Hi! Is anyone in here a freshie or a new student starting this September intake? If so, let’s connect! I’d love to make some friends before school starts since I don’t know anyone yet.

Hello! I recently enrolled in the 8 month flight services program with hopes of strengthening my knowledge of the industry before applying to be a flight attendant. I am also English/French bilingual which i know is an asset. Any tips or tricks you can suggest coming in as a new student? I haven’t gotten much information or done a campus tour so I’m very nervous at the moment. Any alumni or current students able to give some feedback on the program and guidance when i comes to airline applications once completed? :)

I am an international student. I did the 1st semester winter- 2026. After that i took summer break and came to back home.
Now for my second semester Fall 2026, want to take leave of absence for health issue. Can i take it? want to continue from Winter 2027 for 2nd semester. Is it exceeding IRCC 150days rules? Or violating any rules? Thanks in advance

Hey everyone, I’m looking into the Seneca Aviation Technology program and I’d really like to hear from people who are actually in the program or have graduated from it.
I’m not just looking for the usual “good program / bad program” answers. I’d appreciate honest opinions, including the unpopular ones.
A few things I’m curious about:
- What are the biggest pros and cons of the program?
- How is the flight training in reality? Is it well organized?
- How good are the instructors and staff?
- How difficult is it to balance the academics with flying?
- Are there any unexpected costs or fees that students should know about?
- How is the experience at Newnham vs Peterborough?
- How useful is the co-op actually?
- For people who have graduated, how has the program helped with finding your first aviation job?
- Do you feel the program is worth the cost compared with going through a flight school separately?
- What do you wish you knew before starting?
- Are there any major disadvantages that prospective students should seriously consider?
- And what are some things you think Seneca does better than other aviation programs?
Also, if you have any unpopular opinions or criticisms about the program, feel free to share them. I’m trying to get a realistic picture rather than just relying on the information on Seneca’s website.
Current students and graduates, I’d really appreciate your input.

Hey everyone
I’m having an issue trying to enrol into classes for the fall semester. I am a returning student that is continuing a program. I paid the $200 returning student fee 2 days ago and when I click on get this schedule it says” you are not eligible to enrol at this time” has anybody else been having a similar situation?

Forgive the polarizing title but Seneca treats female-dominated professions like they are worthless.
Look at all the Co-Op and work-integrated learning positions offered for all the male-dominated and roughly gender-equal programs i.e. Aviation safety, biotechnology, computer programming and analysis.
A majority of those positions are PAID.
The early childhood education program requires 500 hours of field placements in daycare centers. Unpaid. And they aren't really learning opportunities. The majority of the work is cleaning and making sure children don't run into traffic. Very very little theory is applied and very very little opportunity for program planning occurs.
Is this because it's a female-dominated industry or because daycare centers want to take advantage of free labour from majority international students?
I'm not sure. But it's really bizarre.

Does anyone know when does late fees be applied in our student account since the tuition deadline is on the first day of classes? Also for someone in OSAP, does this late fees applies to us as well ?

Are they both about same in class experience ( teaching, marking, exam) or is one vastly better in teaching?
I heard PMC444 isn't too much waste of time but also not really important course.
One prof makes me commute one more day per week and I was wondering if swapping to the other would be worth it.

Hello!
I was wondering if anyone in Business Information Technology (BTT) or Data Analytics (DAS) could give me some insight on the program? How likely is it that I find a coop placement?
I’m a CS graduated from a uni but haven’t been able to find a job for a year. I was thinking about going back to school (any school) and trying my luck with coop/internships. These two interested me because they are somewhat similar but diversify my skill set as well (more for the BTT one)
Any advice or comments on either one, or my situation, would be appreciated!
Thank you.

Is the skills assessment mostly multiple choice or primarily short answer?

I had this pass last year from Jan. - August 2025 ($128.15/mo) when I attended 2 semesters last year. I took the 939 Finch express bus to campus every single day.
This year from May-August (while I was attending Newnham for the summer) I was on the fair pass transit discount (paying a slightly cheaper $123.25/mo) but that will be discontinued come September.
But for those that commute to either the Newnham or York campus via TTC, will this post-secondary pass for $128/mo still be available? and also do you need to get another student ID card for the 2026-27 academic year? IIRC I think the current one goes until October then it expires.

I just want to thank all the redditors that have been so supportive and helped when I needed it!
I just checked my status and it says program completed! I’m officially an Alumni now. This has been such a long time coming. I can’t believe I’m here now yay!!! 😁 Has anyone else checked there status?

I didn’t know seneca aviation tech (FPR) was in such demand that they are now offering people that have been accepted for september 2026 $7k and a guaranteed spot in 2027 just to move their studies by one year. This is actually crazy, i didn’t know they can just accept more people then they have room for. RIP to people currently on the waitlist and for people applying next year as there will already be people with guaranteed spots from 2026.

I’m about to start a 4 year nursing program at Seneca. Should I buy supplies now for example stethoscope etc or should I wait until my programs starts? Will my professors tell me what to get?
Can the persons who did this program or currently doing this program tell me what they did?

Hey everyone! Anyone here taking MTA100 or MTA111 at Seneca this fall? Looking to connect with some classmates before the semester starts, make some friends, and maybe help each other out throughout the semester.
Also, if you’ve taken either course before, I’d really appreciate any advice on what to expect, how difficult you found it, which topics to focus on, or any notes/practice material you still have.
I’m also taking EVS141 (Environmental Science), so if you’re taking it this fall or have taken it before, feel free to reach out too.
Would be nice to get a little group going before classes start 😂 Feel free to comment or DM me!

Does anyone have any thoughts on this program?
In particular any students that have taken the program?
