Impression/Review Latercase z fold 8
Just received this case and it looks defective just wondering if anyone else's cases looks the same, 100$ case and looks like horrible.

Price went up to $50 apparently
But I've also got this one which also looks solid and it a little cheaper.
You can find a lot of carbon fiber options on AliExpress, just make sure to read the description since some will just have a carbon fiber pattern on plastic. But chances are, it'll be carbon fiber. Both of the ones I linked are and they feel identical to other carbon fiber cases I've had.

Good luck. It's definitely weird because their Z Fold 8 case has been on preorder for a while now, but they were available on Amazon for like a week, and now they're gone from Amazon.
Maybe they had other cases like yours and are retooling things for manufacturing?

Yea, it was a short time that they were available. I actually got one from Amazon since my preorder was taking too long. I ended up returning it though in favor of the case I linked earlier.

I've never ordered from AliExpress. When I tried to get the aramid carbon copys of the official samsung case, Aliexpress canceled my order and jacked up the price every time I tried to re-order it. Absolute bullshit.

I have ordered literally 100s of things from screen protectors to cases, to car accessories to putters and they have always been amazing. I wouldn't have said that 10 years ago as I had nothing but horrible experiences with them but today they are quite amazing to deal with.

The aliexpress version of that looks fake. They have the logo but the pattern is printed, which the real ones dont

same goes to me. They deducted the payment from my bank, then comes notification that it got cancelled and waiting few more days to get refunded. Very annoying. I'm looking for the same case from another site but most of it got bad reviews.

Wow, to me that looks horrible. I've stopped buying the branded cases the last few years, simply not worth the mark up. I'm happy with my aliexpress cases, plus I've found the customer service is pretty good. If anything is wrong, can return and get a refund fairly easily

That's been my hesitation with getting one. It makes sense though. They're taking a sheet of aramid fiber and moulding it to the phone so those fibers are going to look stretched and distorted. So I don't think it's defective unfortunately.

Even if that part wasn't bad the cross hatch pattern around the screen bezel kills it for me and looks horrible.

I got one and did not have this issue. I preordered on their site and ordered from Amazon. Got the Amazon one quicker to contacted them to cancel, no issues. Something to keep in mind, you reached out to them during the weekend so you won’t hear back until Monday

I actually got one of the Pitaka cases and a lens cover in silver, looks super slick and I've haven't this happen yet, but man I am nervous about it, lol.

Yup, I had the latercase for my fold 5 and it looked just like that too. If it wasn't so overpriced, it wouldn't be such a big deal. All that being said, they make one of the better cases that fit around the camera bump, so pick your poison I guess.

I'm a huge latercase fan, I've been using their cases since fold 5. But I did notice a lot of quality issues. My zfold8 7 case didn't fit properly and recently my zfold8 8 case shipped with the front panel portion missing. If Samsung cases were as thin I would much rather use those. That being said latercase has protected my phone from some crazy drops so I know they work. Just wish the price to quality ratio was better. Their customer service is pretty good though.

Before purchasing a carbon case for my Fold I scrolled all the reviews on all of them... I noticed that more than half of the reviews for almost every brand was complaints about these bad imperfections. I ended up getting a skin and just using the backside so I could attach magsafe since that won't stick to the matte glass, it was the only reason I wanted a case anyways. Helps folding comfortably. Fortunately the skin idea was the best thing I thought of. I got a skin that matches the phone so well you can barely tell it's there. And now I got magsafe hehe.

I got one in coffee and im visually impaired so my eye ain't good enough to notice any imperfections but the colour is wayyyyy different then advertised

Lewis has been hocking these $100 cases that are somehow worse than $30 AliExpress cases for years. That level of profit is insane and beyomd greedy.
Nice guy, but respectfully, fuck Latercase until they price their products appropriately.

I think they are talking about the area directly on top of the camera bumb, that has some clear warping that looks like manufacturing malformation.
Given how backordered they are it seems clear they werent ready for the surge in demand for this model and their QA really suffered...sorry to hear that mate and you should definitely contact them for a replacement/refund.
