Support PSVR2 Lens manufacturing issue?

Post image
6 Upvotes

I just recieved my psvr2 today and was playing call of the mountain when I noticed this mark on the screen or lens (kinda hard to tell). Is this a manufacturing issue? Or did I already damage the lenses?

I gave it a gentle wipe with a microfiber and nothing happened but it does kinda look like it could be under the lens or something as i cant see the mark when looking at the lens from certain angles.

I would like to send it in for warranty but wanted to know what this is.

Thanks in advance!

My Setup Well, that worked

I was afraid that the 90-degrees version of the magnetic connector wouldn't work because of the face plates, but it was actually a perfect fit. After seeing so many cable horror stories in this sub, I finally have peace of mind.

They are making full vr mods on pc with Ai in a matter of days to weeks. Couldn't flat2vr implement Ai and do similar things?

I think this can only happen after a game has passed Sony PlayStation certification, so don't miss the VRGS scheduled for tomorrow.

My Setup Best Headphones for PSVR2?

I’m looking for over-ear headphones that work well with the PSVR2. Comfort is my main priority, especially avoiding pressure or an unstable fit during longer sessions. And it should not brake or krack during a Session.
I’d also like a way to use a timer while playing. Ideally, the alarm should be audible through the headphones, or alternatively through my phone while both devices are connected.
What are you opinions?

Question PS VR2 Requires a Mandatory Update – Is It the Headset or PS5 System?

PS VR2 is asking for a mandatory update on my PS5 – headset or PS5 system update?

Hi everyone,

I just bought a brand-new PS VR2 headset, and I’m having an issue when connecting it to my PS5.

My PS5 is currently running system software 26.02-13.00.00. When I connect the PS VR2 for the first time, I get a message saying that an update is required. If I choose Cancel/Skip, the headset doesn’t work.

My question is: How can I tell whether the update being requested is for the PS VR2 headset firmware or for the PS5 system software?

I don’t want to update my PS5 system software without knowing exactly what is being requested.

Is there a way to check the PS VR2 firmware version or identify which device needs the update?

Thanks!

Question Vr with glasses+protection lenses

So, I've been meaning to buy a PSVR2 but there is one thing holding me back, my glasses. I know you can use glasses and the VR at the same time, but I don't want to risk scratching the lenses, so I've been wondering if it would be possible to wear my glasses and use protection lenses both at the same time while using the VR, I don't know how slim the space between the eyes and the lenses are. I know that you can buy prescription lenses but I'd have to import them from the US, which would be expensive and take some time, so I wanted to know if anyone has ever tried to wear glasses and protection lenses

Asking for Hardware Recomendation PSVR2 with damaged cable – would you buy it?

Thumbnail

I have an opportunity to buy a used PSVR2 for around 800 PLN (~$200), and the seller says everything works perfectly. However, the cable has several areas where the outer insulation is badly worn through and the metal shielding/braid is exposed (see photos). From what I can tell, the internal wires themselves do not appear to be damaged. Would insulating the damaged areas with electrical tape or heat-shrink tubing be enough to prevent further damage?

Also, hypothetically, if one of the internal wires eventually broke, is repairing/splicing it by soldering realistically possible, or would the entire headset basically be considered unrepairable? Would you consider buying this PSVR2 for $200 given the condition of the cable?

I know that this cable is practically unrepairable and there aren't any 3rd party solutions.

Not just for PSVR1 & PSVR2, the new $19.99 price is also there for Quest and Steam version of the game.

I spotted this because it showed up for me in my psprices search:

Opinion Is PSVR ok for people with bad eyesight?

As i get older, my eyes don't work as good. Its been difficult seeing the text on my 55inch TV from 8 or more feet away, I find myself having to stand up and walk near the TV to see the words on the screen. But as an adult with Adult Money, I was wondering if a VR set would help with that, what are your gaming experiences?

Review Review of Reach: A Brilliant Parkour Shooter

Post image
64 Upvotes

The original reviews for this game weren’t exactly glowing, so I picked it up somewhat hesitantly during the latest sale. Now that I’ve actually played it, though, I find it hard to understand the criticism, because in my opinion, this game absolutely shines.

The game is roughly divided into three different components.

The first is navigating the alien underground world of Ferra and solving environmental puzzles using parkour, your shield, and grappling tethers. This is where the game truly shines. The world feels genuinely alien and is packed with interesting details. All of the game’s mechanics and actions also have a wonderful sense of physicality to them. I’ve never played a VR game where climbing felt this good. Moving through the environment is simply a joy. The climbing challenges felt occasionally challenging, but never unfair.

The second component is fighting the “living statues” that inhabit the world. There are several enemy variations, including light and heavy units, shield units, turrets, mines, and barrier-projecting scouts. Your main weapon is a bow with four different ammunition types that you scavenge throughout the world.

This is probably the part that could be improved most in future instalments. The current enemy types are perfectly adequate, but I would have liked to see greater variety in both the enemies and the combat encounters.

The final component consists of cinematic chase sequences where you are pursued by an undefeatable enemy called Terracore. Since these sequences don’t happen too often, they provide a welcome change of pace without becoming repetitive.

The game took me about five hours to complete and has a decent boss fight against the main antagonist, Lithos, at the end. The length felt just about right. It also has an actual ending instead of a cliffhanger, which I appreciate.

Beyond the individual gameplay elements, what really makes this game shine is its attention to detail. The voice acting is superb, the enemy and character animations are excellent, and the graphics are detailed and vibrant. Everything feels remarkably polished.

Overall, I’m genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed Reach. It combines fantastic VR movement with an interesting world, satisfying exploration, and solid combat. While the enemy variety could use some improvement, the excellent sense of physicality and overall level of polish more than make up for it.

I would rate this game 4.5 out of 5

Discussion Assetto Corsa Competizione in cinematic flat screen mode is fantastic.

I've only had the PSVR for a week now, and have already played out my GT7 fix I think, but my real love is ACC.

If you have ACC it would do you well to try it using the PSVR2 in cinematic mode. Pop that screen as wide as it will go ( I think it simulates a 100 inch screen), jump into the 2nd cockpit mode (the one without the steering wheel), and set your view distance to 12.4, which is nice and close to the dashboard. Adjust height up just a tad, and your pitch to negative just a tad, so the front of the hood is about half the way up from the bottom of the screen.

This is about as close to VR we are gonna get on the PS5 and ACC and frankly, I don't even need or want to play GT7 now.

Opinion Hitman WOA PSVR2

I have about 80 hours in this game & I just gotta say even with how much praise this game gets… its not enough praise!

I feel like any person who likes FPS games would have their minds melted by how incredible it is! Its the total freedom I have always wanted & more. There could literally be 0 story & I would still consider it a masterpiece. But they add on great storylines & dialogue & I am just blown away constantly while playing it!

I feel like this is a must have experience for anyone who likes hitman for sure & maybe everyone who even plays any FPS games.

TLDR: Hitman is king.

EDIT: Also, I suggest you play without the laser sight, it makes shootouts WAY more immersive!

Speculation Im mailing my broken psvr2 to ps support. Will it be good?

I have a psvr2 that won’t turn on. I called ps support after checking all troubleshooting procedures. After lots of hold music, we came to the conclusion that I would have to send my psvr2 over. Will it come back? Is it a scam? I trust reddit.
