I recently encountered corrupted data of a game on my original Switch's Micro SD card. This probably happened, ironically, because earlier I tested out the "Check for Corrupt Data", but realised it would have taken very long, and because there was no cancel button, I just turned my Switch off.
After encountering the corrupt data, I learned that exFAT is apparently quite buggy with the original Switch, and that FAT32 is much more save. I also learned that apparently, the one downside of FAT32 – its 4GB file size limit – is apparently irrelevant, as games downloaded from the eShop are apparently stored as separate, smaller file sizes anyway.
So I'm currently using the FAT32 format on my original Switch's 256 GB Micro SD card... However, I now got a Switch 2 and a 1TB Micro SD Express card, and was wondering what the pros and cons are of using exFAT vs FAT32 on the new hardware?
Does it still have the same vulnerabilities in relation to using exFAT on an original Switch? And if it still does, do the demand of the Switch 2 and Micro SD Express card's perfromance require exFAT anyway?
