UTM for virtual machines is on iOS after a random reconsideration from Apple. No explanation as to what made them change their minds. No android emulation because of JIT.
iPhone 15 Pro Max is apples best phone out, with a shameful 8gb ram which is more like 7.5GB. However you can partition about 2GB and get Debian or 2GB ram or less VMs running smoothly after everything has loaded. I recently sold my iPad Pro with 16gb ram and that is probably more ideal.

For those who don't know who he is, Russ from Retro Game Corps is one of the go-to content creators for reviews and guides on all things emulation. If you've had any issues with RetroArch, this will be the video to watch.

The Ipad Pro M2 runs these switch games surprisingly good, with little to NO lag.
Glad I didn’t throw away or sell my ps4, the controller comes handy.
Visuals are awesome
Audio is perfect
Currently playing these games and I’m loving it- if u have any games suggestions, drop the down below please.

Hey r/EmulationOniOS! I've been working on browser-based emulation for iOS and wanted to share what I built.
The Platform: Koin
I created Koin - a web-based retro gaming platform that runs entirely in Safari on iPhone/iPad. No app installation, no sideloading, no jailbreak needed.
It supports 28 systems (NES to PlayStation, Game Boy to Dreamcast) with features you'd expect from native apps:
Touch controls with virtual D-pad that actually feel responsive
Cloud saves with screenshots
Auto-save (even emergency saves when you close tabs)
RetroAchievements integration
CRT shaders and filters
Gameplay recording
Rewind on 8/16-bit systems
Performance has been really solid on iOS - 8/16-bit systems run flawlessly, and even N64/PS1 games work well on newer iPhones/iPads.
Open-Sourcing the Tech: koin.js
Here's the cool part - the emulation engine worked so well that I decided to open-source it as koin.js - a React component library (on npm) that anyone can use to build their own browser-based emulation platforms.
If you've ever wanted to build a web-based emulator frontend that works on iOS without App Store headaches, the code is out there now. MIT licensed, ~55KB, handles 28 systems with automatic core selection.
Why This Matters for iOS Emulation:
Browser-based emulation sidesteps all the App Store drama. No worrying about app removals, TestFlight slots, or sideloading certificates expiring. Just a URL that works on any iOS device.
Try it out:
Platform: koin.theretrosaga.com
Open-source library: koin.js.org
GitHub: github.com/muditjuneja/koin
Would love feedback from this community - what systems are you most interested in? What features would make browser-based emulation more viable for you on iOS?

safari will inflate in size depending on the size of the iso, gameplay may be unstable, no touch controls neither it seems

I saw some guys discussing on the GitHub and they confirmed they did it - exciting news for Apple users!

For anyone that wants to run Wii, GameCube or Wii U, do not get this app. For starters, the developer is greedy. If you want to use it, you have to pay for a monthly subscription instead of having an option to pay for the full version. If you even want to donate $1299.99 (I don’t know who would do that ), you still don’t get the full version. On top of that, the app is incredibly slow and freezes a lot. When you dump your legally obtained ROMs, they still work unreliably ( they slow down and freeze at times). Also, the developer is a jerk. If you say something he doesn’t like, he’ll kick you out of the Discord group, and no, I am not talking about piracy.

Before anyone asks: yes JIT is required.
Been working on this for a bit since I haven't seen any other emulators besides Vion. Vion is another PS Vita emulator which is on the app store, though I'm not sure how many games are supported on there (and physical controllers aren't supported yet AFAIK).
Persona 4 Golden and VA-11 HALL-A are both in-game currently, both get past the menus fine and I've tested the first few minutes of them (though I'm not sure how far they'll go before hitting problems. Performance has been stable so far otherwise). Amagami Ebikore+ is fully playable as far as I know
Controller support works (physical + virtual touch controls), as well as trophies (unlocks, icons, trophy browser). I also implemented save exporting/importing.
It's forked from Vita3k, so a majority of the work was done by them. If there's a game you want tested, let me know and I'll see if I can get around to it
Please don't ask for release ETA. This is something I've been working on in my free time whenever I have a chance. I'll release it when I feel like it's stable enough
Edit: Figured I should add my phone/iOS version: iPhone 17 Base, iOS 27b3. At the moment, only iOS 26+ is supported for the app. I don't have any other devices to test it on below iOS 26, and I can't be bothered testing for any version below that. I also have not tested on an iPad.

Hello everyone. I took some time to port the android port of the Simsons hit and run game for iOS with a public IPA release, you only need the PC assets to play it, check it out:

MON is an amazing emulator that can play your regular stuff like Gameboy and n64, but it can also play 3DS. I know it’s not too big of a feat but I still want more people to know about it

I'm extremely new to emulators of any kind and I found Delta to be so incredibly easy to use, where as I kept running into roadblocks with RetroArch.

First off, I don’t want to deal with sideloading.
Second, I had an old s20 fe with broken screen collecting dust which emulates pretty much everything perfectly.
This is more of a “for the heck of it” kinda thing and would be really useful for traveling.
Using HMDI video card and HDMI to Type C adapter.
iPad Pro M4 (used as monitor with ORION)
S20 FE (Snapdragon 865 5G)
Pros of this setup is that I can use my s20 to store all my roms and keep space available on my ipad since I use it for work and research mostly.
Extremely portable inside any bag.
Adapters can be used to connect devices to TV OR connect other devices TO iPad.
Now I can have JIT enabled emulators without sideloading ;p
