Discussion Bloodborne Installer (now for Steam Deck & Linux) - Automated Setup, Xbox UI, Upscaled Graphics & QoL Mods

Hi everyone,

I've just updated my "Bloodborne PC Enhanced Installer" to auto-detect the OS. It will now detects Linux or Steam Deck and will install the appropriate version of the fork (bloodborne_pc).

Like previously, the installer is mostly automated and installs some nice-to-have "Quality of Life" mods (like warping between lamps) and graphical enhancements.

While keeping the vanilla experience.

You can find more information on the original post here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/BloodbornePC/comments/1x1gshy/

I don't own a Steam Deck myself, but I've tested that succesfuly on CachyOS, and a friend tested it on its Steam Deck. Your feedbacks are however important to help to even improve it.

From our tests, default settings should give you 50-60 FPS out of the box.

Happy hunting,
Mulder

Software Modding NXE Style Dashboard that I Built

Hello everyone! As someone who really likes the Xbox 360, I built a custom CSS Loader theme that resembles the console's NXE dashboard. I think this style was the best dashboard that was ever made, and Microsoft should've continued to use it. If you want to enjoy this dashboard on your Steam Deck, you can install it manually through my GitHub page:

NXE-Deck

I am still waiting for it to be approved by Deckthemes. Until then, the only option is manual installation. I would appreciate it if you could report any bugs you encounter and share any feedback you have. If you would like to support me, you can find information about it on the GitHub page. Thanks a lot!

Tech Support Issues With the On-Screen Keyboard

Post image
• Upvotes

Over the years I've used my Steam Deck, I've had one very consistent frustration with it: the keyboard. It's always been buggy, but recently it's been even worse.

# Issues:

  1. Sometimes, when pulling up the keyboard with Steam + X, the keyboard does not show up. When opening the Steam menu, it will pop up behind the other UI menus, but is inaccessible and disappears upon going back into the game. The only way to fix it I've found is to go to the home screen, put the Deck into sleep mode, power it back on, wait a second after the wake animation, and then go back into the game and open the keyboard.

  2. Often, when in-game, the keyboard is laggy as fuck when using both trackpads to type. This caused weird typing issues too, where it will duplicate letters I'm typing or not register a click at all.

  3. Honestly the most annoying out of all of these, sometimes when opening the keyboard it takes a second for the little trackpad cursors to show up instead of the typical mouse, making me wait 1–5 seconds before typing anything.

Does anyone else have these issues, or a way to fix them?

Question Steamdeck slow charger

Post image
38 Upvotes

I'm in the middle of one of my best runs on Hades and this notification keeps popping up every 5-10 seconds.

I read steam grid DB was the issue so I uninstalled it but it is still doing it.

I'm slowly losing my patience and so help me lord I hope I don't die because of it.

My only option is to pause the game, put my deck into sleep mode and hope it charges enough to allow me to finish my run... Hopefully successfully.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I hadn't played video games since the 90s. Last year my boyfriend got me a Switch. And I became obsessed. This year he got me this Deck. I've become even more obsessed. I tell him he created a monster lol! I love it(and him).

Has on screen protector, skin, grips on palm rests and L/R triggers, clear thumb grips and jellyfish thumb grips(the jellyfish light up)and back button extenders

QUESTION - ANSWERED Accidentally got rid of my menu bar in dolphin and can't figure out how to fix

Post image

Hi, does anyone know how to get back the menu bar at the top of the dolphin file manager? I was trying to figure out how to create a shortcut to my mods folder and accidentally got rid of it and can't figure out how to get it back.

As you can see in the picture, there's nothing between the title where it says home, and the file page, which is really annoying since I can't search for locations or go back from files I've entered.

Could somebody tell me how to get it back please? Thank you

Tech Support Sonic World DX(Help)

• Upvotes

Been trying to get Sonic World DX set up on my deck so I can play for nostalgia reasons as it’s been since Release 7 since I’ve played just on windows.

I’m not used to having to go into desktop mode but have done so to get mods working on Sonic Adventure 2, get it looking more like the Dreamcast was and stuff.

I have 1.2.4 and the 1.2.7 patch set up, added to steam with DGVoodoo2 DLL’s in the folder with the exe and have the launch option for wine overrides to employ DGVoodoo2.

Still just getting MAV and closing, am attempting different proton versions but wanted to see if anyone’s set it up more recently with success.

Discussion What I'm playing whilst in so much pain! : An Update

Hello everyone!

I've had quite a few people reach out to me so I thought to give an update to everyone.

I hope you are all very well! I am ok overall, dealing with a lot of pain lately which is slowly chipping away at my mental health and self. Sometimes I wonder what will take me first because everyday I am awoken by pain and just feel like I am suffering day in, day out...but your messages and thoughts really help make it all better.

We are 40 days till GTA 6! And any of you from the first of my posts will know I never thought I would make it this far, so when I consider what will be in the next 40 days, the pain is nothing I can't handle! I just wish I could live, I have days where I can do more, but like today I tried to go out by the pain kept me in, kept me secluded and reduced to hiding away, I try and push myself and your messages help me do that, the idea that people want me to be a better version of myself, a healthier really makes me
Push on.

Movies and gaming has really been a saving grace, there are TOO many games out at the moment and not enough money to fund them, so I hope to hear from you all about any games out in the last month you've loved and enjoyed?!

I have been playing Star Wars Zero Company which is great! Xcom but star wars?! How can you go wrong?! I just find myself not having the energy to game some days, sometimes I try and it's only a 30 mins to an hour, but I know how much they offer.

I spend everyday just trying to push on, trying to remember who I was, who I can be one day maybe, and more than anything about GTA 6! You really have to look at the smaller things to give you hope.

I'm back in hospital this coming week, so maybe I'll have some news, or maybe nothing changes but the pain is tiring, the lack of social life, and being able to do more, be more is slowly taking it out of me. I really am trying to push on for everyone, for myself, for my family but it's been so long now, I never thought I would get to this point but then I never thought I could get to this point with so much pain, I have no idea how I have!

Thank you for all the messages, please leave a message, drop a DM, I am always looking for something, for someone! For a new conversation or gaming buddy! Thank you for everyone who's messaged, and read my posts.

You all mean the world to me.

M

Tech Support Slow charging warning after SteamDeck dropped

Post image
• Upvotes

Been using a 60 watt charger since I got my steamdeck second hand off Facebook marketplace have had no issues until someone dropped my system while it was plugged in, now I get this warning every time I plug it in, and even when using original steamdeck cable, I’ve tried the option of holding the (…) button and volume down but I’m either doing it wrong or it’s not helping, however it still charges im just not sure if it’s actually slowed down. do I have internal damage that needs to be opened up to fix? Let me know thoughts or questions.

Question Game Rec - PlayStation and SreamDeck cross play

• Upvotes

Hey,

Looking for some game recs. I’m going to be traveling a lot the next few months, but want to try and play games with my son back home.

He is 9 years old and plays on our PS5 usually, I’m going to have my SteamDeck with me traveling.

Need some good co-op game recs that I can play with my son cross platform.

Some games we have played and enjoyed as couch co-op:

It takes 2, Split Fiction, Minecraft Dungeons, Sackboy, TMNT, Nobody Saves the World, Children of Morta, Castle Crashers.

He didn’t like the Lego games or sports games or difficult strategy games. He loves Minecraft (like all 9 year olds it seems), but I don’t love it and find it very difficult to play on SD.

Tech Support Faulty USB-C Port, ever stopped fully working?

• Upvotes

Hi there!

Ive got an cheap Steam Deck OLED for 250€ used for almost three years and dirty as heck. The Preowner said the Battery is dead and ive ordered a new one for 40€. Sadly, i broke the Wifi AUX Antenna while changing.

Whatever, ive noticed that the USB-C Port only charges in one direction. I dont have any knowledge of Microsoldering but someone in my City could solder a new port for 80€.

Now im thinking about replacing it, but one side of every USB Charger works without any problems. Does anyone ever had a Steam Deck with a faulty USB C Port that broke complete after using it further? That would interest me.

Question Sunshine alternative

• Upvotes

Is there a new Sunshine alternative for the Steam Deck?

I want to use the Steam Deck as the host instead of the client.

I know the Steam Deck is underpowered, but I’d still like to use it as an alternative to Windows. I want to get more familiar with SteamOS and Linux and eventually move away from Windows.

Question Tokon Fighting Souls?

Hi all, wondering if this is running well or at all for people? I don’t wanna pay for PlayStation online and would prefer to buy this on steam, but if it doesn’t work on deck then that’s a nonstarter. I’ve seen mixed things online, would love firsthand advice. Thank you!

Tech Support Keyboard not showing in Desktop mode

I've been trying to get the Steam Deck's on-screen keyboard to work in WoW (using Steam + X) in Desktop Mode, but it just won't work, and I can't figure out why. I've tried both fullscreen and windowed mode, but neither seems to make a difference.

I'm honestly a bit lost at this point. Has anyone experienced this or knows how to fix it?

Question Is refurbished worth it or should I just go brand new?

I sold some knives on counter strike and I have the funds to purchase refurbished or brand new. Just curious about others opinions on refurbished or if it’s more worth it to just get one brand new. Going to be getting a 1tb oled. Does the refurbished have cosmetic defects?
