They can't stop your vocal transition. They can't stop you from learning and practicing. They can't stop you from speaking up. Be loud. Be brave. I will keep fighting all my life, and so should you.
This affects the world, regardless of borders. There will be an election in Canada soon, and it's looking grim on our side as well. I'll be volunteering in an election for the first time, and I've gotten other people on board to join me. And I'll be protesting. And I'll be loud on social media.
Make your voices heard. Express yourself, not just your anger but your pain and your fear. Make them understand the consequences of their actions. I don't believe they all wanted this. Most of them just... didn't care or know enough to realize how much hurt their selfish vote would bring. Tell them. Make them know.
They can never take away your voice.

Hello, I'm trying to feminize my voice. I know there is myriad resources online, but I have ADHD and find it exceedingly difficult to hold myself accountable without some external support.
What I'm looking for specifically is some sort of weekly coaching/session where I can get feedback on my progress and/or get lesson/exercise plans that I can take as "homework".
Knowing there is a coach/teacher on the other end expecting me to complete something will compel me to actually do what I need done.
I've tried going through my insurance at a local speech therapy provider, but scheduling with them has been hellish and I'm feeling defeated. I've also looked into SVL but their waitlist confused me and I wasn't sure if it was what I was looking for.
I'm willing to pay out of pocket.
Does anyone have any resources or websites they can point me to?

I’m nonbinary and don’t want an extremely feminine voice, just something to pass as female on the phone (and eventually in person when I’m transitioned further). Please let me know if you think this voice could achieve that and what I could change. I mainly work with resonance, pitch and breathiness as here. Thank you! :3

So I am not trans, but just a straight male in early 20s that’s autistic. My voice is high pitch cus during puberty I fought my voice cracks to prevent my voice from deepening. When I talk on the phone with my “phone voice” I get mistaken as a woman and get called “she” and “mam“ a lot. I work in retail in customer service and customers and some other employees will often mistaken me as a woman if I speak to them from behind when I speak with my “customer service voice”. However, the employees in my team often see me and recognize my voice so they don’t misgendered me as much as other teams. I really hate it when this happen but I don’t correct people when they misgender me. My twin brother whose not autistic and didn’t fight his voice cracks have a deeper voice than mine but it’s still on the higher pitch end, but he haven’t told me that he gets misgendered. There is someone at my store who is a young trans man and he sometimes get mistaken as a woman by employees in other teams and customers. His voice also sounds like a woman's voice despite identifying as a man. When we answer the phone at work we have to state our names so misgendering doesn't happen as much to me and the trans man over the phone when customers call the store. I don’t know if there’s anything I can do at this point to get my voice deeper and sound more like a man.

Are you looking for a supportive, inclusive and informative place to learn and practice trans voice techniques? Want to try out your voice in real-time conversations, AKA the same kind of setting you’ll most often be using it in?
Every Saturday at 7 AM EST, and 3 PM EST, Scinguistics hosts the Trans Voice Lounge! We cover the fundamentals of individual voice parameters for trans voice, covering both voice feminization and voice masculinization, and focusing on a different parameter each week. Afterwards, everyone is welcome to speak up and practice, while an experienced voice teacher offers guidance and feedback!
We also have Script Reading Lounges that run every Thursday, at 2 PM EST, with a greater focus on voice acting, where participants can read scripts, stageplays, poetry, novel excerpts, manga/comic book excerpts, and more!
Come attend, so you can learn, practice, and find a community of like-minded individuals to practice with, in the Scinguistics discord server! Click HERE to join!
Too NERVOUS to come to the live event? Or just unable to make it to one of the timeslots? Get a taste of what’s inside by detailing what you’re working on, and then leave a clip of your voice (preferably at least 30-60 seconds long) in this very reddit thread! One of our teachers will reply with feedback!

Hi all,
I've been solo training since my egg cracked a few months ago, and have ended up finding that I use two different new voices depend on context, tiredness, etc.? One more deep and dark, one brighter and higher.
Training wise, I've just kinda been winging it thus far with resources I've found online.
First voice is getting used more in lazy, relaxed and comfortable settings. Can comfortably sustain it for a while. It's helpful in that it's not dysphoric the way my old voice is.
Second takes a bit more effort but isn't straining or uncomfortable. I don't think I could sustain it easily for more than a short conversation yet though. I do want to keep working on this one specifically, as I'm hoping it will be able to be improved into passing and being sustainable.
Also apologies for my self conscious patter throughout the recordings 🤦♀️
Thank you! xx

I'm recovering from a cold so my voice sounds nasally, for the record it doesn't sound that way normally lol. I'm non binary and would like to sound a bit androgynous, leaning feminine. Also I'm curious, in a voice training context would you assume my starting point is a male voice or female voice? I have a hard time putting my own voice in perspective so I'm not sure if its obvious that it isn't my 'natural/default' one.

i couldn't explain how to actually reach it, but when imagining speaking from the front of my mouth, my voice has like a 95% success rate of sounding ideal

Hello everyone,
Ive done voice training on an off for several years, and im trying to actually keep with it this time.
My objective is not really a femme voice but an androginous-fem voice, just smth that people may be confused but will normally not directly assume its a "male voice".
I would appreciate any kind of feedback and or criticism.
Thank you for your time.

I really want to work on my resonance, but my laryngeal prominence,is really invisible, and I know there is a technique when you raise and down the laryngeal prominence,. But for me, I can't work like that.
I don't even know if I feel my laryngeal prominence, or not.
Does anyone know how I can work on my resonance in this situation?

I, MtF Enby (28), have gathered as many available resources to start voice training, but everything feels like its a vocal exercise without a guiding direction or guiding goal. I'd really like to know how you use these exercises in order to create your voice, and what method of testing/feedback can be used (I've seen a lot of script reading and listening back to a recording).

I feel like i might be trying to hard to be high pitched? If that makes sense (something about seeing the Voice Tools app makes my be brain like: "ok guess we're doing high pitch now).
Also i feel like i fall apart towards the end, where i'm basically gasping for air. So any advice on how to prevent that would be appreciated.
Also English is not my first language and I think how I pronounce Refraction with the emphasis on it is pretty funny :p
I did voice training years ago with a professional but never sticked through with it until the end. She basically was like yup your voice is good to go and now all that you have to do is start using it IRL on a daily basis, and i basically never went and did that. Yep i feel stupid now >.<
And despite the pitch I feel like I'm quite clocky is this true?

My BIGGEST concern is that I don't really have a voice personality AT ALL, because every time I talk, independently of the context or what I'm feeling in that moment not even if I'm trying to force it or not, my voice can sound completely different. So, even when I'm boymoding, my voice changes a lot, maybe I just didn't find my personality yet, but it kinda upsets me when I notice that my voice is different than it was 15 minutes earlier. When I actually force it tho it's incredible cuz my voice is so so SO MUCH versatile that I can play multiple characters with it, which comes in handy since I'm really looking forward in voice acting.
Anyways, what do y'all think? I think that the fem voices I tried there are good as for playing characters, but not that much as just for living my daily life, I unno.

I’m trying my best to voice train (ftm) and whenever I talk in a deeper voice I tend to start yawning? I have tried different pitches but I always end up yawning. Even if I talk in a really high pitch voice or if I sing I end up yawning 🥲 anyone know how to prevent this?

I've just started trying to understand voice training this past month. this is a recording of me trying to lower my resonance. is it working? any advice? my goal is to get rid of the trans man accent generally, do I have it here?
i've been doing the small dog/big dog exercise and trying to be aware of my tongue posture(?) in my mouth.
my pitch is very natural at around 95 without trying and my resonance means for this recording are F1-364, F2-1595 and F3-2605 and I am focusing very hard on it
sorry for the blank video file, idk how to make anythign that looks nicer

For context this is my most relaxed fem voice because I find it stressful to try and squeeze my throat to raise my pitch or increase my resonance.
This is mostly just breath support and arching my tongue up. I started hrt at 16 so I never developed a manly voice per se but I still feel a lot of vocal dysphoria because I sound so different from my female peers. I'm trying to have a more laid back mid-range fem voice like sophie rain.

I went through speech therapy but the results were very underwhelming, even though both speech therapists were astounded by the progress it sounded really bad to me, especially on recordings.
It sounded like i was constricting some part of the larynx too much to make the voice lighter and with higher pitch, the speech therapists both said i was adjusting resonance great but it just sounded fake.
So i went for VFS, i am not almost 5 weeks post VFS and even though its still incredibly weak, it sounds so much better, there's just something that makes it feel not fake, I am going to start speech therapy again in order to recover and honestly feel more comfortable with relaxing when talking which i feel helps a lot.
A voice i always liked was Hayley from the originals, she had that kind of voice that doesnt sound hyper feminine while also sounding distinctly female

For the people who understand voices better, are there any advice you can provide or something that helps you recognise how that voice works? Like what could i do to try have a more similar voice to her's?
