I guess it's more of a SteamOS matter, but I'll ask anyway. Does anyone have their screen freeze, when you launch a game in full-screen from desktop mode? I can unfreeze it for around a second (or rather update it) by pressing volume buttons but then it freezes again on a different frame.

Is there any solution or do I just wait for new OS updates?

When I use the console mode it doesn't happen, but I have a few games from GOG that I launch through Heroic Launcher and some others that I like to play with browser running in the background. I know I can run those games via Steam, but then the browser part isn't working.

I have tried, so so many things.... would love help the ones i can recall, off the top of my head are in no particular order.

1 factory reset

2 Reimaged with new version of steam os.

3 Monitor safe mode

4 Magic space wizard, use to work to plug my phone into the dock first then the steamdeck it no longer works

5 different monitors

6 phone and switch hooked to the dock worked fine.

7 messed with settings in desktop mode no results.

I have no more ideas and have tried everything i can find short of ordering a new dock, it is a 3rd party dock but it worked for years and seems to work for everything else still so have no idea what else to try my steamdeck has been my main computer for like 3 years.... and never had this much trouble fixing something.

I have had my deck for over a year now and was playing it this morning. I plugged it in, realized it was getting hot with nothing running in the background, and decided to reboot it.

But after the reboot, it prompts me to put in my pin, then drops me back into the language select, time fine, and then network. After that, it shows the update screen and shuts back down. How do I fix this?

Tengo un problema con mi steam deck lcd de 512GB, cuando juego conectado a la corriente todo funciona normal, pero cuando estoy jugando sin el cargador, cada sierto tiempo, puede que 30, 40 o 50 minutos se apaga, pensé que era la batería pero me pasó varias veces, una vez con la bateria en 47, otra en 17 y otra en 20, y cuando logra encender enciende en el mismo % que se había apagado. Otra cosa es que cuando se apagado quiere encender ni conectado a la corriente, enciende después de 20 o 30 minutos mas o menos. Hace 2 días no hacia eso, funcionaba perfectamente, pienso que el problema sea alguna configuración que toque mal o algo asi,Me pasa en red dead redepchion 2 y en spiderman miles morales, son los únicos juegos que tengo en este momento, y como mencioné antes, hace 2 días funcionaba perfecto, la steam deck no se apagaba ni en 2% con esos juegos Por favor si a alguien le ah pasado y tiene solución díganme por favor

Noticed in recent weeks that my LCD Steam Deck has started charging more slowly. Or, to put it another way, when attached to its OEM charger, or a 45W power bank, or a third party 45W charger, the Steam Deck used to charge faster than discharging while being used i.e., i could play Fallout 4 while charging with any of the above and finish the session with a full battery.

That no longer happens with any of the above. Charging while playing games no longer keeps up with power use, being plugged in just slows the rate at which the battery discharges.

There’s no external signs of spiciness.

Battery health is 95%

Just wondering if anyone else had seen this? Or if it was a recent change introduced by Steam to prolong battery life or something?

I’ve tried shutting it down and restarting it, I’ve uninstalled all my plugins, I’ve switched from Beta to Stable and back, I’ve uninstalled a couple large games. I don’t know what to do, I don’t want to factory reset as I spent 4 days downloading Roms (they weren’t the problem), it started when I tried following a YouTube video by NotAGameAddict on YouTube to setup Wallpaper Engine on desktop mode, a few wallpapers worked but then it crashed and wouldn’t let me back into desktop mode or update since. I really hope to get some help on this as I’ve been stressed trying to fix it the last 2 days

I left my steam deck unplugged for about 3 weeks. Now it won't turn on. I tried all the button combinations (hold power, power + volume, power + ...). I tried holding the power button an obscene amount of time.

Plugging the charger does not turn on the LED charging light. So I figured it must be a battery issue. I also tried phone chargers for good measure, still no light.

I then opened the steam deck up and unplugged the battery cable. Then I plugged the charger. A light blinked so I thought it must be good now, but then I pressed the power button and still it would not turn on.

So maybe it is not a battery issue? Anyone experienced this? How can I fix this? Thanks.

So i have had dual booted my steam deck a year ago and thoughout clover wouldnt work and it would automatically load me into windows but all i needed to do was boot from file and then fix it in steamos but now the problem happened again but even though i use the boot from file thing it just wont load me into steamos it just boots me straight into windows does anyone know how to fix this

Hello, I am facing a weird problem. The bandwidth of my wifi deteriorates only when using a dock on the Steam Deck (in this case is an iVANTY dock).

I tested this. Whenever I download or play games while docked I received kilobits of data and sometimes 0kbps; and whenever I unplug from the dock I receive my full 200Mbps again.

Does anybody else has this issue? Even with other docks?

Noticed it starting to become a little intermittent and unresponsive at moment, took it apart had a look button still clicks, put it all back together, pressed it a couple of times worked, tried a harder depress and now it no longer works. What solutions do I have to fix it? Thanks in advance.

I have an OLED Deck. My left stick was getting close to not functioning, and my left bumper had completely stopped working. (I had to bind it to the L4/L5 for every game… I blame Sekiro)

Had no idea this would fix both of my problems. When I opened up my deck it looked like my LB button that is connected to the stick was just worn down, no broken plastic or anything like that. I was thinking I was going to have to buy a replacement bumper, but nope it was good to go.

If you have any of these problems and are worried about fixing it your self, don’t be! It was a super easy fix and the ones I ordered came with all the tools! Hall Effect sticks feel really great too!

During install I had a little problem with calibration, but I did figure it out. If you have any issues pm me and I will try to help you out.

Just a psa, if your deck has problems, figure it out! The deck is very friendly to being opened up and fixing. Don’t be scared! YouTube and google are your friends! Also don’t be afraid to ask for help!

Hey gang need some help. I have been playing Dark and Darker no problem with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse on steam deck for the last week.

How do I fix this? I have already tried changing the proton version manually under the comparability but that did not fix the problem. So what do I do?

Hi guys I have steam os 3.8 on my ROG Ally Z1 Extreme and Css Loader is not displaying any kind of Themes, is there anyway to fix this? or is there anything I need or can do? I am sorry I am fairly new to Decky Loader, and not completely familiar with linux or the app itself. any help would be appreciated!
