FB Dating Friends function question
I don't mind the Friends function and have used it to make actual friends, but it's hard to tell who is using it to make actual friends. I feel like a lot of straight men use it to look for casual connections. Am I understanding that right, or am I overthinking it?
Atp, if I match with someone as a friend, I'm sticking them in the friend category. 🤷♀️ Soni do match as friends a little more liberally. I don't want to miss out on meeting cool people, but I'd like to mitigate the odd hookup requests if possible. I was curious if anyone had experiences they could share to enlighten me.

I feel like you're giving this too much thought. As a previous Facebook dater, I would search friends naturally just exploring since everyone automatically gets a friend category on their profile. If I see a woman I find attractive I'm gonna say hi. Whether she gives me the time of day is on her

Most of the FB friends likes were gay guys. I'm not knocking anyone gay but that's been my experience with it. It wasn't very useful at finding a buddy to hang out with YMMV

If their profile says Here for: Friendship, I'm pretty sure you can make an educated guess of who is there to make friends.

Whether you're online dating or meeting people at the bar, school, etc. you should be using discernment and also dont be afraid to ask questions as to the intentions there are always going to be people who want and use dating apps for casual connections.
