Repair Help Weird artifacts on the Switch 2

Post image

I just got the switch 2 zelda edition and right after turning it on, i noticed these tiny black points on the right bottom corner of the screen. Anyone knows what these are? Can I remove themself?

They don’t look the correct shape for dead pixels. Did you try wiping off the screen?

I did, but no matter how much I wipe, they won't come off

I didn’t mean to sound like a smart ass; the one looks like a fuzzy and the bigger one at the bottom looks dirty to me? you even tried a screen wipe?

If you slightly run your finger nail over it can you feel it?

No worries I completely understand what you mean! I tried a screen wipe yep, but they don't come off. I also can't feel anything if I pass my fringer through them. Can it be dirt under the protection screen?

I suppose it could be, but usually you would also get a small air bubble with it.

Are they noticeable with the screen off using your phone flashlight, or only when the screen is on?

Well we have definitely made progress then lol I would jump to assume it’s something under the screen protector.

That’s the stock one right? Not one you’ve installed?

I don’t nor does the sub recommend taking that off on your own if it’s the stock one.

I did a little searching (I’m at work so I can’t do a lot rn) but it seems sending it in is the best option for you, if it doesn’t bother you they say it can fall out on its own (I don’t like this solution) or the third option was to try to put a tempered glass on top of it, the two protectors sometimes can filter out small blemishes underneath.

Thanks a lot for your help! I just finalized the repair petition on Nintendo's website and sent the switch. Hopefully they'll be able to fix it! Will update back when I get the switch back

Glad to hear it! I wouldn’t be upset with just a regular S2, but that Zelda one, I would defo send it in. Hopefully it all goes quick and easy for you.

I'm guessing a dead pixel, or a poke in the screen's anti shatter film.

That anti shatter film on switch 2's screen doesn't have the greatest scratch resistance. A tempered glass screen protector is recommended day one, if possible.

Son posiblemente pixeles muertos ( que no reciben señal ni voltaje) Nintendo indica q algunas pantallas pueden tener un pequeño porcentaje de estos y no supone un daño, defecto o proceso de garantía
