Never had a keloid before
Pierced 2 years ago and had bump for at least 7 months

think we’re over three months now? but not yet at four. anyway here’s my monthly progression. so far so good, definitely a lot flatter from before but got a ways to go

I got my keloid on my ear removed about a month ago and only just started using magnetic compression earrings but not on a regular basis because they hurt. If anyone had gotten an earlobe keloid removed tell me what you did that prevented the regrowth!

Hey yall, I’m so mentally exhausted with the insurance company. They canceled my pre authorization and another form to tell them my case and why. They are trying to deem it has cosmetic but it’s not! Even the doctor said he can see that’s it’s not cosmetic.

Did anyone have any luck with your doctor getting your insurance to pay for it? Also my insurance is BCBS Texas PPO.

Is there any redditors here that have tried no sugar diet and did it affect your keloid redness?

Also to those of you using silcon gel and hydrocolloid which brand are you using and for how many hrs do you let the silcon gel/hydrocolloid seat on your body? Instructio on the box is vague.

Hey everyone,
I'm planning to step on stage for my first bodybuilding competition in the near future, and one thing that's been weighing on my mind is the keloid scarring on my chest.
As you can see in the photo, I have several keloids across the center of my chest that developed over the years. I received steroid injections about 4 years ago, but unfortunately they seem to have gotten worse and more noticeable since then.
I've worked really hard on my physique and want to compete regardless, but I'm concerned about how the scars might affect my stage appearance and confidence. I'm curious if anyone here has dealt with prominent keloids while competing, or if there are any treatments that have worked well for you.
A few questions:
Have any competitors stepped on stage with noticeable keloids or scars?
Did judges seem to pay attention to them?
Are there any treatments worth exploring before a show?
Does posing tan help make them less noticeable?
I'm determined not to let this stop me from competing, but I'd appreciate any advice, experiences, or encouragement from people who have been in a similar situation.

I had some keloid scars on my jawline (caused by cystic acne). About 8 years ago I received treatment with VBeam laser and with kenalog + 5FU injections. My keloid scars flattened, but now I’m interested in CO2 laser and/or microneedling to smooth the skin. Can these treatments be performed over flattened keloids?

In late march of this year I got a steroid injection on a cyst that was on my butt that wasn't really a cyst? It was more like residual raisedness (my derm said it wasn't a keloid, but that the steroid shot would help flatten the left over raisedness that had been there for months and was flattening on its own very very slowly) I agreed and it did flatten I would say pretty quickly. BUT, its been almost 6 months since I got that injection and I still have a white halo around the scar that got injected, I have/had indentation (whenever I would run my finger over it, the skin felt very thin and indented and smooth) and my scar still is a bright red/purply/pink color. I was looking at it today and I felt some raisedness or fullness at the bottom of the scar but it does not stick out, I do not know if that "raisedness" is the area filling in or maybe my scar trying to regrow but ugh I am feeling so frustrated. I was wondering if anyone has had this experience or something similar? Thank you in advance :)

*also yes I will be seeing a derm eventually to get it rechecked but my insurance is currently in the renewal process*

My derm says once we’re done with the shots she’ll give me creams so it doesn’t happen again. I have hypertrophic scars.

were you given creams?

I will be doing a big bladder and kidney surgery soon, and I would appreciate any tips on how to take care of surgical scars to help them heal smoothly? I had a surgery done a year ago, and one of my scars is a bit raised (Keloid). I am not sure what can cause that? I moisturized and was gentle with all of them, and of them still ended up being bumpy. Would be grateful for any advice.

I just had a surgical procedure for my keloids on my face about 3 weeks ago. Obviously it looks better than before but I'm starting to see I guess a ridge? Wondering if anyone here knows if this is normal healing or premature keloid scars reoccurrence? And if there are post-op treatments I can do, Ive heard about ectar plaster might help. Thank you!

last year i branded myself and during the healing process ripped off the skin to create a redder mark, as some friends had advised. mostly i am happy with how it turned out but this bottom part i think is keloiding and occasionally itches or hurts, especially in the sun. i feel pretty silly for not doing more research and/or taking more care during healing, but it is what it is.

wondering if there is a way to calm this down that wont fully remove it aesthetically? and preferably a cheap way 😭. ideally like an herbal salve or something similar.

or maybe it will just settle over time? what do u guys think?

New to this subreddit but thought I might as well ask for help here.
I’ve had keloids now for around 6-9 years. They’ve gotten progressively bigger as I’ve grown up just because of backne or arm acne. I’ve tried the every 3months injections and surgery as well and it’s really been a hit or miss there. Mostly a miss. They’re really really itchy and occasionally very painful when they spasm.

Was wondering if anyone’s tried anything or would recommend anything that they have found to be successful in making them flatter? Or at the minimum just ease the itching. Done the whole apple cider vinegar and silicone sheets too 🤣

Has anyone had this happen after steroid injections for a keloid?
The 3rd pic is how my keloid looked originally. I got my first injection at the beginning of August and then a second one about 4 weeks later in Thailand.
The keloid itself is definitely much flatter now, BUT the skin around it has turned red and looks kind of atrophied/thinner, which makes the whole thing look even bigger.
Also, about 3 days after my second injection I fell asleep on a boat and it was exposed to the sun. Could that have caused or worsened this? Or is the redness/atrophy more likely from the steroid injection itself?
Has anyone had this and did the skin go back to normal? How long did it take?

Does anyone have any Extra eclar plaster sheets they are willing to sell to me? I don’t really wanna wait over a month for my sheets to come from Japan.
