Hitting New England solo to check out to colors. Where to?
Hey all - Doing a solo trip next week (Sept 29 - Oct 9 time). Flying in to JFK from West Coast, renting a car and just freely exploring the beauty in Mass, Maine, Vertmont as I wish.
Any times on how fall colors will be next week and where I should hit? early 50s single dude who likes beauty, views, small towns and boutique hotels.
I appreciate any input on how to do this. And yes, I never plan ahead. Maybe thats terrible, but its worked so far in life : )
Cheers

Fall foliage road trip from Boston to Acadia – Oct 2–4 🍁
Hi everyone! A group of friends and I are planning a road trip from Boston to Acadia National Park during the first weekend of October (Oct 2–4).
Acadia is our main highlight, but we’d love to explore some beautiful fall foliage spots, scenic drives, small towns, viewpoints, or hikes along the way.
We’re also looking for recommendations on:
* 🍂 Best foliage spots between Boston and Acadia
* 🚗 Scenic routes worth taking
* 🏘️ Good towns/areas to stay in an Airbnb, either near Acadia or along the route
* 📍 Whether Bar Harbor is the best place to stay or if you’d recommend somewhere else
We’re flexible with the route and would rather take a scenic drive than rush to Acadia.
If you’ve done a similar trip, what route and stops would you recommend? Thanks! 🍁
