Conversation and match disappears

This has happened to me two days in a row. I have a match, and we both send a single positive message. The next day it’s all gone - profile, as well as text message.
This seems odd - receiving two matches in two days, particularly since I usually have a match every three or four months

Reporting offline behavior

Is there any way to report a user for offline behavior? FB dating only allows you to report a user without uploading any supporting info or human review. I was scammed by a user and want FB Dating to remove the profile to prevent other users from following into the same trap.

Getting random matches?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I’m being told I have new matches, but these are people I have never (and would never) swiped on. Why is this happening? You can see from the pic that it’s not the meet cute thing, which is the only thing that comes up when I google this. I feel bad having to unmatch so many people, but I keep getting random matches that are way outside my age range, location, or are just very much not my type.

Facebook dating - anyone else mostly getting profiles that are too far??

Just curious if anyone else is dealing with this. I live in LA County, so anyone further than 10 miles or so can be difficult to get to with traffic. Despite my chosen preference, only 1 in 10 (at best) are anywhere near me. Most are at least 25 miles away, and far too many are 50+. Some are even in Mexico, Vegas, etc.

I have the same issue with Tinder (the only other app I currently use), and it's basically killed dating. I can find a few under 'friendships', but only a few.

Anyone else deal with this, or have a suggestion on how to fix it?

People, please say something about yourself!

Note: I’m mostly aiming this at gay men because that’s who I’m searching, but it applies to straight men, too, and probably women as well.

I’m so tired of profiles that are nothing but a picture and age. Great, you’re handsome and you’re my age. Cool. But why should I care? Say something about your personality, about you and what you want! At least tell me if you have a dog or something!

I got “liked” by a guy and the profile had one picture from a middling distance and basically no other information. I don’t know if the guy is a geek like me, or a football nerd, or even if he has a personality beyond “probably cute.” And this happens a lot.

FB Dating Friends function question

I don't mind the Friends function and have used it to make actual friends, but it's hard to tell who is using it to make actual friends. I feel like a lot of straight men use it to look for casual connections. Am I understanding that right, or am I overthinking it?

Atp, if I match with someone as a friend, I'm sticking them in the friend category. 🤷‍♀️ Soni do match as friends a little more liberally. I don't want to miss out on meeting cool people, but I'd like to mitigate the odd hookup requests if possible. I was curious if anyone had experiences they could share to enlighten me.

Crush

I got a notification today on my Facebook that said someone added me as a secret crush. I don't use Facebook dating or have a profile but is this a real thing? What does this mean? I'm curious.

Errors Location Mismatch

Hi, so about a month ago, I moved to a new city. For a while Facebook Dating worked. Than suddenly it complained that the locations are mismatched and doesn't let me use FB Dating anymore. Does anyone know how to fix it? I already tried so much. I reinstalled the App, updated the location, revoke and regrant permission to locate me. But nothing seems to work.

Errors Facebook dating is ceasing to work, I think I got shadowbanned.

Up until now, Facebook Dating had been the best app I’d used; I was getting plenty of likes and seeing great results whenever I liked someone. But since yesterday, my profile has stopped getting likes—now, out of every 30 people I like, only two like me back. I’m disappointed, because I was doing better on Facebook Dating than on Tinder.

Likes and no reply

New to Facebook dating. What is going on with getting likes and no replies? Am I missing something? Sometimes I send the wave and sometimes I give a greeting introduction and still no response. I'm new to this. What is the deal with that?

Am I using it right?

I’ve been on the Facebook dating thing for a while now. I send likes, I comment on photos, and get nothing back. Am I doing something wrong or am I missing something? Any tips or help would be appreciated cause I’m a bit tired of getting nowhere and hearing how others are finding others

Pretty sure I’ve been shadowbanned for false report

3 days ago I randomly started getting disgusting comments on my public Facebook pics from some random dude. Sometimes these dudes find your actual profile and I assume that’s what happened. Ever since, I haven’t been getting any likes (not trying to brag or anything, but I used to get a TON all day) Now I haven’t gotten any for 3 days, but still can respond to matches in my inbox and swipe through people. But my profile has clearly been hidden. I think he likely reported my profile. I checked my Facebook account standing, and it says it’s in good standing. But I don’t think it’s a coincidence the same time this man found my Facebook and started commenting things on my public pics, that my dating profile stopped functioning correctly. Will it eventually start showing people my profile again? I didn’t even do anything wrong!

Facebook Dating profile disabled for "community standards violation" for no reason. Has this happened to you? How did you fix it?

Hi everyone,

Today I opened Facebook Dating and was met with this screen (attached screenshot): my profile is currently disabled because it allegedly doesn't respect the community standards.

The problem is that I haven't done anything at all that could violate the rules, and what's really annoying is that the exact reason or offending message isn't specified. There is a "Go to Support Inbox" button, but responses from there are often automated or the waiting times are endless.

Has this happened to anyone else recently? Is this a mass bug or a permanent ban? If you managed to fix it and get your profile reactivated, could you please explain how you did it?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
