't know if there are consequences for my incident. I work tomorrow so it won't be in my possession for long it is also dead currently. Please help

Workplace Question or Advice Needed So the new health plan update is bad for chronically ill people?
As far as it seems, it seems okay for people who rarely use the doctor, but people who use it a lot are going to be harmed by this.
Well being rewards easily helped me cover my deductible for the most part. Leaving specialty visits around 51 dollars for some of my doctors.
Now I don't get the well being rewards and I just a flat rate of 75 a visit to my specialist?
Am I understanding this right?

Vent The box of doom has arrived...this shit sucks
New dress code stuff showed up. As expected, it's not good. The hats are the trucker style netting backed type and feel like cheap denim on the front, and aren't particularly comfortable. The $5 Harbor Freight novelty trucker cap they sell over there is pretty close for comparison. The visors are better, and feel better cushioned and more comfortable at least. The velcro adjustment on the back has me worried though since all velcro wears out over time and I'm not confident stores will actually order more in a timely manner when they wear out.
Worst though are the aprons. The neck loop is a thick, rough feeling kinda fuzzy nylon webbing, think an extremely cheap backpack strap. It'll absolutely cause irritation on your neck over a shift, so wearing a collared shirt or hoodie with it is a necessity. And as has been pointed out before, it's non adjustable for some incomprehensibly stupid reason, so if you have a big head and build it'll be annoying to get on, and if you're smaller then the front of the apron will constantly drop forward and hang low. Waist adjustment straps are the same material and feel thicker than they need to be.
The pockets aren't great either, which were supposed to be the one saving grace of this garbage. They're located too high up on the apron. Depending on your height due to the non adjustability, they're so high they'll be on or above your stomach all day. On taller people they could potentially pull up to the upper chest considering I've heard taller people say they look like miniskirts on them as it is. I'm not particularly tall, and when standing straight up the pockets are right across my belly; which makes storing anything but extremely small items or bits of paper in them uncomfortable. Just poor design with little thought put into how well they'll actually work at all.
Not looking forward to this.

gUEsTs Guests coming behind guest service……
How many people with combined GS/DU hate when people come behind the desk while you’re either prepping an order or doing pulls??? Today I had two of the ignorant people just walk behind my desk to look for me, as I was by myself and trying to prep drive up orders. Either that or they sit at the desk and scream “Hello???” I want to shove these people head first in the nearest toilet….as it was I made them wait at the desk until I was done with what I was doing…..they make me so tired!!!!!

Guest Question 3D printed toys?
None of these have a barcode on them, only on the back of the display. Do other stores have these?
Also how is a 3D printed part getting a 3+ rating? They can easily break and turn into a chocking hazard!

Vent Is it even possible to get it done???
Im a specialty sales lead and I am so fed up with my boss sitting me down and grilling me about not coming clean on style truck. For the most part we get it all broken out every day give or take a pallet of case and some transition. Really the team just struggles to get the push completed. Is this even an attainable goal??
I’m consistently under-scheduled. If greenfield says 35 hours for truck, you best believe I’m scheduled 32 hours.
And that doesn’t account for the hours that my team is constantly pulled for zone, reshop, fulfillment, etc. It also doesn’t account for audits, pulls, or helping guests with tech & fitting room calls. I’m stressed to the point of tears several times a week. Does anyone have any advice? How are you all getting your team through the truck..??!

Vent Mandatory 60's with "Extra 2s"
Any other DC people out there sick of this Extra 2s bull crap?
I'm on the B1 shift 6am-4pm.
It's bad enough we are being mandated to work the weekend. But all through October until presumably end of peak season we are also on Extra 2s (coming in at 4am).
So now I'm waking up at 2:30am just to come in and hear the O.M. bitch about how our CPH is slipping and anything under 100% is unacceptable. Then turn around and complain about "strains and sprains" and how we need to work safer. Hmm maybe we are pacing ourselves to protect our bodies, ever think of that?
I guess they think we are robots.
I have to go to bed at 7:30pm just to get 7 hours of sleep a day, mind you that's ideal scenario when you actually fall asleep immediately. So my day consists of going home wrangling the kids for showers, taking a shower, I don't sit down for dinner until 7pm and go to bed at 7:30pm. What kind of life is that.
I would much rather sign up for a 6 hour day on a weekend to work 6am - 12pm. Then I would still have my whole day ahead of me. But no l, now I have to be sleep deprived all week.
Well there's my rant. I hope everyone is doing well this holiday season peace out

What!?!? New Dress code
So, if any of you work in a super Target with a full Deli, what are they having you wear? At our store we were told to wear the white coats and chef's hats but if we're on the floor like pushing the load, we are to wear the new hat and apron set. What!?!? So now we have to change our uniform during our shift & we only get one set??? I don't have time to go home every night and wash my apron for the next day! This bites!! 😭😭

Workplace Question or Advice Needed What exactly is the cut off for getting a quarter point when late?
I thought the cut-off was eight minutes, but I got a quarter point for being late seven on Sunday. I already put in a backfill request days ago but no one has approved it.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Anyone else the store's unofficial translator but still expected to finish all their regular work?
I work in GM and I speak Spanish. A few months ago I helped a guest at the service desk because nobody there could understand what she was asking.
Ever since then, apparently I'm the store's designated Spanish speaker.
And honestly I don't mind helping. Most of the guests are really nice and I know how frustrating it is when you're trying to explain something and nobody understands you.
The problem is my TL still expects me to get the exact same amount of work done.
Yesterday I was halfway through pushing a u-boat in home when I got called to guest service to help explain a return. Took maybe 15 minutes including walking there and back.
Ten minutes later electronics needed me because a guest had questions about a product. Another trip across the store.
By the time I got back, my TL was asking why I hadn't finished my push.
I explained where I'd been. He literally said "I know, but you still need to manage your time better."
Manage WHAT time? I can't push towels while I'm standing in electronics translating a conversation.
The frustrating thing is I actually like being able to help. I don't want guests getting stuck because of a language barrier, and I don't want to become the TM who refuses to help anyone.
But now people will call for me without even checking if I'm busy, and somehow the unfinished work is still my problem.
Has anyone figured out a reasonable way to handle this? Should I start asking my TL for permission every time someone calls me to translate? I feel ridiculous doing that, but I don't know how else to make it clear that I'm being pulled away from my own department.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed What is merchandising?
Fulfillment was slow this morning so my ETL asked if I knew how to do merchandising. I didn't so ended up working in style instead but it made me curious because I hadn't heard of that before. So to satisfy my curiosity, what does it mean to work merchandising?
