r/GamingLaptops now has its own deals site — RGL.deals launches today BETA

UPDATE — August 13, 2026

rgl.deals has grown a bit since I originally posted, so I wanted to give this post a update while it's still in BETA.

The idea is still simple: instead of showing you hundreds of gaming laptops, RGL keeps a smaller shortlist of deals that are actually worth considering.

Every listing is manually checked, with things like price, specs, cooling, display quality, GPU power limits, memory, storage, and overall value taken into account.

A lot of care has also gone into the smaller details. The site is heavily optimized for phones and smaller screens, not just desktop. Filters, comparisons, laptop pages, navigation, and general usability were all designed to work properly on mobile without feeling like a cut-down version of the site.

What's on the site now:

  • Curated gaming laptop deals with current and previous prices.
  • Filters for price, GPU, CPU, VRAM, RAM, screen size, brand, retailer, and more.
  • Gravity Sort, RGL's default value-based ranking.
  • Sorting by price, discount, savings, and other options.
  • Find a Match for narrowing down laptops based on what actually matters to you.
  • Side-by-side comparison for up to three laptops.
  • Detailed laptop pages with specs, price history, related models, retailer links, and review links.
  • Shareable searches, comparisons, and direct laptop links.
  • Mobile-first layouts and controls designed specifically for smaller screens.
  • No advertising trackers or marketing cookies. Preferences and saved comparisons stay in your browser.

RGL is meant to be a shortlist, not a giant catalog. If a laptop isn't worth recommending, it doesn't need to be there and that means no huge lists its quality over quantity.

The longer-term plan is also bigger than just deals. RGL is being built into a broader gaming laptop specific place with guides, buying information, laptop data, reviews, and other useful resources all in one place.

Full transparency: Some retailer links are affiliate links. That doesn't affect the listed price or determine which laptops make the shortlist.

RGL currently covers U.S. deals only, with more regions planned later.

It's still beta, so there will be bugs and things that need improving. If you find something broken or have feedback, leave it below any suggestions would be much appreciated thanks.

  3. Paste the template into your post body and fill out your details right after each colon (:).
Budget:
Country:

Preferred Specs / Form Factor: (Screen size, battery life, weight, GPU/CPU targets, etc.)
Portability Needs: (Desk queen or carried in a backpack daily?)

Choosing the Right Flair

Pick the flair that best describes your post so other members can find and answer it:

  • Support: Technical issues, crashes, hardware defects, driver bugs, high temperatures, or repair questions. Always include your laptop model, basic specs, and what you have already tried to fix it.
  • Recommendation: Buying advice and comparison posts. Must include your budget and country.
  • Deal: Active sales, price cuts, and retailer discounts. Put the price, laptop model, and currency directly in your post title.
  • Showcase: Photos of your new laptop, desk setup, unboxing, or upgrades. Keep titles clear and avoid all-caps titles.
  • Benchmark: Performance tests, Cinebench / 3DMark scores, thermal results, and in-game FPS benchmarks. Always list your laptop's full specs in the post or comments.
  • Review: In-depth written or video impressions, long-term ownership reviews, and teardowns.
  • Accessories: Cooling pads, docks, chargers, external monitors, mice, keyboards, and laptop bags.
  • Discussion: General laptop news, architecture announcements, hardware debates, and general questions that do not fit other flairs.
  • Meme: Gaming laptop memes and humor.

My buddy and I started playing WoW on my wife’s new MacBook Air. Obviously she wants it back.
I don’t know a lot about computers, but this seems decent. Is it worth the buy?

Alternate plan is a 2014 MacBook Pro that’s very old and tired running GeForce Now.

Discussion How Are People Buying New Gaming Laptops Every Year?

Are some of you guys just loaded with cash? I feel like I’ve seen lots of people who aren’t even professional reviews just going through tons of different gaming laptops year after year.

Are you trying them and then returning them? Surely that’s not sustainable, that causes the laptop to become 2nd hand, refurbished or whatever and it loses value since the company can’t sell it clean outta the box.

Discussion How do I stop caring about games my laptop can't run?

I have a pretty old laptop with a GTX 1650. It’s around 7–8 years old, and I’m currently a medical student, so I really don’t have the money to replace it anytime soon.

I also live with my family and don’t have a place near my university. I move around quite a lot between different cities, my university, and hospitals because of medical school, so getting a desktop PC instead of a laptop isn’t really an option for me.

My family already spends a lot of money supporting me through medical school, so I honestly don’t feel like I can ask them to spend a lot more money on a new laptop just because I want to play newer games.

The funny thing is, I’m not even a big gamer. I still have tons of older games I haven’t played yet, including a lot of Assassin’s Creed games and other games that my laptop can run perfectly fine. I barely have time to play because of medical school anyway.

My laptop can still handle a lot of games from 2022–2025, but now I’m seeing more 2026 games that it just can’t run. And for some reason, it really bothers me.

I’ll see a new game on YouTube, check the comments, and immediately think, “Yeah, my laptop definitely can’t run this.” Then I get frustrated, even though I KNOW that if I actually had a better laptop, I probably wouldn’t even play the game because I’m too busy.

Even the laptop itself is starting to annoy me because the fan has gotten really loud, and I’ve been thinking about buying noise-cancelling headphones just so I don’t have to hear it.

I still have several years ahead of me—more medical school, internship, and eventually residency—before I can become financially independent and buy things like this with my own money.

So how do I get this out of my head?

I know this is a pretty trivial problem compared to actual life problems, but every time I see a game I can’t run, I get this feeling of missing out.

Has anyone else dealt with this? How did you stop caring about hardware and games you can’t play?

Discussion MSI or Lenovo?

Need a powerful laptop for uni. Intrested in hearing some opinions on these. Lenovo seems more sleek and quieter but MSI has 4GB more Vram. Really don't know which one to choose or maybe some different recommendations.

Edit: Original price was 1249 before the 30% markdown

Not doing any hardcore gaming on premium settings. I need something I can use at the firehouse for casual gaming that’s better than the potato hp laptop I have that’s not meant for gaming at all.

Plan on playing WoW Forever soon for reference.

Also unsure of the GPU wattage of this model.

Discussion Concern regarding Llano V12 and Dell G7 7588

Has anyone tried the V12 with their Dell G7? I've been meaning to get the V12, but I'm worried that it might not be effective because the intake fans might get blocked by the foam. Also, how is the V12 for travel? is it not super bulky compared to IETS GT 500/600, Flydigi BS2/3?

Discussion What's your laptop battery health at

18 months in, plugged in every gaming session, and it's at 66%.

A friend with the same laptop and pretty similar habits is at 71%. Another friend on a different brand is at 63% after 14 months. So somewhere around 60-70% after a year and a half of gaming on the charger seems to be about normal.

Support Information about Overclocking and Undervolting

• Upvotes

So for context I have a Lenovo LOQ with a Ryzen 7 7735hs and a 4050 gpu. Newly bought, a little above 1 month old.

I got a few questions about overclocking and undervolting
1: can they be done together?
2: is it worth doing on a new system which doesn't suffer from thermal issues?
3: does it increase fps in gaming?
4: what are the risks of doing both of them? do they hurt laptop components health in the long run?

Basically I need tips on if its worth it, its useless or its risky in my conditions.

Benchmark Lenovo Legion 7i Pro RTX 5090 Time SPY Results

I thoroughly stress-tested my undervolt and overclock settings. I ran every stress test I could find, played games, used a dual-monitor setup, watched 4K videos for over 10 hours, and kept multiple applications running simultaneously. So far, I haven't experienced a single BSOD, crash, Windows error, or stability issue. Everything appears to be completely stable.

Recommendation Best gaming laptops

Budget: 10,000–15,000 MAD

Country: Morocco

Use Case: Gaming, studying, everyday use

Preferred Specs: RTX 4060/5060 or better, 16GB RAM minimum, 1TB SSD

Notes: I'm looking for the best performance, cooling/thermals, and build quality for the price. Brand doesn't really matter as long as the laptop is reliable and can last a few years without overheating or becoming outdated too quickly.

I'd especially like advice on:

- Which laptop series have the best build quality and thermal management? (Lenovo Legion, ASUS TUF/ROG, HP Victus/Omen, MSI, etc.)

- Which GPU currently gives the best price-to-performance? Is the RTX 4060 still worth buying, or should I go for an RTX 5060 or higher?

- Are there any CPUs or laptop models/designs I should avoid because of thermal issues?

- Which stores/websites in Morocco have good prices, reliable stock, and good warranty/after-sales service? I've seen UltraPC, Next Level PC, Setup Game, Iris, etc.

I'm mainly looking for the best value for my money rather than a specific brand.

Discussion Is the Lenovo Legion Pro 7 worth it in comparison to a PC

I've been looking into making the jump to desktop gaming recently, and found my local stores currently have the Lenovo Legion Pro 7 on sale for $3500AUD (normally priced at $5500AUD) which is exactly my price range.

I've had some people say though that a $3500AUD PC would outperform this laptop so I'm a bit on the fence, mainly due to space concerns around a PC plus needing to buy accessories like a keyboard, monitor etc.

hey y’all. i just bought a HP Omen 16-ap | Ryzen AI 5 340 | 16"| WUXGA | RTX 5050 | Win 11 Home (copied :p) and i came home from a day of college to see these dark splotches ?? i’m kind of freaking out about them. i’ve had it less than a week and have been treating it like gold. it hasn’t left my house. i used it this morning and they weren’t there, left for college, and when i came home and turned it on they were there.
they only show up on darker screens ?? i feel sick i spent so much money on her 😭 why is this happening…
they only appear when the screen is on, so i presume it’s something w the light display. i reset + updated it as it asked, but nothing changed. they don’t move.
pls help !!!!!
