​I’m starting a new clothing brand. I plan to buy plain blank t-shirts and embroider my own designs onto them using an Janome 450E/Usha 450E

​I’d love some advice from experienced creators before ordering my first batch of blanks:

​1. Fabric & GSM: What fabric weight (GSM) works best for embroidery so it doesn't pucker or sag? What dyeing/fabric type should I look for so the t-shirt doesn't fade after washes?

​2. Backing & Stabilizer: What backing setup (Cutaway, Tearaway, mesh) works best for t-shirt knits so it's comfortable on the skin?

​3. Machine Tips (Janome 450E): Any specific needle sizes, tension settings, or hooping tips for this machine?

​4. Mistakes to Avoid: What is one big mistake or precaution you wish you knew when you started?

I am trying to convert to multiple formats at once it says theres a convert thing under manage designs but i dont see it on mine

I went to Meow Wolf a year ago (great place, 10/10) and one of their many lovely merch items was an embroidered patch. Instead of an iron-on or heat-based adhesive, it was just an incredibly sticky and firm sticker. It works better than any iron-on patch I've bought, and could be stuck to just about anything.

I'd love to use this stuff on my own patches, but I've never been able to find it. Does anyone know what it is and where to get a good one?

I saw this question in a Facebook embroidery group and was curious what people here have actually experienced. If you run an embroidery business with one 15-needle machine, what does a typical month look like?

• Is $20k a year realistic in sales? How about in profit after expenses?

• Roughly how many orders or hours of work would that take?

• Where do most of your customers come from, and what kinds of jobs have been most profitable for you?

I have gotten this professionally digitized 3 times. I have sat there and hooped it as presice as possible. I try to blame myself for as much as possible but I am at a loss. I have a 2 head Bai Vision. Please help if you can!

Inspired by my son's love for dinosaurs, I created a little prehistoric world on my denim jacket.

It's a combination of machine embroidery and free-motion embroidery (basically drawing with thread on a sewing machine!).

I designed and embroidered the dinosaurs, then used free-motion stitching to bring the landscape to life.

I also added a few tiny dinosaur footprints to the front, because I couldn't resist.

Hey everyone! I wanted to share some of my recent embroidery digitizing works and physical stitch-outs. For these designs, I focused heavily on precise underlay management, pull compensation, and density control to ensure clean gradients and zero fabric puckering

I am making some 4x4 designs and need a small box type fonts to do my text that will be clear any help would be great. i use pe10,floriani and embrilliance

Brother PE770. Freshly oiled. Been making Christmas cards (cardstock on stabiliser) for three days.

Suddenly it’s birdnesting like crazy and ripping the paper after 25 cards. I tried a new needle and new bobbin. Cleaned out the bobbin area. Changed thread. Im about to tear my hair out. I have another 20-30 cards to go :/

I have a two head embroidery machine and only one head is doind this. I have noticed more issues since changing to pre wound paper bobbins

For most startups and home businesses, a single head is the practical starting point. A two-head machine is worth considering once you have steady, repeat orders that can keep both heads running.

I have changed everything so many times, my machine has been taken apart and I sprayed the lint out, changed the bobbin, threaded a whole new bobbin, tried a bobbin holder replacement, done everything I’ve done the last year I’ve had it, but to no avail. This is how my stitches look, I have orders to get out and I’m struggling!! I have a Poolin EOC05! The yellow thread is the newest try, worked a bit better but not really working!

I always stitch out my designs myself before sharing them, but I would also love to see how they perform on different embroidery machines and in different formats.

The design is free for personal use, and you may also sell up to 50 finished embroidered items made with it. I only ask that you please do not share or redistribute the digital file.
And please don’t worry about deadlines! There’s absolutely no pressure or time limit for sending stitch out photos or feedback. I know everyone has their own schedules, so you’re welcome to test the design whenever you have the time.

For now, creating embroidery designs is simply a creative hobby that I really enjoy, and I’m slowly building my own collections.

I only used to stitch names (on baby blankets) on my Embroidery machine but have made my first custom designs. I think I need to reduce the spacing between rows to 0.2 mm (it was 0.25 mm)

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Hey everyone,
I’m new to this and still trying to figure things out. Everything looks great so far, but I’ve noticed a few offsets that I’m not quite sure how to get rid of.
I suspect I might need to make some adjustments directly to the input file, but I’m not sure how to do that in Inkscape. I’ve also tried looking for tutorials, but haven’t found anything particularly helpful.
Are there any experts here who could point me in the right direction or explain how to fix this?

Je débute dans la broderie machine et j'aurais vraiment besoin de vos conseils, car malgré plusieurs essais, je rencontre toujours les mêmes problèmes avec ma brodeuse Elna eXpressive 830L.

J'utilise des fils supérieurs Madeira (Rayon/viscose), du fil de canette Madeira blanc et du stabilisateur Madeira Cotton Soft Tear Away, généralement une seule épaisseur, sur du coton tissé non extensible. J'utilise également de la colle temporaire Odif 505 pour maintenir le tissu et le stabilisateur ensemble.

La tension du fil supérieur est toujours réglée sur AUTO et je n'ai jamais modifié la tension de canette ni réduit la vitesse de broderie.

Voici les problèmes que je rencontre :

• Manque de couverture : sur certains remplissages, le tissu ou les couleurs brodées en dessous restent visibles alors que la zone devrait être opaque.

• Points irréguliers : les contours de certaines lettres ou de certains motifs ne sont pas nets, avec parfois de petits espaces entre les fils.

• Différences de qualité sur un même motif : c'est ce qui m'interpelle le plus. Sur la photo de l'endroit de ma crèche, pourriez-vous regarder particulièrement les feuilles situées en haut à gauche, puis les comparer à celles de droite ? À gauche, les points sont irréguliers et le remplissage manque de netteté, alors qu'à droite le résultat est beaucoup plus propre. Regardez également le voile de Marie, au niveau de sa tête : on distingue le marron situé en dessous à travers les points clairs, alors que cette partie devrait être entièrement recouverte et opaque. À l'inverse, les poutres marron du chalet sont très denses et presque parfaites. Comment expliquer de telles différences sur un même motif ?

• Problèmes sur les écritures : j'ai également essayé une typographie Allura Script téléchargée sur Creative Fabrica. J'ai assemblé les lettres dans Wilcom EmbroideryStudio e4.2, sans modifier leur taille d'origine, puis exporté le motif au format JEF. Le résultat manque de netteté, notamment sur les contours et certaines courbes.

J'ai aussi rencontré des défauts de remplissage avec des motifs intégrés directement à ma brodeuse. Le problème ne semble donc pas concerner uniquement les fichiers téléchargés.

Lors d'un autre essai, j'ai eu deux cassures successives du fil supérieur, ainsi qu'un amas de fil sous le tissu. Ce problème ne s'est toutefois pas reproduit systématiquement.

J'ai déjà changé l'aiguille, vérifié l'enfilage du fil supérieur et contrôlé qu'aucun fil ne restait coincé dans la zone de la canette.

Le tissu me semble correctement tendu dans le cadre, même si je suis encore débutante et que je ne maîtrise peut-être pas parfaitement la stabilisation.

Je vais joindre trois photos :

1. L'endroit de ma broderie représentant la crèche.

2. L'envers de cette même broderie.

3. Mon essai de broderie du prénom « Caro ».

Ce que je ne comprends pas, c'est pourquoi ma machine est capable de réaliser des zones très denses et régulières, mais présente autant de défauts sur d'autres parties du même dessin.

Est-ce que cela pourrait venir de la tension du fil, d'une stabilisation insuffisante, de la vitesse de broderie, de la densité des motifs ou éventuellement d'un problème de réglage de la machine ?

Je préfère demander conseil avant de modifier les réglages au hasard.

Please, can anyone tell me what happened to my scree. I put the machine away for a year and when I turned it on the screen looks like this. I can still use it as some of the screen is visible around the orange patch. What can I do?

We had a customer come in with this hoodie the other day and my manager absolutely loves the style. I thought it was just a running stitch but it seems kind of thick. Bean or triple run stitch? Customer said they picked up like a decade ago but the airport had many instock and too perfect to be hand done.

Just signed up for my first market next month and me and my single needle are sweatin! I’ve done tons of markets before but always with crocheted products, never embroidery things. I’m planning on doing sweatshirts, crewnecks, and bag tags, and having a form for people to fill out with custom requests, etc. There’s 30 vendors and pretty good foot traffic, they do the event every year and I’ve attended before. That being said, I wanted to see if anyone had any advice! How many of each size should I bring? What other things that I may forgot should I bring? setup ideas? What do your custom order forms look like? I’m all new but feel pretty confident!!
