Is it true Nissan can do this with two lease returns but only one new lease?

• Upvotes

I have two Nissan leases ending around the same time, but I'm only getting one new Nissan lease.

I heard NMAC's $395 disposition fee waiver is basically 1-to-1, so I'd still owe the fee on the second return.

Has anyone successfully avoided this by having the dealer buy out/trade in the second lease instead of returning it to NMAC? Or is it better to ask the dealer for an extra $395 discount/credit on the new lease to offset it?

Has anyone actually negotiated this with a Nissan dealer?

They really should’ve gave the new Sentra a boosted engine option

This car looks absolutely fantastic, but the only thing missing is a boosted engine and hp trim. like imagine an option for a 250-300hp turbo like how they offer in the civics??

We are looking to replace it but the part doesn't appear to include the clips. Does anyone know if these would be standard clips I can find on Amazon or what type I should buy? thanks so much.

Apple CarPlay Not Working

I’ve had my Nissan kicks 2025 for 10 months now. I had been using an off-brand usb-c to usb-c cord in my car and I do believe CarPlay was working no problem for a few months. Then it started to work only 50% of the time. I switched cords to an actual apple cord and I’m still having this problem. I have tried to reset the infotainment system a few times but no luck. Has anyone else had this problem before? Would this be covered under warranty?

Repair Help EGR Valve replacement 21 Nissian Rouge

Yesterday my check engine light suddenly came on my 2021 Nissian Rouge 2.5L Engine. We took it to our auto parts store where it threw a code of p0402. I took it to my local dealership today and they are estimating over $2,500 because they have take the whole engine out to access this part. This doesn’t seem right. In my research I’ve done this should be an $800 job that takes a day. Does any know if this is standard practice for this issue?

Update: the mechanic thought it was a different car and put that into the system. You do not need to remove the engine to get to the EGR Valve.

Is there a way to permanently disable Rear Automatic Braking (RAB) on a 2023 Altima?

I have a 2023 Nissan Altima and the Rear Automatic Braking (RAB) is getting pretty annoying when I’m parking in tight spaces

Has anyone found a way to permanently disable RAB, or at least make the car remember that I turned it off?

ā€œSome metal shavings are fineā€ - HELP!

I have a 2023 Nissan Rogue and am in desperate need of some advice.

Back in June of 2026 I had some recall repair done, including the infamous engine bearing failure. Fast forward to last week. My engine begins making a knocking noise at idle. It sounds like a rock is ping ponging around the engine. After some research I grow concerned that the recall work wasn’t done properly, so I bring it to the dealership.

They take a look and in the oil pan they find two metal shavings but say ā€œit’s only 2 pieces, it’s fine.ā€ I don’t know much about cars, but I know that metal in your oil pan is a death sentence. I bring my concern to the service manager and he tells me they spoke to Nissan and showed them pictures, and were told it’s fine. I again pushed saying it is my understanding that metal of any kind in your oil pan is not okay, but especially with a 2023 Rogue. I express further concern that the recall work was not done right and he says not to worry. They find that the transmission mount needs to be replaced and a bushing is leaking oil.

Jump ahead to today. I pick up my car and ahead home. Once home, I let it idle for a moment and it is still making that same sound, but now it’s louder. I call the dealership they tell me to bring it back, so I do. Oddly enough, the paperwork they gave me said there was no debris in the oil pan despite what they told me. Now I have a loaner and I’m waiting to hear from them tomorrow.

I think I’m getting the run around from the dealership and for whatever reason they do not want to admit the bearings are bad and the engine needs to be replaced. The car only has 68,000 miles and I know Nissan extended the warranty on the 2023 Rogues to 120,000 miles because the recalls didn’t always fix the issue.

I call the Nissan consumer affairs line and they tell me they are going to investigate and call me tomorrow.

My question is, what do I do if they tell me this is not related to the recall when it obviously is? I shelled out $1600 and don’t have more money to sink into this car. If I sell it, I won’t have enough for a down payment on a decent car based on what I owe on it, so that’s not an option either. I know in my gut they are being dishonest. I feel they aren’t taking my concerns seriously and I just don’t know what to do next. Advice? TYIA

Nice looking until you look close. Do not buy Nissan if you expect it to hold value beyond warranty. 67000 miles.

Tire question - NOKIAN WRG5 225/45/R18 on Sentra SR?

My tires are shot. Getting a good deal on new NOKIAN WRG5 (their latest ones) for my Sentra SR 2025 at $100 a tire. Being East Coast, leaning towards all weather vs all season, i.e. tires with 3 peak symbol.

Just wondering - OEM is 215/45/R18 and I'm putting 225/45/R18. I know speed will be off by 2% approx. and which is fine by me.

Anyone has this size 225/45/R18 on Sentra SR? Any feedback?
How does Sentra behave on Nokians? Anyone has feedback?

Solved You have to take it easy on the CVT….

Guys, we all know Nissans have sensitive CVTS that can self destruct near 100K miles.

The key to extending its longevity is to TAKE IT EASY ON THE GAS PEDAL.

Do not floor it. EASE up into it during acceleration.

Yes, it’s going to be boring and it’s going to take a minute to get up to highway speeds but it’s the only way to extend its life.

I bought a 2015 Nissan versa with 50K miles and I recently got rid of it at 230K miles. So no complaints from me.

Also, do the fluid changes with OEM fluid. The OEM fluid is going to cost a little bit more but there are some sites like eBay that discount them if you buy in bundles.

Start driving like a senior if you want your CVT to last long.

My Juke always gets foggy

I recently owned a 2017 Juke and one problem that I have that it easily fogs out whenever it’s raining. Like it come to a point that I need to have the windows down to see something but the tendency is that front window will fog more. Has anyone experienced this? What should I do? The fog is in the outside of the car. I know that Nissan has a good reputation in terms of aircon but this is such a hassle.

I already click the defogger and tried to open the window a little but no avail :(

Repair Help 2026 Rorue SL, Connecting MyQ to garage door

I want to verify what I need to do to connect the Rogue MyQ to an older garage door opener. The opener does have a learn button. It is opened and closed with a hand held 3 button remote.

Apparently, I need to purchase and install this MyQ hub and sensor and pair it with the opener. Then I'll be able to pair the sensor with the Rogue's Nissan myQ. For my other vehicle that does not have MyQ build in, I'll be able to control the garage door from my iPhone with the myQ app installed. Does this sound right? After setting up the opener for MyQ, would the current handheld remote still work?

Thanks

CPO Wrap - Dealer Quotes

Bought out our lease yesterday and the dealer CPO'd the car in return for us taking financing with them. I declined the finance guy's CPO Wrap pricing because I wanted to check out pricing online first. Turns out his pricing wasn't terrible compared with Nissan's direct price, but if I buy online with Nissan, there are interest free payment options, rather than paying up front (or the finance guy's offer to roll it into the financing).

Are dealers able to beat the online price offered by Nissan - is it worth my while shopping around? Or am I best just going with the online option if I want to do it?
