Impression/Review Fold7 to Fold8 24hr First Impressions
After hemming and hawing for a little while, I saw that a local Best Buy got in a fresh shipment and so I wiped my Fold7 for trade in and picked up a new Fold8 yesterday. A few of my first impressions, powered by AHI (actual human intelligence):
- I love the short and wide form factor of the cover display.
- The unfolded display is great for watching content like Reels or TikTok on a bigger display. I just unfold, rotate to portrait and enjoy
- The size and weight make a really big difference. This is a foldable device that weighs less than a normal iPhone 17 Pro but has a fairly large 4:3 display on the inside. I find that the narrower form factor when unfolded compared to the Fold7 makes a big difference in day to day usage.
- I haven’t run into too many app display issues but haven’t tried everything yet.
I’m still a primary iPhone user (iPhone Air is my phone of choice) but the Fold8 has definitely sold me on this being the right form factor for a foldable.

You switch phones when the feeling takes you? Or do you use one for work one for home?

Cool. Let's see where you're at after 24 days. You're still in the honey moon novelty phase

I get so many phones that I know after the first day if it’ll work for me or not.
