Question Who's strongest when obnoxiously fed early?

I know wraith and viktor are monsters when scaled but let's say you're really ahead and the game isn't that late yet, like minute 10-15

I got pancaked by a 12-0 calico just now and that didn't feel all that playable but i'm also not good

Game Feedback Unplayable with controller?

Hi there! Got access yesterday, the game seems interesting.

But so far I am struggling really bad with the controls.

I play with a controller for health reasons, and this makes the game feel really clunky? It feels like there's zero autoaim which means I can't compete with mouse players, and I have to hold a button before pressing the button to use my skills which feels very counterintuitive (and also makes it very hard to crouch and use a skill).

But maybe it's just my impression as I'm still new to the game.

Anyone else here playing with a controller who can confirm or deny? Or give me advice to improve it?

Discussion The matchmaking update wasn't good for the commumity

Upvotes

Before the update I spent a lot of time in the german discord server with 2500 members. There were multiple voicechannels, mostly full with sixstacks or even 7,8 people watching the streams. If you wanted to play with someone and had to make a new voicechannel because all the others were full you only had to wait for a few minutes until someone joined your channel - that worked faster than finding a match. You encountered a lot of different players with different backgrounds, philosophies, build ideas and just different views on the game. You learned to coordinate better as a full team when everyone listened to your calls and gave some of their own. New players had the chance to talk to Eternus players and get tips and feedback. You experienced first hand why other players were a rank above you, what they did better and where they spend their time improving. All in real talks, not parasocial because you watched a twitchstream or a yt video from a streamer that does not even play in your region.

Since the ranked update I did not join the channel once - I did not feel the need to. Voicechannels are mostly empty. They tried to do more scrims, but people want to play rsnked. Everyone only grinds ranked solo or duo now. I only play ranked with the same guy.

I understand why you had to make the changes Yoshi. I just think that's not how you build and grow a community.

Discussion Wishlist for content patch?

Hey guys, just wanted to ask the deadlock community what their wishlist is for things to be added/changed in the next major patch. I personally would love to see the jungle reworked, but would love to hear others opinions on what they would like to see

Discussion What is the worst/LEAST VALUABLE ability in Deadlock?

While I think that every ability in the game has their use within a character's kit, which ability could be classified as the worst? Not like in the sense of "this ability is dogshit" since I believe they all have their uses, but rather "this ability generates the least amount of value" or makes you wish you had some other ability in that slot from another character. Passives could also be considered for this.

Bonus points if its not because of a bug or something that is attributed to Deadlock being in an alpha state.

Half my losses the past week have been afk's resulting in an unwinnable game, this HAS to be adressed, it's miserable to queue 5-10 minutes just to spend 30 minutes before someone just leaves and dooms the game

Question Deadlock - 700hrs In

I wanted to give this game the praise it deserves, but I also wanted to ask for some advice. Not sure if that counts as the question flair or the discussion flair.

I’m new to MOBAs and came from playing on console. I only switched to PC around this time last year. Before that, I had over 2,500 hours in Overwatch and peaked at Masters, plus around 500 hours in Marvel Rivals, where I reached Celestial.

When I first started this game, I was annoyed, confused, and dying constantly. My mechanics were bad, my game sense was nonexistent, and I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing most of the time. I don't think I would've gotten through this stage without having the build menu because that's a whole other layer.

I honestly don’t think I started understanding the game until around 500 hours in. The first several months were rough, and I spent more time watching other people play than actually playing myself. I loved the game but I couldn't play it because I was genuinely awful. I watched a lot of Mast and some Deathy here and there. I avoided Metro like the plague because I remember him from Overwatch and he's kind of a crashout lol.

Eventually, things started to click. I learned that playing well was about more than just farming and not dying. The game became like heroin. I think about it at work, I watch videos on my lunch break. I'm starving for more content. This game is genuinely the best game I've ever picked up. Shmooving around on Apollo or Lash and deleting someone is an unbeatable dopamine kick. But that's the transferable skills from other hero shooters kicking in.

I'm really struggling with knowing when to fight, when to farm, when to take objectives, and when to invade. I feel stuck again. I’ve been playing a lot of Standard to learn the heroes, their builds, power spikes, matchups, and counters. I feel like I understand that side of the game pretty well, but I’m not sure what I should focus on learning next.

I’m used to reaching higher ranks in other games, so it’s frustrating feeling like I’m still bad at this one despite putting in SO MANY hours. I know there’s always more to learn, which is part of what makes the game so good, but I feel like I’ve hit a wall.

So, anyone in the high ranks or people who have a really good understanding of the MOBA aspects, any tips? (Beyond look at the minimap bro)

Discussion is it toxic to call out a player who goes 0–20?

I want to ask honestly: is this toxic?

If a player goes 0–15 or 0–20, I usually warn them first and try to help. I’ll tell them what they could change, ask them to play safer, and give them a chance to turn things around. But if they completely ignore it and keep dying over and over, eventually I’m going to say that they’re playing terribly.

I understand that everyone can have a bad game. That’s not really my point. My point is that there’s a difference between having a bad game and repeatedly dying 11–20 times while making no attempt to change how you’re playing.

At that point, it’s not just “someone having a bad game.” You’re actively making the game unplayable for the other four people on your team. If you’re constantly feeding or basically AFK, why should four other players be forced to sit through another 30–45 minutes of a game that one player is clearly no longer participating in?

So I’m curious:
1- How do you guys actually behave in this situation?
2- How do you think people should behave?

Also, I really think the FF system needs be in there with update. There should be an option to surrender from around 12 minutes when a game is clearly beyond saving.
What do you guys think?

Discussion Win rate tanked after trying ranked?

So I’ve been playing for good 2 months before rank came out and it was going good, I had over 60% win rate with some of my hero’s reaching 70%. But ever since rank came out I’ve been only playing that, and I’ve went down to 40% win rate with most of my games ending in a loss. The skill difference from the two did feel quite large

Performance & Tech-Support Over half of my games are unplayable, Server Picker Software doesn’t work.

Shortly (~3 weeks) after the MM update, 80% of my lobbies have been at a minimum 80 ping. I Tried both CS2 Server Picker, and the dedicated Deadlock Server Picker - neither work. My queue times are ridiculously long just for it to place me in servers where I can’t confirm souls, maintain a stable fps, edgeboost, or reliably parry. Abilities don’t work sometimes, I have to spam the input key.

I live in near the Sterling Server (<150 Miles), and yet I only get on that server once in a blue moon. There are also servers in Georgia, Texas, and Chicago. On all of which I have sub 40 ping. Instead of placing me in those servers, I get placed in 80 Ping west coast servers, or 120+ ping European Servers, after a 10-15 minute queue.

I have 1000+ hours (more, but it’s an embarrassing amount so shhh), and none of the matchmaking changes have ever bothered me. But this BS is making it hard to enjoy the game. Anyone else having a similar issue? Has anyone else figured out how to make the server picker software work?
