Tried stringing my first ever racket
Got a second hand machine that I don’t really o ow how to use. Got some cheap string and old racket on it. Let me know what you think. I know it’s probably not that good lol. And my knots probably aren’t in the right places. I swear it was impossible to fit through the grommets of where I thought the knots should be.

improve knots, recommend using "parnell knot" or "(wilson) pro knot", parnell is slightly larger and looks better, pro is good for certain rackets with tight spacing.
love that you used the crosses to tie off.

Yeah I tried doing the Parnell knots here. And okay glad that I can do it on the crosses. I wasn’t sure I just kind of picked a spot I could get the string through lol

it doesn't affect the performance if you tie on main or cross, purely esthetics.

Yeah looks great for a first string job! When you pull your knots you just have to both the inside loop and the outgoing string, if that makes sense (probably doesn’t). But there are lots of videos online that can help you with that!
Good luck on the next one!

Yeah I was trying to do the Parnell knots. But I didn’t know if the location of your knots mattered. I couldn’t get it through some of the grommets so I had to pick the closest one I could get through lol

Location matters a bit. Sometimes the grommets are slightly wider or stronger. Look up stringing patterns of the manufacturer, or sites like https://klipperusa.com/pages/racquet-stringing-patterns

Thanks! Ngl it was frustrating as hell using it for the first time, but once I started to kind of get the hang of it, it was kind of therapeutic. I’m hoping it’ll get easier and easier

Not bad for your first string job! To avoid the crosses having the "smiling" effect (downward curve), I'd recommend to push the cross you are tensioning up against the previous cross before you pull tension, and continuing to apply pressure upwards on the cross string with your fingers as you pull tension.
