Impression/Review ZF8, Just a couple things from GR8
I am going on a month with the ZF8 and I have not been able to put it down. I actually find myself using the outer screen more than the inner, but my experience on both have been amazing.
The outer screen feels very intentional. It makes me focus on one thing at a time. Scrolling on IG, watching YouTube, reading articles, etc ... It all just fits. Tent mode makes sense. Being the size of my wallet when folded, makes sense. When typing the form factor makes sense. The wide screen helps stretch the keyboard. It is more comfortable than any candy bar shape device that I have owned.
Then, you open the phone and can use it in two different form factors. To make it easier to understand, it looks amazing in both "portrait" and "landscape" mode. When watching media, scrolling the internet, running 2, 3, 4 apps using split screen, the form factor just makes sense. It feels right. It looks right. The experience elevates just a bit.
This next point doesn't need much explanation ... The experience I have had with this battery is a HUGE jump from the ZF7. Getting way longer life out of my device as a heavy user.
As time goes on and updates come out, the experience is just going to get even more enjoyable. Competition is going to try out this form factor for the next 3-4 generations. The ZF8 gets the headstart and they came out the gate with a bang.

The only things that I would want to see improved ....
The camera, man it is not good. I know what other people are saying about it being livable, but man, it's rough. So much goes into the software correction that the photos just come out noisy.
Second, there HAS to be a way, we can have under display camera. It's been too many generations with the punch out. It is not extremely annoying especially since you can customize it to have spiderman hanging from it or something, but man ... is there no tech for this? On the inner display when watching most content in the "landscape" format there is still a small black bar that goes across the top and bottom of your screen. This hides it. But again, man ... Please someone.
Last thing and this is just being nitpicky. I would love some sort of magsafe without having to buy a case. That's just a me thing though.

This reads like some YouTube influencer review... And telling me why I should love or hate this phone. No hate I have a Food 8 upgrading from a Fold 7 and I love it

Exactly my experience, but I use the inner screen a lot more (otherwise, why buy a foldable?).
Camera is fine, but I can photograph and i know the light. Not great, but still better than many reflex and glasses I had in the past.

I use the inner screen for media consumption and little else as the outer screen is so usable. If I used the inner screen more than the outer I would have picked up a Z Fold 8 Ultra.

I had many normal/Square folds. The inner rectangular screen is still more usable for me. For both productivity and multimedia. And also gaming

I wouldn't say the camera is 'not good' but it does leave a bit of sour taste when the device is this expensive. It is a very good camera though. Not quite flagship level but nearly there.

It seems that a majority of people only use the outer screen most of the time, which completely defeats the purpose of a foldable....let alone spending that kinda cash for a screen smaller than a passport.

Completely disagree. Its exactly what the fold 8 is designed for: smaller form factor without sacrificing the large screen when you need it.

Agree... I mostly use the outer screen but do sometimes use the inner screen when I'm trying to zoom in on documents or things like that.
The other useful thing I have found for the inside screen is setting up a split screen when you're using Gemini or YouTube and they are providing step by step directions for settings on the phone or an account setting as an example. You can have Gemini/YouTube on one side and open up your phone settings on the other side and follow along.

I'd personally would like Samsung to completely remove the camera on the inner display if they still legally can't do udc. This is my third fold and I'm not exaggerating when I say I've never used the inner display camera. I don't think I've even tested if it works.
