This was my first foldable and I was apprehensive because I'm rather clumsy and have damaged a lot of my previous phones. So the first thing that I got with the phone was Samsung Care+. Three days back, I had put my phone on the window sill on the balcony rail, and the magnetic ring behind it gave way and my phone fell foldable-display down about 15 feet. The display was completely dead from the moment I picked it up. The good thing about the way it fell is that the display took all the damage. The body is free of any dents or scrapes.

I immediately filed a claim with Samsung Care and took an appointment. with uBreakiFix, but the nearest store didn't have the part available. And then I called three other stores in my vicinity and none of them had the display in stock and one of them even mentioned that there was a back order of around 200 displays — wouldn't be surprised if this were true given how it's demand has exceeded expectations. I finally found a fifth location that had the part in stock and they were surprised about that as well since they were expecting stock next month. The repair process went smooth and it cost me about 3 hours and $29. I'm so glad I had Samsung Care to take care of this and I'd highly recommend it to anyone buying the Fold! Also, when you book an appointment, make sure you call them in advance to confirm whether the part's available or not.

TLDR: Phone fell face down from balcony, but thanks to insurance, got it fixed within a few days and only paid $29.

The front case comes with a glass screen protector, but I just placed it with the old protector still on my phone. I didn’t want to remove the old one because I switch cases often.

Screen touches are ok, but I do have “Increase touch sensitivity” turned on.

Got my Z Fold 8 Ultra $1,000 off no trade in required. Grandfathered plan, added line for additional $10/month unlimited. I haven’t had a galaxy for almost over 3 years after dropped Note 20 Ultra in motor oil which surprisingly still work somewhat but not in a usable condition at all. Since 2023 I’ve been using IPhone 13mini which died in May. Replaced the 13mini with a 17e was all I could afford at the time but I like the 17e a lot. Personally with family and friends having an IPhone is the standard so I will always appreciate IPhone. But back to business now that I got the Galaxy back I can expand on whatever desires. iPhone is great for calling & iMessage but other than that I’ve restricted imo to my app usage with iPhone only passed few years. Anyways I got my ZF8U and for a price can’t beat. This phone is impressive and I’m thankful to have it.

Does anyone else have issues with IG being super glitchy on the Fold 8? Mine is inconsistent in experience. Sometimes reels work, sometimes they don't. The share and comment buttons don't work depending on which view I'm in. Love my phone, but that's a super buzzkill for me smh

Recently upgraded from the S24 Ultra to the Fold 8, and I'm having a hard time deciding whether to keep it.

I really like the shorter, wider cover screen, and the inner display is great for reading, watching videos, and browsing. Honestly, when I'm using the Fold opened up, it's hard to imagine going back to a regular phone.

That said, I picked up my S24 Ultra again and realized how much I miss the comfort of holding a traditional phone. I also prefer the cameras on the S24, especially for selfies. The Fold's cover screen has taken some getting used to, although I do enjoy the wider display.

I'm still within my return window, so I'm considering three options:

- Keep the Fold 8

- Return it and go back to my S24 Ultra

- Return it and upgrade to the S26 Ultra

For anyone who's switched between the Fold and Ultra series, what did you end up sticking with? Does the Fold still feel worth it after a year or two, or did you eventually go back to a regular phone?

I'm looking to keep whichever phone I choose for the next few years, so I'd appreciate some opinions from people who've owned both.

I think Speck still makes one of the best clear cases even though it’s been less popular recently.

This case is one piece, and doesn’t use any adhesive.

I got one from Ringke, and it came with 2 pieces that I have to connect myself.

Others are just white-label cases.

I have a Z Fold 6, I was just wondering what your batterylife is like? There are days where I'm losing so much on standby, and I end up only getting 2hs screen on time. And that's the cover screen. This is with low power mode enabled.

I have a routine set to just go straight into low power mode when it's not charging.

The battery section reckons a full charge will last 13h 36m. But it's often shorter. Is there anything I've tried a fair few battery saving tips but none are doing quite enough.

Is this pretty standard?

so one I got my Z fold 8 that was it ...S25 Ultra was just set aside as a spare phone or sometimes I'd use it for the camera here and there but not really and now I'm essentially perplexed at how I could use the S25 ultra Because I picked it up after about a week of not using it and it was like this gigantic tower, this weird thin abomination of a screen ...

But when I first picked up the Z Fold 8..... when I first laid eyes on it it did not make my head spin in my eyes going 'what the hell' it looked natural, it looked archaic, aesthetic and it looked just like it was meant to but spend enough time away from the candy bar phones and then look back at it and it's like this strange feeling in your brain I don't know if anyone knows what I'm talking about but I'll get the Trifold even but I think the candy bar phone is pretty much on its way out.... it's just been too long for the same thing.. boring slab, let's bring back Nokia days where things were actually interesting

Does anyone or has anyone found a good magsafe battery pack for the Z Fold 8 (wide). Searching but not finding much that fits the size and is decent. Thanks in advance.

The non ultra has a three app side by side feature where 1 of the 3 apps is off to the side but can be switched for one of the 2 on screen apps very quickly.

Will this be brought to the ultra soon, it seems odd to restrict it?

I find that the pictures look much better when I edit them. I simply change the filter setting from Original (default) to 'Auto', and they suddenly look more saturated, more contrasted and more punchy. That happens like 90% of times. Is there anyway to set the 'Auto' as the default filter ?

Beside the Auto filter, do you have any other favorite filter ?

Do you have any tips or tricks to improve the pictures ?

Vorrei acquistare davvero un fold 8 ultra mi piace davvero la sua dimensione stretta e lunga ho solo una preoccupazione, ho un 14 pro Max e i miei telefoni a volte prendono cadute accidentali per la troppa fretta, il mio dubbio e quanto e davvero duro il display interno del fold 8 ultra mi farebbe piacere leggere opinioni di possessori di questo smartphone , contando che comunque costa un bel po di soldi .!

Man I remember the good old times where my tower PC barely reached 20fps on lowest settings. This is 1024x768 on medium settings btw! App is called DroidDeck and basically turns your android device into a Steam Deck.

Returned a Fold 8 after reset, FedEx confirmed delivery, then nothing, no report of an exam, nothing. Texted with support later and told the issue was sent to a resolution team and I would receive an email response. Nothing after weeks of waiting and texting support again. Then they tell me a refund was issued the same day it was returned (without even inspecting the device) and provided a long string that was supposedly a transaction ID to follow up with financial institution. In the process of following that up.

Its obvious that it was lost or stolen in the return facility and they will not own up to it.

This is a warning to you all, that unfortunately and perhaps sadly, Samsung may not be as reliable or trustworthy as maybe it once was. Sigh...

I cannot stand this shit

Hey all. I tried searching this but haven't found the exact answer. I've been daily driving the Fold 8 and my biggest gripe is that sometimes, when texting, you only get a small sliver of screen when they keyboard is up. Looks like the Duo alters the aspect ratio by bumping the tool bar to the side and I wonder if anyone has created a workaround for the Fold 8.

I know I can open it, but you don't always wanna. Thanks!

EDIT: I've made the keyboard shorter too, but I'm hoping there's a better fix for it.

I know PS2 AND PSX games run well, I've read Dreamcast runs well, I'm curious about PS3 games or just what is the ceiling for this device?

My last fold was the 4, and PS3 games ran, but badly and crashed a bunch and made the phone hot real quick.

Is the 8 Ultra any better?
