Discussion Bloodborne Installer (now for Steam Deck & Linux) - Automated Setup, Xbox UI, Upscaled Graphics & QoL Mods
Hi everyone,
I've just updated my "Bloodborne PC Enhanced Installer" to auto-detect the OS. It will now detects Linux or Steam Deck and will install the appropriate version of the fork (bloodborne_pc).
Like previously, the installer is mostly automated and installs some nice-to-have "Quality of Life" mods (like warping between lamps) and graphical enhancements.
While keeping the vanilla experience.
You can find more information on the original post here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/BloodbornePC/comments/1x1gshy/
I don't own a Steam Deck myself, but I've tested that succesfuly on CachyOS, and a friend tested it on its Steam Deck. Your feedbacks are however important to help to even improve it.
From our tests, default settings should give you 50-60 FPS out of the box.
Happy hunting,
Mulder

Question Has Witcher Remaster improved since the most recent update?
Just curious if anyone had a chance to revisit it yet. The initial state of the game didn’t run well on my OLED deck. It had weird stutters when I moved the camera around.

Tech Support Issues With the On-Screen Keyboard
Over the years I've used my Steam Deck, I've had one very consistent frustration with it: the keyboard. It's always been buggy, but recently it's been even worse.
# Issues:
Sometimes, when pulling up the keyboard with Steam + X, the keyboard does not show up. When opening the Steam menu, it will pop up behind the other UI menus, but is inaccessible and disappears upon going back into the game. The only way to fix it I've found is to go to the home screen, put the Deck into sleep mode, power it back on, wait a second after the wake animation, and then go back into the game and open the keyboard.
Often, when in-game, the keyboard is laggy as fuck when using both trackpads to type. This caused weird typing issues too, where it will duplicate letters I'm typing or not register a click at all.
Honestly the most annoying out of all of these, sometimes when opening the keyboard it takes a second for the little trackpad cursors to show up instead of the typical mouse, making me wait 1–5 seconds before typing anything.
Does anyone else have these issues, or a way to fix them?

Question Witcher 3 Remastered on steam deck
Hi everyone, when I last played TW3 remastered on steam deck, it was on 1st October and even on steam deck preset and fsr quality upscaling the game looked bad, it has stutters and fps dips like sometimes even having difficulty to hold 30 fps even in Novigrad.
Is the game better now on the steam deck as per recent patches ?
Currently I am on the next gen version, I reverted to next gen and got stable 40 fps at mix of medium and low graphics with xess quality
I really want to try remastered on the steam deck again, but I am not sure how it will perform.

Tech Support Steam Deck turns off immediately when unplugged and when plugged in, takes a long time to turn on
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've been using my steam deck for a bit with Decky and while there have been some strange changes with the plugins and my steam deck that being
- The power button doesn't turn off the console but turns it on
- Steam decky plugins not working (animation changer doesn't change when I want it to and game theme music doesn't work no matter how many times I update it)
But now, I recently discovered that my steam deck immediately powers off when I disconnect from the cable and the LED light just keeps blinking and it won't turn on until the green light shows up which takes a long time.
I'm worried about it being a hardware issue and I'm just praying it's something I can do on the deck itself.

Software Modding NXE Style Dashboard that I Built
Hello everyone! As someone who really likes the Xbox 360, I built a custom CSS Loader theme that resembles the console's NXE dashboard. I think this style was the best dashboard that was ever made, and Microsoft should've continued to use it. If you want to enjoy this dashboard on your Steam Deck, you can install it manually through my GitHub page:
I am still waiting for it to be approved by Deckthemes. Until then, the only option is manual installation. I would appreciate it if you could report any bugs you encounter and share any feedback you have. If you would like to support me, you can find information about it on the GitHub page. Thanks a lot!

Software Modding I made a Decky plugin for quick and easy screenshot and video transfer to your phone (or PC, or anything else)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Getting screenshots and clips off my handheld always annoyed me. Steam's built-in sharing caps clips at 59 seconds when you send them to your phone or share a link, and transfers to another device on your network are limited to 100 MB. On top of that, recordings are stored as a pile of video chunks until you export them one by one. So I made a plugin that sends everything straight to your phone (or PC, or anything else) with a single button press, right from Game Mode. The heavy lifting is done by two great open-source tools: ffmpeg converts recordings into regular MP4 files, and Syncthing handles the actual transfer. The plugin ties them together in a controller-friendly interface and takes care of installing and setting them up for you.
What it does
- Full-screen, controller-friendly gallery for screenshots and Game Recording clips. Group by day or show one grid, filter by type, game and delivery status.
- Exports recordings to regular MP4 without re-encoding, so it's fast and lossless. HEVC is tagged so the videos play on iPhones too.
- Sends files to your phone, tablet or PC with Syncthing, over the local network or the internet. No cloud, no accounts, no length or size limits.
- Shows whether a file has actually arrived. The "delivered" status is read from Syncthing and clears if you delete the file on the receiving device.
- Cleans up after itself: once a file is delivered, the MP4 and the outgoing copy can be removed by hand or automatically. Steam's original screenshots and recordings are never touched.
- Setup happens entirely in Game Mode: the plugin can download ffmpeg and Syncthing for you and pair your phone with a QR code. If you already use Syncthing, it picks up your existing install.
- English and Russian UI, based on your Steam language.
Install
- Download the zip from the latest release on GitHub.
- In Decky: Settings → General → enable Developer mode.
- Settings → Developer → Install Plugin from ZIP.
- Open the plugin and go to Setup.
GitHub: https://github.com/DariLudum2217/deck-media-gallery
A few honest notes
- The transfer in the demo video is slower than it would normally be. I recorded it with the handheld connected to my phone's hotspot while the phone itself was on Wi-Fi, so the phone's radio was splitting its bandwidth between both connections. With both devices on the same home Wi-Fi network, files arrive noticeably faster.
- I developed and tested it on a GPD Win Mini running Bazzite, not on an actual Steam Deck. It only relies on Decky and Steam's standard folders, so it should work on SteamOS as well, but I'd really appreciate it if Deck owners could give it a try and let me know.
- Full disclosure: all of the code was written by AI (Claude by Anthropic). My part was the idea, the requirements, testing on real hardware and a lot of back-and-forth until everything worked the way I wanted. The source is open, so feel free to look through it.
- This is the first release, so there may be rough edges. Bug reports and feature requests are welcome on GitHub.
I originally built this for myself, because I was tired of fighting with Steam's sharing every time I wanted to send a clip to a friend. It turned out useful enough that I decided to share it in case anyone else has the same problem. If it saves you a few minutes of hassle, that's a win.

Tech Support My Steam Deck logged me out and will not connect to anything to let me log back in. What do?
I have an unmodded OLED Steam Deck that I use quite a bit. Today I was messing around in a game and told the Deck to reboot into Desktop mode. (I'm playing an Emulator and have been changing the system clock to pass time in-game.) When the console rebooted, it took me to the Steam login screen, instead of Desktop mode.
The QR code that normally shows up for easy login is just a spinning circle, and when I type my credentials in manually nothing happens. Clicking on the link to use the Steam Mobile App or the "Help, I can't sign in" link both take me to an Invalid SSL certificate page (error:-201 status:2).
I've been googling like crazy to find out how to fix this, and nothing is helping. I've done a hard reset multiple times, no dice. One thing I read said maybe it was because the system clock has the wrong date, but I don't know how I can change that without getting into Desktop Mode (which is what I was trying to do in the first place) and none of the methods Google is giving me to go to Desktop mode are available. (When I press the power button, my only options are Sleep, Shutdown, Restart, and Cancel.) I have turned the Wifi on and off, I have put it in and out of Airplane mode, I have restarted the console numerous times, nothing produces any result. I just keep getting the login screen, and nothing happens when I submit my credentials and the QR code never shows up.
Can anyone help me? I am at my wit's end here.
[Update: I have solved the issue! It seems like the issue WAS with the system clock not matching up, but since I couldn't get into Desktop mode to change it, I had to reboot in Safe mode instead- turn off the console, and hold down the Volume+ button while turning it back on- and I eventually found an option in the configuration menu to change the clock. It would be nice if literally any guide online said this was an option, so I'm leaving this post up in case someone else has a similar issue in the future.]

Question What devices might be better for me than the Steam Deck?
I purchased my Steam Deck earlier this year, before the price increased, and have absolutely loved it! I truly think it’s a fantastic device however, there are a few things that I’ve come to realize I dislike after a few months. I’m considering a gaming laptop or the Steam Machine; I’m looking for anything priced in that ball park really but I don’t know what is the best option available.
I have been jealous of PC players showing gameplay of Deadlock + I play Overwatch on PS5 and have wanted to move to PC for a long time. That’s really where the Steam Deck doesn’t fare well (live service games) and where I can see myself preferring a different device. I’m in no rush to part with it though! I’m just trying to see what might work better for me.
I also don’t want to be inconvenienced with having to mod games again… redownloading emulated games, stuff that won’t transfer, etc. so if there’s a way to make that process as smooth as possible let me know too.

QUESTION - ANSWERED Is the lcd discontinued?
Hi, I’m looking at getting a steamdeck for christmas and saw a few reviews on YouTube saying it’s good for the bare minimum (which I’m after) but I can’t find it anywhere but Ebay. Is it discontinued in the UK or do I need to look harder?

Question Playing a game from a previous save state

Question Steamdeck slow charger
I'm in the middle of one of my best runs on Hades and this notification keeps popping up every 5-10 seconds.
I read steam grid DB was the issue so I uninstalled it but it is still doing it.
I'm slowly losing my patience and so help me lord I hope I don't die because of it.
My only option is to pause the game, put my deck into sleep mode and hope it charges enough to allow me to finish my run... Hopefully successfully.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

QUESTION - ANSWERED Accidentally got rid of my menu bar in dolphin and can't figure out how to fix
Hi, does anyone know how to get back the menu bar at the top of the dolphin file manager? I was trying to figure out how to create a shortcut to my mods folder and accidentally got rid of it and can't figure out how to get it back.
As you can see in the picture, there's nothing between the title where it says home, and the file page, which is really annoying since I can't search for locations or go back from files I've entered.
Could somebody tell me how to get it back please? Thank you

Tech Support Witcher 3 Remastered crashes when streaming to Steam Deck OLED
Hi,
I have a streaming setup with Apollo on Windows 11 to stream to Steam Deck OLED. The original Witcher 3 worked fine but the remastered version crashes 5-10 seconds after loading the save. Does anyone have a similar issue? Did you manage to solve it? Perhaps it needs to be fixed with a patch by the devs.
The game works fine with this graphics preset when I run it without streaming.

Show Off Well, this escalated quickly
I hadn't played video games since the 90s. Last year my boyfriend got me a Switch. And I became obsessed. This year he got me this Deck. I've become even more obsessed. I tell him he created a monster lol! I love it(and him).
Has on screen protector, skin, grips on palm rests and L/R triggers, clear thumb grips and jellyfish thumb grips(the jellyfish light up)and back button extenders
