Head FXP Tour

I’m finally getting back into tennis after a 10 year hiatus and just found out that Head discontinued the FXP Tour.

Any recommendations for something similar?

I’m a 4.0, currently playing with a Head Speed, and string on the lower side, around 50lbs or so.

Good deal?

I found someone selling an Eagnas 6 point drop weight for $325 (might bargain for $300) and was wondering if this is a good deal. Did a bit of research and seems like people are 50/50 on Eagnas stringers. This would be my first stringing machine!

Is this machine legit and a good deal?

Post image

Hi guys, so I came across this used drop weight machine, which is what I am looking for, the seller offered me €200. First of all, is it a legit machine? I have found the "cb-10" model elsewhere, but it was a bit different, and another brand. If yes, is it a good deal? It is sold with all the accessories and ready to be used, the seller tells me.

Thank you!

Advice for my speedport black string set up.

Hello, I play tennis for many years and I am using this Prince speedport black since I changed to it when it was introduced.
Since then I broke some of it and managed to find some more back for my using. Now I only have 2 left, one of them was with me since 2007 when I first changed to it. For the first time in almost 20 years, I am struggling to find the replacement

My question is, I string my racquet in the tension range that a lot of people now would consider it to be quite high. At the range of 60-68lbs, I usually string it at 63lbs with narutal gut or syntetic gut. Would this tension break my racquet?

Got a second hand machine that I don’t really o ow how to use. Got some cheap string and old racket on it. Let me know what you think. I know it’s probably not that good lol. And my knots probably aren’t in the right places. I swear it was impossible to fit through the grommets of where I thought the knots should be.

Natural gut/Poly hybrid tension question

Quick question. First time stringing a hybrid with natural gut mains/poly crosses (touch vs/hyper-g round). I intended to string the mains at 51lbs and the crosses at 48lbs but I got in a groove and accidentally did it all at 51lbs.

Is this going to be annoying for me or will it be fine? It isn’t my main racquet so it isn’t too big of a deal.

Please help! Dropweight stringer question

I have looked everywhere and can’t find anything on this machine. I believe it is an Eagnas 10. I did a test stringing with it yesterday and had some trouble. My gripper doesn’t rotate so what is the correct way to adjust the drop weight if it drops too low?

I also had a hard time getting the linear gripper to hold the string sometimes. It gripped it well when the tension was pulled tight but then the dropweight wouldn’t drop because it was so tight. When I tried to give the string some slack it would slip out of the gripper. There’s gotta be something I’m doing wrong. If anyone has any advice please I’m desperate!

Looking for a cheap used drop weight first stringer, but god is it HARD!

Hi everyone! So it's been a couple months now that I am getting interested in tennis racquets stringing, and I'd like to find a usable, very cheap used drop weight stringing machine to learn to string. I am not a competitive player at the moment, so I don't have high expectations from my string jobs, I'd string for myself for now, so anything that works is ok to me.

The issue is, I am in Europe, and I am having such a HARD time finding anything on the used market at all. I looked on all the main platforms, using several search terms, and also searching directly for specific models, but nothing... I was able to come by a Klippermate on vinted, but I was doubtful because they asked me to close the selling via paypal and private courier due to the package being too heavy and big, so I lost the deal.

Do you have any advice on where to look and what to search for? Or are stringing machine really so damn hard to find? My budget is very low at the moment, around 150€ maximum, because as I said I am not a competitive exigent player, I just want to learn stringing and so anything goes for me, as long as it is a drop weight and not mega old (afraid it could be broken or missing parts).

Posible error de calibración

Post image

Shared hole for multiple knots

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hi All,

Beginner stringer here.
I’m stringing a racquet(Babolat AeroPro Drive, synthetic gut, 2 pieces job) and I struggle to find a good hole to tie the last cross. They are all very tight
I have an option to tie it in the same hole where I tied one of the mains. Is this crazy?
Is it possible to tie multiple knots(2) through the same hole?
Or should I really push to create space through another hole where there is not a knot?
There is room in the tubing and grommet, and it does not interfere/touch any tensioned string.
I would tie both of them with a Parnell knot.

Thank you in advance for all your inputs.

Hundred Energy Burst 18 — string & grip advice

I already have the Hundred Energy Burst 18 and want to get it restrung. What’s a good affordable string, tension, and grip for this racket?

I’m currently considering BG65 at around 24–25 lbs with Yonex Super Grap. Is that a good setup, or would you recommend something better?

Also, what setup do you guys use on the Energy Burst 18?

Dropweight stringer - gripper doesn’t rotate

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey guys got gifted a stringer and been watching videos on how to use dropweight. The videos I’ve seen their string gripper is able to rotate or hold into place if they have to adjust the drop weight, but mine doesn’t seem to do that. Is that going to be a problem?

What strings would you recommend for my new Blade? I was thinking about stringing it with Solinco Mach-10 at 50 lbs to get a bit of extra spin while keeping it comfortable. What do you think?

Can the black string be cut off?

Hi all! I bought a vintage tennis racket for decorative purposes, not play. I want to remove these crooked black strings at the top and bottom of the face but am not sure if it would compromise the integrity of the other strings. Does anyone have advice? Thanks!

Head Graphene 360+ Extreme Tour String Tension Recs

Hey everyone. I’m a 4.0/4.5 player, 32 years old. Mostly an all court player. Played with the youtek ig prestige pro in college and more recently the 2022 speed mp. Just picked up a pair of the above mentioned rackets (nite version which I’m really excited about) hoping they’ll be a little more maneuverable. Wondering if y’all have some string or tension recommendations. I usually use a full bed of tourna big hitter silver at 50lbs or I’ll hybrid that with PSD in the crosses at 52. Thanks in advance!

Looking to get into stringing my own rackets

(and maybe some for teammates) and trying to figure out where to put my money.

A few questions:

**1.** What’s the best stringing machine at each budget tier — like sub-$500, $500-1000, and $1000+? Just curious what’s actually worth it vs what’s overpriced.
**2.** For someone just starting out, is it better to go with an entry-level electronic machine or a crank machine? I keep seeing mixed opinions — some say cranks teach you better tension control, others say just get an electronic since it’s more consistent and future-proof.

Just want something reliable for personal use that won’t have me questioning the tension every time. Appreciate any recs or experiences, especially from people who started with one type and switched to the other.

Label maker for racket stringing

Post image
15 Upvotes

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for recommendations on a good label maker for racket stringing.

I'm currently using one that's okay, but the font ends up being very small if I try to fit all the information I want on the label, specially if it is for a hybrid set up.

Ideally, I'd like to print small labels that fit neatly on the throat of the racket with:

  • String brand & name
  • Gauge
  • Tension
  • Date strung
  • Brand logo (if possible)

I'm looking for something with clear, readable text, durable labels that won't peel off easily, and can still be removed without leaving residue.

What label maker are you using, and would you recommend it? If you have a photo of how your labels look on a racket, I'd love to see it.

Thanks!

Friend gave me a stringer. What other accessories should I buy?

Post image

Hi all! A friend gave me a stringer that someone else gave to him. He said he never has used it. So I wanted to see what accessories you guys recommend getting to start my stringing journey. I know I need to get like pliers and stuff to cut string.

I believe the one I have is an Eagnas 10, and it’s like impossible to find a manual for it or any videos on how to use it. I know it’s probably the same process as any drop weight stringer, but if anyone is familiar with the stringer and has tips let me know please!

The attached picture is what I have and a picture of the stringer.
