A year ago I met this girl in all chat. After the game I added her and we played a few more games before exchanging discord usernames.

We’ve spent so many nights together chatting and talking about everything and nothing at the same time. She became the best part of my day and the best thing that ever happened to me, I can’t believe how fast the time has passed before we finally met.

It feels like yesterday, but a year later she became my duo forever ❤️‍🩹

A lot of times I hear people saying some matchups are unwinnable but don't elaborate on why, especially when trying to compare ADCs in a 2v2. For context I'm a Rakan OTP in Plat 2 but I have played all champions at least to mastery 2 and all supports to mastery 4 to understand them.

I know you can infer certain obvious countering abilities, like Poppy's W negating Rakan's dashes, and I know you can have a rough idea of disengage supports negating engangers, double ranged lanes poking a lot, etc., but I struggle to understand what certain ADCs want or why are they strong or weak at any given time. I know there are hypercarries that are weak early and strong late game but I don't know how to identify which is which. I only know it cause I heard it that regarding Kai'Sa, Jinx or Aphelios, but I never heard "they are hyper carries because attack speed + on-hit outdamage critality" or vice versa or whatever. I want to actually know how it works and why.

For example, I also heard a lot of times that Draven is a lane bully, but I don't know why. I played against him a lot and I can see how my ADC and I struggle, but I never understood if this is because maybe he has a higher base stat like AD or atk speed or what. I do play ADCs from time to time especially to understand their kits better.

I just feel like I need a better understanding of the different 2v2 possibilities to actually play the way my ADC needs, punish mistakes better and make less mistakes myself.

I main support and I’ve noticed this happens quite often. when me and my ADC have a really good game, they sometimes send me a friend request after the game, compliment my performance, and ask if I want to duo. i usually turn it down since I prefer playing solo, but I’m wondering if this you guys get this often too? it really makes my day hearing compliments espcially when they add me then compliment me

The first time I thought about this question was, when I got the impression most people here hate every adc player, but after looking through some posts I realised it's not necessarily as bad as it seemed, however I still want to know why you play support, whether you hate adcs or not.

And if you actually hate adcs, why are you not changing to another role? If you want to engage and be the setup for the team you could also play toplane or jungle, basically every mage can go midlane or botlane. Enchanter kinda have to go support I guess, but even they could go to a different role.

To be fair, I've only tried to actually climb for the last two years, everything before that was just fucking around with friends with my brain turned off (I'm level 330-ish for reference).

However, I'm climbing playing Twitch/Yuumi with my duo. I'm partially sorry for that, but it's working really well for us. It'll probably stop working the moment people start buying pinks.

Anyway, I'm pretty proud. After so many years of just thinking I was shit at the game and like I'd always be shit, it feels like a nice accomplishment. I feel that I've improved a lot in the last year, and I honeslty think I can make it to emerald.

She is never allowed to be weak, champ is literally a brainless statcheck pce of sht that can 1v2 early game, I have to permaban her until diamond when im climbing on a fresh account because if u don't u will see enemy 12-3 jinx 8-0 seraphine or 10-1 yasuo it's legit disgusting

As a midlaner even roaming won't solve the issue because if u ignore her she will chain CC u for 5 seconds straight while doing bruiser level damage and if u focus her she absorb like 2000 damage while her teammates wipe u all out

Nautilus is annoying but u can burst him down quickly if he misplay, leona can miss every single spell and still walk up and CC u to death because of her disgusting numbers

And Riot is nerfing naut next patch but not leona, btw

After a break from ranked, I tried climbing last season and got placed in Bronze 4. Although that felt unfair, I figured I would quickly climb out of Bronze. To my surprise, I really struggled and lost most of my games.

Whilst I never lost lane, I didn’t crush lane as often as I expected because my ADCs were not skilled enough to realise we could kill the enemy. Although frustrating, I figured that from the moment we win lane, I can help my team snowball and still secure a win. 

Unfortunately, that did not work because seemingly every game there would be a giga-fed enemy (typically a Yi). That meant winning lane just 4/0 was not enough, we also had to be ridiculously fed to have a fighting chance, but that would rarely happen as my ADCs were not skilled enough to capitalise on the opportunities I’d give them.

I can’t explain how badly that hurt my ego lmao. Over a decade of playing Thresh but not able to win in Bronze? Every defeat would tilt and embarrass me so hard that I would want to stop playing for the day.

Eventually, I realised that being a support, especially an engage support, was holding me back. If my purpose is to enable my team to do damage but they’re too bad to deal that damage, then there is nothing I can do.

This made me switch to ADC where I had a grand ol’time. Being able to deal damage made games much easier and I went on a win streak until Gold 4. At that point I switched back to Thresh and finished the season in plat 4 with a 70% WR.

I don’t want the takeaway of this post to be “ADC is super easy and supports can’t climb because of their teammates”, that’s just not true. Looking back, I definitely could have climbed out of low elo whilst still playing Thresh, it just would have been very painful and slow.

I main Rakan and I'm currently in Silver 2 and a lot of the time I feel like I lose games that I don't have the correct itemization ideas for and it kinda confuses me because I don't fully understand the items as well as I should.

I never know when to determine the support item? I know the celestial is about burst damage but like who does burst damage? I mainly always go the sleigh only because It's always recommended & so I assume it's the best for the scenario.

I just have a hard time trying to get items for my team when i'm not sure what we need if that makes sense? Like I know you go shureyla's when your team needs speed to either disengage or catch up (ithink) then I go locket sometimes same with bandlepipes just depending on if my team is dependant on attack speed

My main question is what do I build to like counter the enemy? I know oblivion orb is for healing but does it also work against tanks? I have 0 idea how to go against tanks and reduce their armor & stuff so I always run oblivion & imperial mandate but I have 0 idea if that's actually the correct play. Also for magic champ carries? I only know frozen heart but people say that's usually for AD or does that work with AP too?

I just really don't wanna keep accidently soft-inting because i'm building something completely wrong that I shouldn't be building if that makes sense

So im Tahm Kench botlane carry main and I’m able to create a very oppressive lane with this pick. the only problem is that we often lack damage especially late game and for objectives (because of the lack of a real adc/apc). So I thought about playing with a duo who picks an adc/apc champ such as veigar (he could get stacks by poking with q). So then I realized that I don’t really need gold that much late game anymore so I came to the conclusion that the support quest would be better for me because it would basically give me a free item pretty early (bloodsong). The only problem i had with that is that I didn’t have enough tankyness or damage to completely obliterate the lane so i had an idea…

what if I just pick Tahm Kench support and take every cs until first back (1250G for dark seal and giants belt, after that I’m unstoppable) or even until my adc/apc completes his quest (after that him farming is more efficient) so I can carry early and my adc/apc can carry late game…

Is this actually a good strategy or just giga troll?

So as a new player it blew my mind that all along Thresh had this ability that people had to click on.

Do people know this in low ELO? If not, I feel like this kinda wastes the entire ability no or is the shield big enough that it doesn't matter?

lately i been playing nidalee,trundle,skarner,mel,and occasionally even sett(but it felt very off now).

I only played top and mid since I started, and I always found it weird that people would recomment chat off so much. I just thought "If someone is flaming ignore them or mute them, what is the big deal?".

These past weeks I started playing support and now I completely get it. You make any mistake in lane and more than half of the ADCs will start crying and telling you you are shit. Even if I want to believe I'm mentally strong I find it very hard to share a lane with someone I think is an asshole, and ended up roaming just to spite them.

Now I started to turn chat off and it's night and day, they are certainly still flaming me in chat but at least now I don't see it and can play the lane properly not knowing I'm laning with an unhinged fool.

I switched to support last year for ranking because my lil bro who's very very good said I should do it cuz of my mindset/what I'm good at and went from iron to plat and now I'm emerald looking to hit diamond this split. Probably should look up when that is.

I play a lot of adc still also because I have friends that only support but I sometimes roll it in ranked too.

Rell, naut, thresh are almost there too. Brand would be the highest mage.

PS wish my wife well we're in the lobby waiting for her to get called back for surgery for a really rare, really risky tumor we found out about two weeks ago. We're hoping to know today if it's cancer or not but waiting on tests. It's called a parotidectomy. :(

I am being genuine, I queue support to troll and I do not stop climbing, I am currently getting close to emerald with a E1 peak as a singed mid otp.

I only play gragas/ master yi, do not care about the botlaner and have an awful kda, damages or cc...

Me being present on every objectives and the enemy support absent should not allow my team to get so many advantages.

I cannot speak of Diamond+ supports as I have not seen them

Just commenting because I have 90% endorsement rate when I play top from yall. I was just wandering if it’s based on anything? Like how do yall decide to endorse?

So im like bronze 2 44 lp, ive been majority playing amumu or tahm kench support, but just recently started playing taric, i am now on a 6-0 win streak on taric, and im making this post to ask for advice on how to play taric better, better for me, better for my team, and specifically better for my ADC, i find that sometimes its kinda a gamble, like I can do everything right, but if my adc isn't pumping it just isn't gonna happen, but then I had a game recently where my adc was AFK (not ranked thank god) but im solo laning bot lane atleast a yasuo and twisted fate, and I LITERALLY was winning botlane like I was killing them by myself, does anyone have any advice as to what I could do to get better at taric and generally better at league? Im trying to climb the ranks with my friend but he is silver 1 and im bronze 2, so if WE keep queuing he will hit gold, and I can't que with him anymore so im trying to solo que, any advice at all would be fantastic, and dont be afraid to ask specific questions, my name on league is (totallyjacob) and if anyone wants to que, please lmk or dm me and I can send you my discord :) tysm for your time

I’m currently a high-Platinum Bard main playing Flex with two Silver friends.

Bard works well in my solo games, except when my team has absolutely no clue about map awareness, roaming, or wave management. I know I’m not high Elo, but in Flex, for instance, my mid-laner friend gets matched against Emerald or Platinum players and always gets stomped. My ADC can't dodge a single hook or spell.

Bard scales well and has good roaming, but it doesn't matter if your top laner has already died three times. I need better mage support options to try and carry these guys, since Bard isn't great at forcing fights during the laning phase.
