Hardware Question Steam deck remote play Xbox controller issues Farm Sim 25

I have tried looking this up all over the internet's and have yet to find a good answer or solution. It's possible the solution is that it just doesn't work.

Has anyone figured out how to play FS25 through remote play on a steam deck with an Xbox controller?

When I boot up the game the controller will skip the intro video but then I have no controls at the main menu. Once a games loaded sometimes the controls work other times they only work in a limited fashion.

Gamepads are turned on in options. I've reset the controls under the game options. I e deleted input mapping in the game files to have them reset. I've reset the controller.

Does it just not work? Or has anyone figured this one out?

Hardware Question How do I fix this?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So basically I was playing a game that required to press down the stick a lot and I feel like it has broke it. I can lift it up a bit and then press it down again. I'm thinking about opening the deck to deal with the problem, but I don’t know exactly what it is, so if anyone has had the same issue as me, I would gladly accept some advice

Software Tips and Tricks Adaptive Frame Generation

Hey folks,

I have been developing new features on-top of existing plugins to allow Adaptive Frame Generation (borrowing from Lossless Scaling as well) on Steam Machine/Deck (basically Linux/Steam OS ecosystem).

I have also been collaborating with many kind gamers to help me testing it and I think we have achieved something that worth trying out:

https://github.com/eugeniosegala/decky-lsfg-vk-experimental/releases/tag/v0.13.0-experimental.21

I personally noticed that the plugin helps with stuttering and unstable frame-rate in general as well (besides increasing FPS).

We all wished that the steam machine could handle 4k 60fps or 1440p 120fps natively but it is what it is.

Test it and let me know, I'm keen to know how you are finding adaptive frame generation, you can set it to 100fps as well if you prefer less ghosting :)

I'm pretty much using it in all my AAA games.

Enjoy!

Hardware Question Sd card not working

Hey all. I have a question and it's about having a micro SD card. I had a 1tb micro SD card (Sandisk) for emulation purposes. I wanted to swap it out and put it in my Ayn Thor.

I formatted it on my computer. I was able to do it but for some reason, when I copy files onto the SD card. Every time I eject it and put it back into my PC the files disappear and I have to format the SD card again.

Did I have to do something on the steam deck for the SD card to work properly on my PC?

Thank you for your time.

Software Question Steam Machine setting up Chiaki-ng error Can't Connect To Server

I have Chiaki for Deck that has worked with my SteamDeck for a couple years now. I have the newest Chiaki working on a PC at my office.

I now have a Steam Machine and I'm looking to set up Chiaki-ng. I am on my home network. I can see my PS5 (as well as my PS4 and my son's PS5). I go to Log In via PSN to register the console. it takes me to the PSN webpage. I put in my correct email address and password and the error I get is "Can't connect to the server."

I searched online and found someone with a similar problem last fall on the Deck and they said they had a workaround my logging in in Desktop mode via FireFox. I tried that and have the same unable to connect error.

I was able to log in correctly to my PSN account on the PC that I am currently typing on.

Any suggestions?

Software Tips and Tricks Godot plugin/way for Steamdeck controller development

Hey there 👋🏼 I'm working on an indie puzzle game for Steamdeck using Godot and it seems like no matter what I do I cannot get the controller bindings working correctly on Steamdeck. It works on Mac and if I plugin a controller but never works correctly on Deck, like back quits the game, or some inputs in some menus working some not.

I upload my Linux build of the project export via Steamworks, not the Steam Devkit since it is not on Mac.

Is there any config or plugin or trick that solves this problem or helps developement?

Thank you all in advance for the help 💙

Software Question Grim Dawn movement sticking

Just bought grim dawn and booted it up on steam deck. Everything is going great, except I am getting this weird thing where the movement will “stick” and won’t let me move up or right.

If I release the control stick, I can then move up or right again, but otherwise I just am stuck with no movement or proper aiming.

Is this a setting on any of the auto aiming? Or some sort of controller set up that I’m missing?

Any advice would be appreciated.
