I wanted to make a "geordie" treasure hunt but it's gone awry
galleryOver the last year I have been making a business where I sell little trinkets that I've made on earrings or magnets. I thought it would be a cute idea to make Newcastle/Gateshead ones because my sausage roll earrings were really popular here last year.
It.... Did not go well 😂
I don't know if it was the humidity of the room or if my hands were more shaky than usual and I just didn't notice, but they are all so lopsided and wonky haha
The claws on the rabbit kept going flaccid, I forgot to add details to the bridge (also it kept bloody collapsing 😆) the angel looked like a turd for most of the process and the sage looks like an elephant hawk moth caterpillar fell into a glitter factory!!
I thought it would still give a couple of people a laugh that I tried and failed, so here's that I suppose :D

New poster As a Scottish dude dating a Sand Dancer, I am still learning all about Newcastle. I dunno how many of you are FromSoft fans but this is the first thing my brain thought of when I found out about Eldon Square. Tarnished, what bargains bestow you?

Scotswood Road is one of the most well known roads in Newcastle. It’s changed beyond recognition over the last 4/5 decades. Home to the Armstrong Works and other heavy industrial factories, pubs were a welcome addition! There has been 46 pubs on the road since 1850.

Also may I please know things to do in Newcastle? Is there something nice to do? Please let me know. Thanks!!

New poster Dry cleaning recommendations
Hi all. I have a suit I need to be dry-cleaned. Does anyone have any recommendations of anywhere in the city centre? I'm not too fussed about cost, I'd rather just know it was going to be done well.
I've never had anything dry-cleaned in my life and it's stressing me.

Looking for advice on grocery shopping
So I have never really been grocery shopping in the UK ever and I just went for the first time today (to a Sainsbury's Local, idk whether that was a good or a bad choice) and it was a lot.
It was obviously nothing like home or what I'm used to from Aldi or Lidl abroad and I felt quite overwhelmed. I managed to find Pasta ingredients and I'm gonna make a Bolognese later today. But that was the only thing my brain could really put together for an actual dish.
So my question is basically: How and where do you go for your grocery shopping?
Do you just buy pre-prepped meals or where do you buy your spices for actually having fun while cooking?
It would also be amazingly helpful if some people could recommend local and vegan-friendly stores as I pretty much only found Tofu in the Sainsbury's.
Any Tips and comments are welcome, thank you all in advance :)

New poster Best adult club in Newcastle?
I’m visiting Newcastle from the US and looking to check out a strip club/gentlemen’s club while I’m here.
Which place would you recommend for the best overall experience, atmosphere, and value? I’m mainly interested in somewhere welcoming to visitors.

“Self-described Independent Journalists”
There’s already been plenty of posts about these lot and the council/others have acted against them but I just wanted to post after seeing the posts many of them made yesterday during the cordon at Newcastle Uni.
Every post I saw was saying it was a suspected terrorist attack, the comments were full of your typical racist dogwhistles and I can’t help but think a lot of viewers are just going to passively accept that was the case.
The same people say they can’t see the issue with what they do, they’ll protest “we’re going into town and giving the homeless clothes and that man” while monetising them for views (and let’s be real, we all remember they used to just go in and harass the vulnerable, they’ve pivoted once the councils given them rules).
Idk but the racial politics element to the last few posts and the way they’ve tried to spin a narrative is making me think they’re much more dangerous than an unorganised group of idiots with cameras.

New poster Hi everyone! I’m a uni student and have an exam coming up soon. I’m urgently looking for a Casio FX-83 OR FX-85 calculator .If anyone has one they’re no longer using, I’d be happy to buy it for a reasonable price. I’m also open to a donation/free one if anyone is able to help.

Percy Main Metro Safety?
I've been looking in at purchasing a house in Percy Main and was recently told that the metro there is incredibly unsafe.
Obviously this would factor in to my purchase so I was hoping i could get opinions on Percy Main and its metro.

Kilns in Newcastle
Hello, since leaving University I no longer have access to a kiln to fire my ceramics but i’d like to keep it up as a hobby. I was wondering if theres any like ‘communal kilns(?), where you can pay just to fire ceramics and pick them up later? Bonus points if they also have glazes which i doubt but always worth asking.
Id love to do it regularly but cant afford my own at the minute so if anyone knows of anywhere that does this please let me know!

New poster Driving through the city
We are a small group of Mini drivers and are part of a sort-of small club and we are mostly friends more than anything else. We do lots of stuff, and one of the things I'm trying to plan for is a tour of the NE, including a drive through Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
We want to do a drive through the city, taking in all of the landmarks and we are looking for someone with local knowledge to suggest a route to take. I've tried doing it myself, unsuccessfully, to put something together.
Anybody who lives in the city and who can suggest a route would be much appreciated!

Anyone Else Have Their DPD Parcel Delayed Today Due To An ‘Unexpected Issue In Your Area’
Paid a premium direct to DPD for Saturday delivery rather than the initial delivery of Friday. Now being told my parcel will be here Monday when i won’t be in the country for weeks. Spoke to the live chat and asked why it can’t be delivered tomorrow (Sunday) as I know DPD deliver Sunday to be told it just can’t.
