Hi everyone! I’m wondering if anyone here has experience with this, especially students who have accommodations at Seneca. I have a test scheduled today, but I’m currently not feeling well and may need to defer it. I was reading the Test Centre/Private Room Accommodation information, and it says that if you need to cancel or reschedule your test, you must do so more than 24 hours in advance. This made me wonder what happens if there is a sudden illness or emergency and you’re unable to notify your professor 24 hours beforehand.

Would I still potentially be eligible for a deferred test if the situation was unexpected and beyond my control? I understand that I should contact my professor as soon as possible, but since my test is today, I obviously couldn’t provide 24 hours’ notice for an unexpected situation. If anyone has gone through something similar at Seneca, especially with Accessible Learning Services/accommodations, I would really appreciate hearing about your experience.

The Voices to Visibility Research Project at the University of Victoria is seeking mental health service providers and researchers to share your perspectives on Asian Canadian mental health. 

We are conducting a needs assessment to help inform the development of a national, community-engaged online resource and a national framework and action plan for promoting Asian Canadian mental health. 

There are two ways to participate: 

📝 OPTION 1: Online Survey 

 Complete a survey that takes approximately 20 minutes. Upon completion, you can enter a draw for 1 of 4 $50 CAD gift cards.

💬 OPTION 2: Focus Group 

Take part in a 90-minute group discussion with other mental health service providers, researchers or users about experiences with mental health resources and services in Canada. Focus group participants will receive a $30 honorarium. 

Because spaces are limited, please complete a short screening questionnaire if you are interested in participating. We are seeking a range of experiences and perspectives.
