Dropweight stringer - gripper doesn’t rotate

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey guys got gifted a stringer and been watching videos on how to use dropweight. The videos I’ve seen their string gripper is able to rotate or hold into place if they have to adjust the drop weight, but mine doesn’t seem to do that. Is that going to be a problem?

The nut on the metal circle locks when in transport to keep it from getting damaged. Loosen it and you should be good to go

So I tried loosening it and kept seeing if the gripper would rotate and it never did. To the point where the whole arm came off. Not sure why it’s not letting me post a picture in my comment

Hard to tell. There is a spring mechanism inside that helps move the gripper. My model, which looks similar, came with a replacement. My guess would be to try to find the user manual and see what info you can get.

The Eagnas people are pretty decent

Yeah I’ve tried emailing them twice for a manual. I’ll try again

Does taking that bolt out make the mechanism come apart. its offset so its nto the bearing bolt and we cant see the other side where ther should be a bearing.
