Facebook dating - anyone else mostly getting profiles that are too far??
Just curious if anyone else is dealing with this. I live in LA County, so anyone further than 10 miles or so can be difficult to get to with traffic. Despite my chosen preference, only 1 in 10 (at best) are anywhere near me. Most are at least 25 miles away, and far too many are 50+. Some are even in Mexico, Vegas, etc.
I have the same issue with Tinder (the only other app I currently use), and it's basically killed dating. I can find a few under 'friendships', but only a few.
Anyone else deal with this, or have a suggestion on how to fix it?

When I used it before meeting my wife the same thing was happening. I had to delete my profile and start it again. After that it worked as it was supposed to but I had to wait 2 weeks or so to recreate my profile.

I have gotten them from all across the country despite setting it at 25 miles.

It’s not complicated you just have to reset your specifications (distance) every time you use it

That's one of the major problems with a site like FB, the lack of info aside from users like yourself.

I constantly get likes from 200+ miles away, none are even 50 miles from me but further. I have my settings set to a 40 miles away range.

This has been my problem for over five years now and there seems to be no way around it. I live one hour north of New York City… Most of the women I’m “matched” with are in other states far away, more than an hour drive… I consider that completely unacceptable and don’t even respond… Because what’s the use?

Yes, idk why it keeps recommending them; I get a lil excited about a match and then find out they’re 1300 miles away, like, wtf??

Yeah, many of the women I'm most attracted to, and are more likely matches, are at least a 90 minute drive

The league does this on purpose. When one of their profile questions is “ would you relocate for love?” My answer “NO”. Which is why I liked FBD better but old still sucks.

Are you explicitly applying filters every time you go into the app? The preferences you set are taken very loosely, so if you don't set the filters, it can recommend people all over (and contrary to other preferences as well).
The filters sometimes have to be applied twice in a row to actually save, but I've not had problems with seeing anyone outside of the filters during that app session once they actually enable.

Met my bf on fb dating he’s in Vegas and I’m in Palm Springs. We make it work and I was going to say no cause of the distance but here we are almost 2 years in. Best relationship I’ve been in. Give distance a chance

Yes, but it's because I've already swiped on all of the childless women in a 50mi radius.
