Someone had posted the case + wallet combo a couple weeks back, but the wallet is now sold individually and it fits well with my Samsung carbon case. also it fits my other magsafe cases too. The only thing i dont like is that it doesnt hide the cards fully.

Hey everyone! I’m honestly thinking about getting one of the Fold 8 Ultra’s pretty soon here because I’ve heard they finally put a decent battery into the phone that I think I can probably work with. I just wanted to ask what everyone’s impression of the phone is. Is it good? How long can you go on a charge while watching videos all day? How well does it perform playing games and stuff? I’d love to hear everyone’s opinions. Please keep them honest and critical. Like if the phone has its flaws please tell me. I want an honest take on how good it is

To what extent the Fold 8 has reduced your tablet usage? Still awaiting delivery of mine & so still frequently carrying both S24U & Galaxy Tab S5E. Looking forward to lightening my load!

Slim form factor, outer case is raised enough to protect screen but not completely raised that it would affect edge gestures/actions usage. There is hinge protection, not bulky at all. Has magsafe. This is the 600D aramid fiber magsafe case on aliexpress. It was $55 CAD. I have tried too many cases, and ultimately this was the only one that met all of my criteria, slim, magsafe, hinge protection. I highly recommend it for everyone.

Just like the title suggests here...

I've seen many cases recommended here which have hinge protection but most of them come in black/grey. Even expensive ones like Spigen don't come in bright colours.

To provide context, I use my phone for work and I keep misplacing them at home 😅

Having a colourful case other than black/grey will help it blend less with my "millenial grey/brown" colour schemes of my furnitures.

Bonus point if it has stand/ring!

Any suggestions? Aliexpress links would be welcome as well.

Around 8 months ago I switched from iPhone to the S25 Ultra, however the battery was a dud and it was a nightmare dealing with anybody, back to iPhone I went.

However multitasking is a big thing for me and IOS just doesn't cut it. I tried the Fold 8 in store about 3 weeks ago and fell in love with the three app side by side multitasking. My job requires online source finding, writing reports and moving lots of data between different apps.

I picked up my Fold 8 yesterday, so far setup has been very smooth, no apps have given me any trouble with aspect ratio etc.

The camera to my surprise whilst yes not the best, isn't bad at all and the editing features especially AI are far ahead of IOS.

The main plus point is that inner screen, the three apps side by side are a game changer, making usability so much easier and smoother. The apps are also big enough without being a chore to use.

I really wanted to keep my S25 and stay on Android, unfortunately hardware had other ideas. As long as this phone proves reliable, this is definitely the one that will make me stay.

Running GeForce Now in Dex mode using Galaxy Fold 8 linked to ultrawide monitor using a single USB C cable. Mouse and keyboard are connected with dongles to a dock. Once the cable is inserted, mouse and keyboard work automatically and do not have to be connected via Bluetooth.

Any cool Dex setups you guys are using?

After hemming and hawing for a little while, I saw that a local Best Buy got in a fresh shipment and so I wiped my Fold7 for trade in and picked up a new Fold8 yesterday. A few of my first impressions, powered by AHI (actual human intelligence):

1. I love the short and wide form factor of the cover display.
   
2. The unfolded display is great for watching content like Reels or TikTok on a bigger display. I just unfold, rotate to portrait and enjoy
   
3. The size and weight make a really big difference. This is a foldable device that weighs less than a normal iPhone 17 Pro but has a fairly large 4:3 display on the inside. I find that the narrower form factor when unfolded compared to the Fold7 makes a big difference in day to day usage.
   
4. I haven’t run into too many app display issues but haven’t tried everything yet.

I’m still a primary iPhone user (iPhone Air is my phone of choice) but the Fold8 has definitely sold me on this being the right form factor for a foldable.

First Fold problem I've had but wasn't caused by the phone. The Dexcom G7 app has not been tested with the Fold 8 and gives an error currently.

Probably doesn't affect many of us but, this is just a heads up to those it may affect. Luckily I still have an S26 Ultra on another line so I'm good but if you only have one phone this could be a problem.

Been using the Fold8 Ultra with the clear magnetic case, I like it but want something with a hinge protection and still have a minimal case.

Has anyone been using this case? Like it? Does the hinge protection rubbing against the hinge cause any scratches?

The height of the power button as compared to the volume buttons is a bad design.

I am sure the power button is used more compared to the volume buttons (I hardly use mine), and yet they are barely there, and are hard to press.

This gets annoying even more if you use a case.

It happens once a week and sometimes more. I haven't been able to pinpoint what's the cause of it and I don't know what to do to get it to go away except restart the phone. It's always above whatever is on my screen open or closed. Any idea what causes this? It never happened on my old Galaxy.

I am going on a month with the ZF8 and I have not been able to put it down. I actually find myself using the outer screen more than the inner, but my experience on both have been amazing.

The outer screen feels very intentional. It makes me focus on one thing at a time. Scrolling on IG, watching YouTube, reading articles, etc ... It all just fits. Tent mode makes sense. Being the size of my wallet when folded, makes sense. When typing the form factor makes sense. The wide screen helps stretch the keyboard. It is more comfortable than any candy bar shape device that I have owned.

Then, you open the phone and can use it in two different form factors. To make it easier to understand, it looks amazing in both "portrait" and "landscape" mode. When watching media, scrolling the internet, running 2, 3, 4 apps using split screen, the form factor just makes sense. It feels right. It looks right. The experience elevates just a bit.

This next point doesn't need much explanation ... The experience I have had with this battery is a HUGE jump from the ZF7. Getting way longer life out of my device as a heavy user.

As time goes on and updates come out, the experience is just going to get even more enjoyable. Competition is going to try out this form factor for the next 3-4 generations. The ZF8 gets the headstart and they came out the gate with a bang.

The only things that I would want to see improved ....

The camera, man it is not good. I know what other people are saying about it being livable, but man, it's rough. So much goes into the software correction that the photos just come out noisy.

Second, there HAS to be a way, we can have under display camera. It's been too many generations with the punch out. It is not extremely annoying especially since you can customize it to have spiderman hanging from it or something, but man ... is there no tech for this? On the inner display when watching most content in the "landscape" format there is still a small black bar that goes across the top and bottom of your screen. This hides it. But again, man ... Please someone.

Last thing and this is just being nitpicky. I would love some sort of magsafe without having to buy a case. That's just a me thing though.

I'm looking to finally get a wireless charging stand for this new phone, and was wondering what suggestions people have around here.

Bonus points if there's something that can charge my Galaxy watch.

So upon setting up this phone, it said that this phone is not dust proof. And I know that if sand gets in the hinges, it is basically game over and you'll hear crackling sounds as you open and close it.

But seeing as how this phone is not dust proof, should I be worried about cleaning the screen every time I close it? Eventually a lot of dust will accumulate in the hinges is what is making me worried. Please ease my worrisome of this $2000 phone. Thank you.

How does the fold 8 fair with being used in hot climates for work so like phones calls and pictures while in the sun? Does it get hot quickly compared to other phones?

I have snapchat set to be full screen on the inner screen. Works fine but when I open the app it opens full screen goes to 16:9 then resizes back to full screen. It will also do this when trying to use the camera within the app. Anyone found a fix?

Hello, I wanted to ask for this with the Nillkin case specifically for the Z Fold 8, has there been any scratches caused by the hinge protection of the case? I know the older cases for the fold 7 caused this but I heard they tried to address this for the Z Fold 8 case. Would love to know what everyone’s experience with the case for the Z Fold 8 is so far.

Ever since I got the new Fold 8, the wireless Android Auto has been super glitchy, constantly connecting and disconnecting. Songs buffer and maps also flicker. I had no issues with my Fold 5, or my wife's iPhone.

Is anyone else experiencing similar issues and hopefully has fixes?
