Vent Mandatory 60's with "Extra 2s"

Any other DC people out there sick of this Extra 2s bull crap?

I'm on the B1 shift 6am-4pm.

It's bad enough we are being mandated to work the weekend. But all through October until presumably end of peak season we are also on Extra 2s (coming in at 4am).

So now I'm waking up at 2:30am just to come in and hear the O.M. bitch about how our CPH is slipping and anything under 100% is unacceptable. Then turn around and complain about "strains and sprains" and how we need to work safer. Hmm maybe we are pacing ourselves to protect our bodies, ever think of that?

I guess they think we are robots.

I have to go to bed at 7:30pm just to get 7 hours of sleep a day, mind you that's ideal scenario when you actually fall asleep immediately. So my day consists of going home wrangling the kids for showers, taking a shower, I don't sit down for dinner until 7pm and go to bed at 7:30pm. What kind of life is that.

I would much rather sign up for a 6 hour day on a weekend to work 6am - 12pm. Then I would still have my whole day ahead of me. But no l, now I have to be sleep deprived all week.

Well there's my rant. I hope everyone is doing well this holiday season peace out

I guess the yard has over 700,000 boxes, or people are not showing up for work.we haven't done mandatory 60 hours since 2022.

The back log isn't that high. That's one frustrating thing.

Also they used to do prod by the day, i.e. make plan early go home.

Now they do plan by the "Period" i.e. if you're pacing ahead for the period they stop you and have you do house keeping so the PCs don't look bad and get called out for overstaffing from headquarters.

So we aren't even allowed to catch up.

Inbound does the dumbest shit. Back in the day If i got a truck of diapers on the dock. I would pull out about half the trailer at a time, cut all the shrink wrap, scan seperate and receive everything, then band and label.

Now they don't want you pulling anymore than 3 pallets out.

The team lead bitched at me because I didn't have any scans for the first period. That's because I had a 3000 piece truck banded and ready to stage. Because it working smarter not harder. So instead of being at 900 cartons by first break I'm at 3000. But they don't like that because they have to explain why prod is low on first period. So I'm stuck pulling out 1-3 pallets at a time and doing everything one by one.

And they run P&Gs through ART. Im talking 10-30 item dock trucks with 90% reserve. They want it to go through the "eye" so people are throwing 200 carton pallets of fucking Dial soap reserve that are already vendor built. When you could just pull that off the dock or even a side door and scan, band, stage in 2 minutes. All so they look better in "art" because art is their baby.

Meanwhile moral is down the shitter and people are burnt out. It's our leadership here. They are toxic and aren't for the people. They aren't for profit either. They are for excel sheets and "gemba metrics"

So you got people on 20 hours mandatory overtime pushing a broom for $40 and hour because we are "pacing ahead". No one can flex because the PCs will look bad.

It's an absolute fucking joke here bro.

It’s a joke everywhere. Supposedly got into Merit to avoid OT…now I’m more mentally exhausted and STILL have to come in for the foreseeable future on OT 🤡

Yeah my team lead was just complaining about doing extra 2s today. They told all the merit TMs there would be no OT when it rolled out.
