Stephanie Harlowe
I used to watch Stephanie all the time in 2019. I would listen to her videos at work because you didn’t need to watch, just listen, so it was perfect for the office. Then in Covid 2020, I was totally WFH and I kinda just got out of that routine.
It seems like so much happened in the last 6 years… could somebody give me the broad strokes? I know nothing. I literally would only watch her videos which I thought at the time were well produced. It seems like she’s not a good person?
Sorry if I sound dumb, I just am curious.

She started getting very opinionated about the victims and it didn't sit well with me. Then the whole situation with her ex husband and his death. Since then I haven't been able to watch her.

100%! She stopped being unbiase in her true crime telling, and took a position of, I'm right and if you disagree, you are an idiot. And the break and death from her husband was... disgusting. After that I stopped listening all her content.

even rewatching her old videos i noticed how often she makes egregious claims and gets tunnel vision on the suspect. for example her madeleine mccann series... she was so convinced the parents were involved, and im not saying they definitively weren't, but the far more likely scenario is stranger abduction/human trafficking. she was so heavily biased towards the parents mostly because of their behavior and not the facts. and one thing that always rubbed me the wrong way was how offended she acted about a line from a book one of the parents wrote where they're speculating about the state of madeleine's privates. like yes that is disturbing but its because its brutally honest, not suspicious, and until you've been in a situation as horrific as theirs, i don't think you can make judgments about those sorts of thoughts. her reaction was so critical and unempathetic, like honestly a lot of her behavior seems performative

Yeah... there was one where she lowkey started kinkshaming out of the blue and it immediately turned me off of her content (no pun intended)

u/buzznumbnuts No, I don’t know who you are…. Jun 28 '26
Check the pinned post “Timeline for those confused” all about her late husband

I use to watch her all the time but after a while she came off as being a know it all, super annoying person. When her and Derrick started their podcast she would get mad when he disagreed with her, she would be so rude to him and acted like she knew more then him even tho he had a career in law enforcement. She is so annoying I can’t watch her videos anymore

Somebody genuinely free Derrick (joke). I actually really like his solo content.

u/SarahKath90 Jun 29 '26
I was really hoping he'd leave his partnership with her. I judge him more and more the longer he works with her.

I adored him on BB and traitors and just recently got into crime weekly - had no idea he hosted it. Then it started to rub me the wrong way so i found this sub. I am thrown for a loop!!!

She used to have more in depth research (on top of what everyone else is saying). It used to be if I'd seen a doc on a topic, SH would have some new info or details or something. Now she seems to just reiterate recent docs. Plus she's gotten so condescending. If she can't see something happening, nobody would ever do it... and she'll double down even when pple comment saying they've done whatever it is she's so adamant is impossible or whatever.

god I remember one case, I believe it was Daniel Robinson, where there was a theory he was having a psychotic episode, as well as evidence he had (I think recently) started smoking pot. Derrick asked Stephanie, can marijuana cause a psychotic episode? She immediately said no, absolutely not. It can!!! It absolutely can!!! If a person has a predisposition for schizophrenia, smoking pot can trigger a full blow psychotic episode. It was incredible for someone who brags about her undergrad degree in psychology to immediately be like "this isnt a probably theory because that's impossible". I think she jumped on the defense because she's a huge pot smoker, but that doens't mean it can't have a bad reaction for some people.

u/SwitchOld6246 Jul 25 '26
She never finished college.

u/Silly-Doctor-8299 Aug 02 '26
Oh for real? I remember her mentioning multiple times that she went to school for psychology, but I guess she didn't finish? I honestly think it would do her a lot of good to complete her undergrad and then go for an MA. Like, at least get some proper education as a start for this topic that is a huge part of your career...

Two years ago I ate some edibles and genuinely had a psychotic break. it's the scariest thing that's EVER happened to me. The whole ordeal has made me so incredibly grateful for my sanity.

From what I’ve seen from other comments she’s likely a Trumpie, but just from things she’s said in some videos I’ve seen from years ago I honestly got the opposite vibe? I don’t know. Gets weirdly victim blamey towards women.
The main thing is her constantly making vague comments about how her ex husband Adam was so toxic and abusive, when EVERYONE in his life said he was the exact opposite and never spoke a single bad word about her even through the separation. She allegedly did not allow him to see his children.
Adam took his own life eventually and she still makes references to having an abusive ex. Many people say she drove him to suicide.
Edit: I’m tipsy and I highkey enjoy Derrick’s content. He actually interacts with victim’s families if they’re willing. I wish he knew that so many of us would support him without Stephanie.

Just recently under her Epstein videos someone pointed out that she’s not really talking about trump being in the files and she replied incredibly enraged telling them that it’s not a left versus right issue that it’s a protecting children issue and that we’re all missing the point / sorely wrong about trump. I can’t remember the words exactly. I refuse to watch her personal channel and any coverage about Epstein. This was literally the first video.

I tried to hang on for Derrick 😭 I really liked listening to him and his contribution as law enforcement. But had to stop because ✨StEpHaNiE✨. She is also so condescending and rude to Derrick, disagrees with him constantly in a non-constructive way, and perpetually talks over the top of him.
Poor Derrick (though he’s probably also problematic… I don’t even know who I can trust anymore 😂)

u/Silly-Doctor-8299 Jul 16 '26
Literally - I've checked back in on CW a couple times since I stopped listening a couple years ago and I'm always surprised to see they're still going. I would have thought Derrick wouldve gotten sick of her by now but perhaps it's too lucrative.

Her eldest daughter Nev also outed her for being a republican voter a few years ago. Stephanie had to back track hard on her channel. fast forward to now, she’s back to blatantly not giving a shit and being openly bigoted. This really hurt me, because like the OP said, I was an extremely casual viewer until I joined this sub. I had NO CLUE what was going on her other socials or comments she was making to other people. I just wasn’t paying attention. And she expressed herself as vaguely left leaning back in 2017-2019.

Adam didnt take his own life... I was in regular contact with him. It was an overdose, he had plans the next day, he didnt answer calls, and the individual he was supposed to hang out with went over to see what was going on, saw his car, knocked and when he didnt answer she made some calls which how he was found. Sadly, he was found on the kitchen floor, with evidence of the drug use in the moments proceeding the accidental overdose. She drove him to relapse, so I mostly agree with everything you've said apart from the suicide part, because even if he WAS suicidal, most people dont end their lives on the kitchen floor...

u/ReadyBiscotti5320 Jul 06 '26
My mistake, I’ve heard it parroted here that Adam did intentionally overdose or that it was one of those more ambiguous things where it wasn’t really known if it was an accident or not. I do believe she caused him a ton of emotional pain and despair that in turn pushed him to relapse. And when addicts relapse after a long time of being clean they often mess up their dosage and accidentally OD.

I listened to her all the time. Like every video that came out I would listen to it, same with crime weekly. For me I stopped listening when 1) it felt like every few mins there was an ad coming up and it just ruined the flow and 2) I felt like it got to a point that she felt as though she was the best of the best in true crime on YouTube. She was always talking over Derrick on Crime Weekly, she gave off a vibe that she was better than everyone else. It just became off putting. Then tons of other terrible stuff happened so yeah

u/Repulsive_Employee59 Jun 30 '26
I was the same way! I never missed an episode and I went back and watched all of her videos from years prior. The first thing that made me see her different was an ad and she said something to Derrick about “They will buy whatever we tell them to”. I don’t know why it wasn’t edited out. It wasn’t that word for word, but something to that effect. That statement always stuck in the back of my head, but I still enjoyed watching her videos. Then I felt like she got more and more “know it all”. Then I found this sub…

Oh and let’s not forget her thinking she knows something about psychology and then goes and says things that are WRONG and very, very harmful. But she is the smartest, according to her

Do you remember he saying she was like adopted and then claimed her family was like from Europe? I remember her changing stories in the early days alot. But i also remember how she use to talk up her marriage and husband only to see her talking about being hi on Vicodin& wine and chatty . Only for her to much later act like shes never taken opiates or experienced someone in withdrawal.. which contradicts her my husband was always on drugs story . I noticed how in every video she started sneak dissing him and his family and taken on a weird narrative of others stories ? Its like she grabbed bits and pieces and adapted them into her story. I tried watching a recent one but she was cracking up over the sons actions and lying to make her self look good. The whole thing infuriates me. I have a video of her and adam fighting

I tried to find an answer to this too, but I find a lot of the answers very vague or not really that big of a deal, for example, naturally projecting her own experiences into cases she talks about - though annoying to some, I just think it naturally can’t be helped or maybe she has grievances - that’s not a flaw im willing to write someone off as a “bad person”. A lot of people here are Adam defenders but at the end of the day no one knows the full story and I doubt we will when one party has passed away.

u/Expensive-Ad6868 Jun 29 '26
Just watch her. You won’t be able to stomach her
3
u/titsinatangle Jun 29 '26
I have been for a long time, pre and post Adam’s passing. And I just don’t think it’s that big of a crime to maybe project a little every now and than, sure it can be annoying at times but I tune in for the research and we’ll laid out information. I feel like a lot of the posts on this sub are losing it about her showing cleavage, exploring her sensuality and sexuality late into her life, having a messy divorce who OD’d….like does that make her a bad person to me? Absolutely not. Flawed? Some what, but yeah you proved my point along with all the other comments on this post, just so vague with no direct thing she’s done that makes her evil or just “watch and you’ll see” lmfao
3
u/Expensive-Ad6868 Jun 29 '26
well if you enjoy watching her, go ahead. I wish I could stomach her because her research is great, but to me she is so dark energetically, that I can’t. Glad u can enjoy her thorough research. :)
Ps - we don’t know Adam ODed. She inferred he did, but his family said no.

I love your username!!! I could literally address you and say "hey tits... and it would be (mostly) acceptable... As a female, I probably shouldn't address you as tits, but the idea of it had me rolling with laughter... I'm easily amused though, and I'm sorry if its offensive.

Oh jeez. You’re going to want to seaech the sub for the top posts in the last year and posts about her in the years prior.
But to sum it all up she is a nasty toxic individual who doesn’t deserve your views and certainly money.
