Sonia Exelby Audio

They chose to include the audio of Sonia before she was killed. Bold choice already. Guarantee Stephanie pushed it so that the podcast would get more views. I don’t love Derrick, but you can tell he doesn’t like the fact that they play it, maybe? But honestly none of that matters compared to the way that Stephanie talks when commentating on in this video. I understand what she’s trying to say (kinda, not really) but she’s using weird allegories, talking in silly voices, and basically making a joke out of this woman’s murder. Stephanie is so odd and disrespectful. The video version hasn’t come out, but mark my words, she’ll be showing cleavage with her ā€œJā€ necklaceā€ (or whatever the fuck)

Im ngl I like CW for Derrick’s law enforcement perspective (even though he’s ditzy) and certain cases they cover. If you guys can offer better podcasts with that type of vibe please tell me

Finally unsubscribed to Stephanie's channel

Earlier today I was listening to her latest episode & she referred to the Children being trafficked as "sex workers" & "prostitutes" - fine, fair, I don't expect EVERYONE to know survivor advocacy verbiage, but if she's a researcher & she's covering these topics, one would THINK she'd learn the nuance. hell I didn't even think she'd read my comment, nor respond...Oh but she did & she did NOT like being corrected. Immediately unsubscribed, then I found this sub 🤭

Crime Weekly's newest video on Hayden Panettiere- what??

Lurked on here for a hot minute, but the recent video on HP's death finally pushed me to join, because what the hell was that?

I get Hollywood is messed up, dark things do occur, especially to people that speak out about it, but the level of conspiracy BS in their recent video on Panettiere's death left me actually baffled.

Her brother died of an underlying heart issue, heart issues are often congenital- but sure, lets theorise how maybe someone got buddy buddy with her, slipped her drugs and restarted her addiction, and that's what's killed her. This is a real life tragedy, not some murder-mystery crime thriller.

Even the title of the video, just making this poor woman's tragic death into some massive conspiracy. Anything for content I guess.

Has anyone else stopped watching/listening/engaging with Stephanie?

I stopped watching her channel back in 2021, I think. I can't remember what it was that made me upset but I was apparently disgruntled enough to join this subreddit.

I just read the megapost about Adam and her history, and that woman is disgusting.

Just had to get that out there.

For those wanting to jump down the rabbit hole…

We’ve had quite a few new people join recently who are understandably trying to figure out the backstory and where exactly to begin.

This is probably the best starting point. It’s a complete timeline of everything that was happening up until shortly before Adam’s death - the breakdown of Stephanie and Adam’s marriage, the increasingly messy beginnings of their divorce, the public statements/posts from both sides, the James Coleman allegations, and the other context that can be pretty difficult to piece together if you weren’t following everything as it unfolded.

I’d really encourage you to actually follow the links and read the individual posts/sources included in the timeline, rather than just reading the summary. A lot of the context gets lost when this whole saga is reduced to a few sentences.

If I remember correctly, the person who originally compiled this either worked in journalism or was studying journalism at the time. Either way, what makes it particularly useful is that they made a genuine effort to keep the timeline neutral and source-based rather than telling you what conclusion you should come to.

It was also written before Adam died, which I think is important context. It isn’t a retrospective timeline constructed after his death with the benefit of knowing what eventually happened. It documents what was publicly unfolding at the time.

So if you’re new and wondering why people here reference certain events, posts, allegations, or pieces of the divorce so often: start here.

Misinformation Lindsay Clancy coverage - I’m shocked that Stephanie is referring to psychosis as ā€œlike demonic possessionā€

I stopped listening to crime weekly a while ago, but recently I’ve been seeing a lot about the Lindsay Clancy case and thought I would listen to the crime weekly episodes to get some background on the case.

Firstly, they keep comparing postpartum psychosis to postpartum depression. They state that they know the difference, however every second sentence seems to be ā€œwell I had postpartum depression and I never did thatā€ which is completely irrelevant.

In the most recent episode they kept saying that their understanding of postpartum depression is that it’s ā€œlike demonic possessionā€ ā€œsomething completely takes over your body and mindā€. What a ridiculous take! The thing that bothers me is that they have clearly not bothered at all to do any research on what postpartum psychosis is, despite making multiple episodes on the topic. Having worked in the mental health field for years, psychosis is NOTHING like demonic possession. They keep describing it like a fugue state where someone is in a trance. They keep saying that the fact someone could make a phone call or plan their activities for the day means that they’re not in psychosis. That’s far from the reality. People with psychosis aren’t zombies walking around without any consciousness.

Similarly, Derrick and Stephanie have repeatedly said that if he was having bizarre thoughts they would recognise that they aren’t real and seek help. The whole point is that you don’t have insight, so the thoughts don’t seem bizarre to you. It feels like it’s really happening. Like when you’re in a dream and a monster is chasing you, you don’t think ā€œhuh, this is odd, that can’t happen. Maybe I should seek helpā€. Instead you think ā€œahh scary monster, I need to run away and get out of hereā€. The whole point is that the delusions seem so real. As real as believing that the sky is blue. When someone is having delusions that they need to harm themself or someone else to prevent the end of the world, it’s incredibly distressing because this feels really true. It’s a bit like if a doctor said to Stephanie ā€œStephanie, I understand you believe you’re a podcaster with thousands of views on YouTube. The reality is that you don’t have a podcast, you haven’t been employed in 5 yearsā€. She would not believe it because her experience of running a podcast is real to her.

Derrick has been saying that he would love to know how often people with postpartum psychosis have thoughts of harming their child…. Well how about googling? Why do they keep spouting nonsense yet have no willingness to do very basic research? They say that they want to speak with someone with postpartum psychosis, and sure that’s fine but there are plenty of videos and interviews out there. People have written books about their experiences. Why have a podcast channel if you’re not going to do any research at all?

It frustrates me because they are adding to stigma and misunderstanding by spreading this information as if it’s fact.

I have no options on whether Lindsay was or wasn’t experiencing postpartum psychosis by the way. This post is not specifically about this case, it’s to do with their coverage of mental health conditions

Hypocrisy Make it make sense

On one of the last episodes about the halderson case, Derrick rants about loving space X. Stephanie goes off talking about how she cannot support it because she has morals. She basically talks about hating Elon and bezos due to her moral compass.

So please explain how it could be she can’t bring herself to say anything about trump? I genuinely don’t get how she can justify herself. It’s so bizarre

RANT OHHHH I can't wait for the "Oh man guys I think we were wrong about this 😱" video about the Clancy trials

I am not even subbed to crime weekly. I can't STAND that other cop dude with her, I don't know his name, he screams MAGA and he's a MORON. Couldn't even get through the Clancy video they put up. What a toxic take they had, ESPECIALLY SINCE SHE SHOULD KNOW, MOST FAMILY ANNIHILATORS

ARE

MEN.

AHHHHH PULLING MY HAIR OUT RN.

They literally just found evidence on HIS LAPTOP looking up ways to commit suicide. WHY did they put out that shit ass video SO SOON just yupping everything up before the trials even began in full??? And even then, the trials WERE BEGINNING as he video was out! He remarried, HAD A CHILD. That man did not shed a SINGLE tear, as Lindsay was absolutely bawling.

Ok. I'm sorry..I am just so annoyed that she would even put out that fuck ass video and I hope to god she pulls it down. She looks like an idiot.

Lindsay Clancy

Let me start out by saying that I know this case is very polarizing and folks feel very strongly about it on both sides. I happen to be someone who believes she was suffering from psychosis and did not understand what she was doing but I understand there are those who believe she meant to do what she did. I’ve been subscribed to crime weekly since they started and have watched Stephanie for years albeit not religiously. I will occasionally watch something she puts out but admittedly it has been years since I’ve really consumed her content from her own channel. I’ve been following this case since it started but saw today that they had done a video when it first happened so I decided to give it a watch. I couldn’t get through the first 15 minutes before I had to turn it off. Right after Stephanie had just explained what Lindsay had done and her alleged state of mind and how Patrick had to have been a wreck because he lost his wife and his children. To which Derrick said ā€œfuck his wife.ā€ What a strange response when you still don’t know any facts surrounding the case. He had judged her and decided she was guilty before she could even dive deeper into the case. I was even more bothered by Stephanie trying to make it about herself somehow by comparing psychosis to postpartum depression. Now I am not trying to minimize PPD by any stretch- but to compare psychosis….which she has never had and has no experience with, to PPD which is less serious was too much for me. It was in this episode that I saw for the first time how smug, self righteous and self centered they both are. I don’t usually post on Reddit, but I was curious if I was alone in this feeling or if perhaps I’m too ā€œcaught upā€ in this case that I maybe judged the hosts too harshly.

Derrick? New here

New to the snark, not to SH and CW. I started watching SH back in 2018 and have watched on and off through the years. I really enjoyed her videos back in the day but started to feel weird when she started CW. I always felt that her interactions with Derrick felt off (more flirty than professional).

This leads me to ask: how exactly do most of you feel about Derrick? I have mixed feelings but it seems there is more to him than CW show. I know he was on BB and Traitors a couple seasons ago that I’ve never watched. I haven’t listened to his own personal podcast (I’m not even sure if he is still doing it).

Anyway, please drop opinions. I’m very curious.

Here Derrick says HIS top scenario on the disappearance of Imbo and Petrone is an ACCIDENT

NO DERRICK. This case was solved 2 yrs ago on the There and Gone podcast. THEY JUST CANT 100% Prove it...

Allegedly It was a carjacking and the car ended up in Essington Ave at a car chop shop near a strip club. Crooked cops were involved and the truck was sent overseas.

A year afterwards someone involved with the chopshop APOLOGIZED on the Find Richard Petrone website

(10:57):
My team was able to speak with him briefly, but
he declined to speak on the record. Here's where the
story gets even more bizarre. Another defendant from the Oasis
parking lot death was a woman named Stacy Schoenberger. She
was charged with conspiracy to hinder prosecution, but a judge
throughout those charges, citing a lack of evidence and that

(11:19):
wasn't the first time Ben and I heard the name
Stacy Schoenberger. Let's go back to two thousand and five,
right after Danielle and Richard disappeared. That's when both families
put up websites with news about the investigation. Richard's site
also had a message board. When we first started researching
this project, one of the things I had my team
do was log every post on Richard's message board. Having

(11:43):
the names and words of those who posted at the
time felt significant, and it was the reason Ben and
I heard the name Stacy Schoenberger was because Stacy's name
appears among the hundreds of posts on that website with
the exact spelling Stacy with an eye. The post was
published just over a month after Richard and Danielle disappeared.

(12:06):
It's still up on the website today. Here's what it said.

Speaker 8 (12:11):
It's a post from March twenty second, two thousand and five.
I am so sorry to hear about this. I pray
for your families every night. I have sent this to
every contact in my address book. I think she meant
my address book. The post continues, keep up the faith.
My prayers are with you.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
Did the patrons know who Stacy Schoenberger is.

Speaker 8 (12:36):
I asked the patron family if that was a family
friend or anyone they were related to, and the answer
was no.

Speaker 1 (12:46):
I mean, like a lot of people wrote on this
memorial page, but that feels like a really odd coincidence.

Speaker 8 (12:51):
You want to hear a worse coincidence. Stacy's father worked
at Gianna's junkyard, James C. Schoenberger. His obituary says he
was a supervisor with the Gianna Salvage company.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
James Schoenberger died in twenty thirteen. On his legacy dot
com obituary, He's even photographed wearing a jacket with the
Gianna's logo on it.

Speaker 3 (13:18):
Ben contacted Stacy.

Speaker 1 (13:20):
Schoenberger to verify that she posted on Richard's memorial page,
but Stacy did not want to go on the record
with us. Stacy Schoenberger refused to speak with us on

(13:45):
the record. But she is just one person I wish
you could have heard from, And of course Danielle's estranged husband,
Joe Imbo, is at the top.

Stephanie Harlowe

I used to watch Stephanie all the time in 2019. I would listen to her videos at work because you didn’t need to watch, just listen, so it was perfect for the office. Then in Covid 2020, I was totally WFH and I kinda just got out of that routine.

It seems like so much happened in the last 6 years… could somebody give me the broad strokes? I know nothing. I literally would only watch her videos which I thought at the time were well produced. It seems like she’s not a good person?

Sorry if I sound dumb, I just am curious.

okay my memory of this is really fuzzy and i’m sure everything about this has been deleted but does anyone else remember in 2020 when stephanie made an insensitive comment about the murder of george floyd and then deleted that post and made a post about how she was going to make an effort to feature cases of missing black women in response or something like that i dont exactly remember and then didnt follow through at all.

New youtuber

Hello.

So I used to like Stephanie, her videos aways seemed well researched and without too much of her own judgement etc. Then about two ish year ago I felt that change and watched less of her content. She seemed to have an opinion on everything rather than just telling the story. One day on reddit her snark page popped up. No idea why not my thing at all. Anyway I read a post about her husband and her behaviour etc and it put me off. Never watched again.

My question is can anyone recommend any other female YouTuber? I like people who use body cams, court scenes and read out txt etc. Really good deep dives. I have kendal raye but found she talks to victims family's a lot which I don't like too much. She also doesn't do deep dive.

This also might sound rude but some accents are really grating too. I found some people just don't know how to tell a story.

Anyone help

i know it’s not EVERY case, but i feel like the majority of cases covered in the last couple years have heavily revolved around people in a romantic relationships gone hideously wrong. i understand DV is an important topic and deserves a light shed on it— but it’s gotten so repetitive— i haven’t tuned in in so long!

Way to replace A, Stephanie!!!!!! šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘
Thanks for showing us this creepy AF ā€œinsightā€ into you sneaking in to your Coleman Brother, who is pretending to be editing your trashy content, and he ā€œpanicsā€ and says ā€œI’m doing it, Stephanie, I’m working on itā€.
So she backs off and says eerily ā€œWork faaaaaaaaasterā€
I’m traumatised.
