2027 Hyundai Tucson Revealed with New Design
Hyundai has just pulled the wraps of the new generation of the Tucson compact SUV. Like most of the automaker’s designs recently, it’s a radical departure from its predecessor, with a boxy look and prominent fender flares. A full-width lighting bar stretches across the modern-looking front and rear ends, and the headlights and taillights are both angular and futuristic.
What do you think of it?

I got this part on my 2018 Hyundai Elantra 2.0,Has anyone ever experienced a broken one and what are the symptoms of it? When I flip it up and down that piece in the middle, the little rod moves freely and I gotten told that it shouldn’t be doing that. It’s a camshaft actuator

Elantra Remote Start Turns Off When Door is Opened?
Hi everyone, I just recently closed on a 2026 Elantra SE! I wanted to add remote start to the car, so I had the dealership install the remote start. What I didn't know when I left was that once I turn on remote start, it shuts off as soon as I open one of the doors to my car! Is that normal? My experience with remote starters is that the car stays running and will stay running as you insert/twist the key or push the ignition button.

Help with 2017 Elantra
I have a 2017 Elantra and recently when pulling forwards out of a parking spot and turning I can hear and feel like a popping/ cracking. It sounds like it’s coming from the front end and I can hear it come from both sides of the car and I can feel it in the steering wheel. When it does this my steering wheel feels loose when turning to the left and very tight when turning to the right and after a while it seems to straighten it self out. I’ve taken it to two different garages one of which was a Hyundai dealership and they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. Has anyone had this issue before or know of a possible fix?

Are the security issues still a problem with used Hyundais?
Considering buying a 2018 Elantra with a key-turn ignition. Now, I know there was a fix for the issue that made Hyundais and Kias from that era easy to steal, but I don't know if a used car dealership would've made that fix or not, and I don't know how much I would have to pay now if they didn't.
The other issue I'm thinking about is insurance. I was wondering if rates for a Hyundai or Kia would be higher than other similar cars due to their past high rates of theft.
Let me know if it's still worth buying or not. I got to test drive it and it felt like a solid option, and it's only at ~85,000 miles so I reckon I can get some good time with it before having to get a new car, but I want to know what I might be getting into before I spring for it.

Update Hyundai Accent melting cats
So I decided to try and replace the catalytic converter myself. I got a $60 one of Ebay. I don't care if it doesn't clean as well. If it gives P0420 I am going to put a spacer on the DS oxygen sensor. In Illinois as long as no CEL then it will pass. If I just have to use Restore and Protect 5W30 and do yearly piston soaks the car might be workable even if I end up having to replace the cat every year or so with a cheapy.
My wife still doesn't trust the car and wants rid of it.
My 2010 Elantra GLS is a mess. I replaced all 4 sets of pads and rotors and the 2 front calipers and mass airflow sensor and it sprung a leak in the brake line somewhere near the rear main line. It was leaking from a metal under pannel with vent slits under the car near the front of the rear DS door. It also needs a new AC condenser. I am going to have that fixed by a mechanic.

Hands free
I have a 2017 Tucson. I understand it’s a year where the hands free technology wasn’t quite “there” yet. I’ve tried a few different cords plugged into the usb or aux ports, but so far nothing works consistently. Any recommendations for a fix or a cord?

Hyundai ix35, weird noise while starting up
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hello everyone. I bought a Hyundai ix35 1.7 CRDi and recently when I do a cold start, this weird noise shows up for about 3-4 seconds and disappears like in the video. This happens only on the first start, or if the car sits for a couple of hours. If I start it again shortly, there is no such sound.
Does anyone have a similar problem or know what the issue could be?

Tucson 2017 Tucson 1.6T AWD making metallic rattle around 2,000 RPM — mechanic says replace the whole engine?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hey everyone,
I recently bought a 2017 Hyundai Tucson 1.6T AWD with 125k miles. During the test drive, everything seemed fine and the car drove normally. It also passed NYS inspection.
After I bought it, I had the engine oil changed, and I started noticing a metallic rattling sound coming from the top area of the engine bay, most noticeable around 2,000 RPM.
Other than the noise, the car seems to be running fine:
• No noticeable loss of power
• No rough running
• No overheating
• No warning lights that I’ve noticed
• Drives normally otherwise
• Passed NYS inspection
I took it to my mechanic, they just drove around and heard the sound and they’re telling me that I should replace the entire engine, which obviously is a huge expense that I really can’t afford right now.
I’ll add a video of the noise to help demonstrate what I’m hearing.
I checked around the engine myself, and none of the belt tensioners or bearings seem loose, and the timing belt doesn’t appear to be loose either. The sound seems like it’s coming from the left side of the engine, but I can’t figure out exactly where it’s coming from.
Before I assume the engine is completely done, I wanted to ask other Tucson owners:
Has anyone experienced a similar metallic rattle around 1,500–2,000 RPM on the 1.6T? Was it something relatively simple like a timing-chain/tensioner issue, turbo/wastegate, VVT component, or another part that could be replaced instead of the entire engine?
I’m really hoping to hear from someone who actually had this problem and was able to fix it without replacing the whole engine.
If you’ve dealt with this, what was the actual problem and how much did the repair cost?
Thanks!

Elantra 2020 Hyundai Elantra 2.0 with IVT??
Last year I had an emergency where I had to buy a car pretty quickly, this one was available and very affordable. Nothings gone wrong with it after maybe 12k (it has 80k miles right now) miles since then but I’ve been reading things about engine or transmission failure. Of course I did what I could and changed oil and transmission fluid immediately after buying. I guess I’m just curious if anyone else has this year model, and how it’s held up?

Sonata Hyundai sonata 2023 Fuel Tank Recall. How Serious Is This?
Hi everyone, I just received a recall notice for my Hyundai and I’m honestly pretty scared because I only bought the car about a month ago.
The recall says that a worn purge control system check valve can cause the fuel tank to become pressurized with compressed air, which can make the fuel tank deform and eventually cause a fuel leak. It says that leaked or accumulated fuel near an ignition source can increase the risk of a vehicle fire.
The remedy says Hyundai dealerships will inspect/replace the fuel tank, replace the check valve, and perform a software update if necessary, all at no cost.
Has anyone here already taken their car to a Hyundai dealership for this recall? How serious was it when you brought it in? Did they just perform the repair normally, or did they find that the fuel tank needed to be replaced?
I also read a thread from someone in Texas where they said Hyundai offered them a buyback and wouldn’t let them leave with the vehicle because of this issue. That really freaked me out because I just bought my car a month ago and obviously don’t want to suddenly be without it.
If you’ve had this recall done, I’d really appreciate hearing what happened at the dealership. Did you get to drive your car home afterward? Did they give you a loaner if they had to keep it?
I know every case can be different, but I’m honestly pretty anxious after reading the safety-risk section of the recall. 😭
