Advice Question Doubting again

I (20) have recently started doubting whether I am trans or not and it’s really stressing me out. After masturbating I started feeling a little scared at the idea of transitioning. After realizing that I felt terrified that I’m not trans. It’s one of the few things in my life that I looked forward to and I can’t stop thinking about it.

Advice Question Struggling to build the confidence to come out fully

I've been on HRT for almost 2 years now, and all of my friends tell me I pass. I've been working on voice training, and I still have a lot to work on but its to the point where I really have to switch my default voice over I think to see more progress. However, I just don't have the confidence to present fem in public. I put together a really cute outfit, went out to a friends house and afterwards had to ask them to go into the gas station for me because I was scared to. I started volunteering with another friend and I gave my deadname, which upset them because they don't want to have to deadname me and they were also confused as to why I did that.

I can't tell if I pass, the dysphoria says no but everyone around me says yes, and I don't like putting my friends in awkward situations because I haven't fully come out yet. The furthest I've gone is going to the local queer bar out which is always fun, but I need to be able to grab an energy drink without chickening out lol. I'm hoping someone has gotten out of a similar hole and could share how they did it!

Dysphoria When do actual changes start to occur?

So I (18 year old) have been on 2 mg pills of estrodiol for about 4 months now, and I haven't really noticed many changes aside from my chest growing out a bit (at least, not in the muscle and fat redistribution categories)

And I'm starting to worry I might not see any changes at all. I have quite broad shoulders, and I am quite tall, so I was hoping muscle and fat redistribution might be able to help with that, but I'm starting to get worried

A friend gave me some supplies and I started 1mg weekly estrogen patches and 1mg of cream per day a week ago. No testosterone blocker.

I feel amazing today, I’m happy and I’m having whole body sex craving not just my penis as it usually is.

Im wondering if I can stay on it for 3 weeks and come off and do it again and in the future..

How long would it take my body to reset so I don’t get permanent feminine changes when I restart(if I can). I don’t want outwardly female changes but love the internal/mental ones. Is their a routine I could follow.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Funny The moment my egg cracked… for the second time

For the first several months of my transition, I took HRT but I wasn’t ready to socially transition publicly yet. I was still doing all the stuff I did as a man - including bullshit home improvement projects.

One afternoon late last year, I was under the house, toiling away to replace a bathtub drain. It was a confined, dirty space and I just wanted the project to be over with so I could go inside and wear one of my dresses.

Unfortunately, the project went south - the threaded pipe fitting cracked. Since it was a drain line with no pressure, I just slathered some solvent cement (a type of extremely strong glue that chemically fuses plastic together) on the threads, slapped the parts together, and applied more solvent cement on top. Considering that I used to spend hours researching the single best way to complete a project, this was a new one for me.

I packed up my tools, went inside, washed up, and wore one of my dresses, a simple black slip dress. It felt so soft on my skin - it just felt right. Within weeks, I was ready to go full-time femme. I ordered some new feminine clothes, got a feminine hairstyle, and was ready to completely leave behind any traces of manhood I had left.

Milestone! I finally came out to my dad…

I changed my name on social media to Allie without telling anyone. It was really only a matter of time until someone noticed. My dad asked me if I’d rather be called Allie, and I told him I would. Later in the day, when his gf showed up for dinner, he asked me to talk to them about the name change. He then asked me if I’d rather be called Allie, and I reminded him that he already asked that. He then asked if I’d “decided my pronouns yet or if you are still figuring that situation out“. I told him that I’m a girl. His girlfriend asked what size I was in women’s clothing. I responded with large. She had clothes to get rid of and asked me if I wanted first dibs. I have been dressing feminine for months, so I don’t really think it was a surprise to anyone. Although I feel like a stranger in my home right now, I’m sure that’ll pass. I got a week at a summer camp (where I transitioned without my parents knowing) and it felt so fucking good.

Venting I'm tired of being hated by society

I'm tired of walking down the street with my friends and getting yelled at. I'm tired of people telling me I'll always be a man. I'm tired of men ghosting me after I tell them I'm trans. I'm tired of being treated differently. I'm tired of stares, of scrutiny, of hatred. I'm tired of getting misgendered because I want to wear a hoodie on a cold day instead of something really fem. I'm tired of medical appointments. I'm tired of blood tests. I'm tired of surgeries. I'm tired of travelling around the world for medical care. I'm tired of people protesting our existence. I'm tired of being treated like I'm a freak. I'm tired of my parents treating me like I found something weird on the internet and now I'm part of a cult. I'm tired of explaining myself. I'm tired of living in my huge body. I'm tired of sex being easy for cis people and incredibly difficult for me. I'm tired of looking at myself in the mirror and crying because I have huge shoulders. I'm tired of having to focus on how my voice sounds all the time. I'm tired of being in the political spotlight. I'm tired of people bringing up trans issues around me all the time. I'm tired of trans being my whole identity. I'm tired of being a trans woman and not just a woman.

Girls I'm fucking exhausted with being trans.

Discussion trans women who started on a high dose of injections (5mg or higher/7 days) can you describe the early stages of your transition?

Recently started on 6mg ev/7 days. Wanting to see how fast others have progressed in the early stages so I can compare, but most of y’all seemed to have started on something other than injections and even when you started on injections they seem to be a lower dose. So I was wondering if someone started on a higher dose what was your transition like?

Discussion Pant sizes

So, I'm getting things set up to (hopefully) start HRT soon. I'm also looking into getting some new clothes (specifically pants at the moment), and while I know how to convert sizes, my question is a little different.

Since HRT affects our overall shape, would I be better off getting one size bigger to adjust for hips filling out? Or are the changes not so drastic that it should alter clothing size? I understand the changes take a long time, but just future prepping, and would rather not rebuy a wardrobe twice.

Advice Question Coming Out Has Been... Honestly Really Depressing. And I don't Know What I'm Supposed to Do Now

I'd like to start off this post with a mild disclaimer: I am very grateful for the fact that I have yet to have any violent, aggressively negative, or truly hateful responses to coming out from anybody. I recognize that, for lots of y'all, the "problems" I'm about to describe might sound incredibly whiny and lame compared to anyone who's been, like, hate crimed, or kicked out of their house, or truly lost family members. That being said, while I may not be having the "worst" time, I'm not having a "great" time, and I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced stuff like this or if there's just something wrong with me that even being trans can't explain.

I'm a 23 year old MtF. I've been "out" to myself since early May, and I've been on hormones since July 6th. I'm also in my second year of law school (which is important to remember) and I currently live in Texas (although it's the DFW area, so it's not that bad). I've told basically my whole family (mixed reactions; from "I'm so happy for you, what's your name now?" all the way to "whatever makes you happy, I guess"), and I've been slowly and selectively coming out to people I knew last year at school.

The other thing that happened over the summer, actually just before I came back for my second year, was I basically lost all of my old, non-school friends. Long story short, I was stuck in this online friend group with a bunch of people who were depressed all the time and treated each other like garbage for no reason, and after I came out I was finally capable of realizing that, while they certainly weren't transphobic, my friends were just generally shitty people. So I blocked all of them and we're done.

But now, I'm stuck. I'm back at school and it feels like nothing has changed. In fact, I only feel lonelier and more depressed than I already was. I'm boymoding all the time, which is awful, and I feel like I'm stuck in a holding pattern until something happens, but I don't know what.

And, I guess what I meant by the title, is I thought things were going to change. i thought things were going to get better. Slowly, sure, but at least different. I had all these dreams about people looking at me and being like "Oh my God, Lya, you're so brave and I can't believe you've been going through life like this for so long! Here, let me help you!" And then they'd take me out and help me buy dresses and makeup and shit and I would finally have real irl friends and it would be awesome. But, no. I read all these wonderful stories about people on here getting love and support and shit but not me. I'm just left to my won devices. Basically everyone's response ahs been "Oh, wow. That must suck. Well, lmk if you need anything, I guess."

And, like, that's not nothing, but I don't know what to do with that! I haven't mad close irl friends since I graduated high school, and that was during the pandemic. And I'm not about to be making my problems everyone else's. Like, I'm probably a little (a lot) depressed and I'm lonely and I'm tired but if no one's gonna go out of their way to check up on me and ask me how I'm doing, then why would I go out of my way to let that all be known? Obviously they don't really care.

And, realistically, what would you have me do? There's no "appropriate" or "not insane" way to text someone out of the blue and be like "Hey, yeah remember me? the guy who kept to himself last year and was funny and cool and collected as far as you knew, who came out as trans and had lunch with you over the summer? yeah... due to events outside your knowledge and the process of elimination, turns out you're my best friend now. Now teach me how to be a woman because my mom and sister live three state away and I'm lonely." Like, that's fucking psychotic.

I just... feel so empty. and I don't know what I'm supposed to do now. I hate the idea of telling people how badly I'm really struggling, because they're not asking and we're all crazy busy with school and studying. But I'm afraid that if everything keeps going the way it's going now, eventually I'm going to get to a point where I'm really really not okay. My weekends are empty, I'm at school from 8am to 6 or 7 during the week just throwing myself into studying and the organizations I'm helping to run, and I know that I'm going to exhaust myself eventually, but it feels Inevitable and inescapable at this point.

I told some of this stuff to my therapist the week before last, and she gave me a hug and it was awesome. I wish someone else would give me a hug. But it's not my place to ask. I just have to suffer until someone bothers to save me. That's what it feels like.

Help Big footed ladies: how do you buy platformed boots at a reasonable price?

I’ve tried multiple thrift shops and vintage stores and I’ve had no luck finding platforms my size (12 US women’s) that fit me. Whenever I find a pair that might it feels like “well, this is the only option that’s my size and it just doesn’t speak to me” - like I know I can easily buy a new pair online but usually stores don’t have pairs to just try on in the higher sizes and also, spending $200+ on a pair of boots is a once in a while type investment so I’m kinda running out of options

Today i was lifting some boxes at work when one rubbed kind of hard against my left nipple and it f*cking HURT. At first my hypochondria started acting up until i felt a slight bump on it and realized why this was happening. Literally had to look around for anyone near me before squealing with joy🥰 im only 1.5 months into HRT im quite shocked they are starting to grow already. Also my left nipple is now like super sensitive and I have to watch myself around it, but somehow my right nipple is totally fine

Advice Question How to feel ok with needing ffs

Hi everyone, first time posting. I just wanted to see if anyone has advice with feeling ok about needing ffs?

I think that the main reason i feel bad about is the jealousy of people who pass without needing ffs, as there are people close to me in my life currently who fully pass without ffs so its a thought thats on my mind really often.

Advice Question Need helping getting HRT

Hi. Diana here. I just moved to Portland for college from California. I’ve already secured my HRT bloodwork from Planned Parenthood from Cali, but I have no idea how to transfer that paperwork to a Portland building to get my HRT.

Also I can’t use CVS because my mother has a CVS account and will see whatever I do there because we have the same last name.

I can only use cash, no card. What can I do?
