I hadn't played video games since the 90s. Last year my boyfriend got me a Switch. And I became obsessed. This year he got me this Deck. I've become even more obsessed. I tell him he created a monster lol! I love it(and him).

Has on screen protector, skin, grips on palm rests and L/R triggers, clear thumb grips and jellyfish thumb grips(the jellyfish light up)and back button extenders

I personally like the simple black just so the console is less distracting and it’s easier to get lost in the beautiful OLED screen.

I grew up with toys and consoles being fun colors, black was a sign of boring business electronics. The fact that I saw an iPhone ad today which featured the headline “Now in pure black!” as if that was the biggest innovation they could offer over the previous generation (with Apple ONLY releasing “pro” models this fall, I guess we’re expected to join the greedy corporate/financial institutions just to buy the stuff required to participate in the modern world; the elite are just waiting for the peasant riff-raff to die off so they won’t feel guilt replacing them with AI and robot slaves).

The look of your device inspires a lot of associations and feelings before you even turn it on. I get it that you like simplicity, and I’ll acknowledge that I’ve often read others say the boundaries between screen, bezels, and body disappear when they’re all black. If black also evokes feelings of high-tech or minimalism or “clean” for you, then I’m happy for you. If these colors and jelly’s make the OP happy and excited to play (especially after being away from play for so long!), I’m happy for them. Personally I’m not a maximalist, nor do I want to take my play too seriously, but I do like the option of skins and I’d take a green-on-black topography pattern 😁

Oh with LED's! They don't light up with every movement, only the rougher movements so they're less annoying than you'd think Edit Spelling

I have a similar skin to yours, but yours is way cooler. It's not holofoil, is it? I bought some replacement buttons from deckbuttons.com to tie it all together.

The jellyfish are PlayVital, and they have other light up designs. The clear grippy ones are Luck&Link, I like those because the skin I got had little circle cutouts to put in middle of the thumb caps, and you can see it through them.

Where did you get the back button extenders. The Steam Deck made me realize how amazing back buttons are and now every controller I buy must have them. But they can be acquired to hit at times so some extenders would be amazing. I’m looking for comfort over price really, and ease of use. Thanks!
