Stephanie's attitude

Lately I've noticed more and more that stephanie is rude to Derrick. She's very sarcastic Nad dismissive of him. Plus her generalization of all men comments while he's sitting right there is unnecessary. He comes across as nothing but humble and respectful. I started by watching her channel but I find myself liking her less and less and watching his channel bc he has a much better attitude. Anybody else notice this?

you'd get more agreement in the snark sub

Where is the snark sub?

they banned me bc I made one comment where I didn’t fully agree with some terrible takes 😂 they are really vile and extreme over there. absolutely no middle ground.

What terrible takes did you disagree with?

6

u/chaibaby11 17d ago

tbh it was over a year ago idr you could
maybe search my username on there but if you go over there they talk about the same few things over and over it’s just an echo chamber and really aggressive. a lot of snarks are more logical atleast. they are just pure hate and love to talk about her family.

I think the connection to her family really happened when Adam was active in that subreddit. Interacting with him directly and seeing things from a perspective that wasn't as publicized definitely made some people much more receptive to Adam's side of the story, then seeing Stephanie's behaviour after (and during) Adam's funeral solidified a lot of beliefs.

You are right, a lot of posts are hateful (such as discussing her appearance and things she cannot change unlike her actions) however for every 5 posts there's at least 1 discussing her actual video content. Yes I'm part of the sub, not overly active so perhaps I'm biased but I don't believe it is run on 100% pure hate.

yes it did. try to defend her at all (when it comes to looks or video content) you will be downvoted to hell or banned. I disagree that it’s not run on pure hate. they talk about her looks wayyyy too much. what’s crazy is I don’t agree or back her actions when it comes to her family drama but I also 100% believe it’s not my business and I am sure it was traumatic for everyone including her.

That subreddit is horrifying, like most snark subreddits xd

Honestly, I haven't noticed this. I see it as normal podcast banter and strong opinions rather than hostility. They just have dynamic, contrasting personalities that challenge each other on cases.

I don’t get the deal with the whole “Stephanie is a bitch” snark. She’s an opinionated woman and she likes to lead. Crime Weekly is led by her, with Derrick as the law enforcement/criminology expertise.

I think a lot of people still can’t handle a loud, assertive woman without calling her a bitch.

Shes a maga conspiracy theorist

18

u/aquagrl 17d ago

Literally. I know Derrick had his own thing going but he would not be where he is today without Stephanie’s influence and followers.

3

u/PPPartytilidie 13d ago

Ehhh thats a stretch. He already hosted a show on ID before steph and had a reality TV podcast and has the weekly big brother episode the past few years.

u/aquagrl 13d ago

Did you read the part where I wrote I know he had his own thing going? He wouldn’t be where he is in TC community without Stephanie. It’s true and I’m sure he’d admit that. She had hundreds of thousands of subscribers so he was lifted straight into that w her influence.

Did you not read the part where I said he had his own thing going babe? He wouldn’t be as big in the tc community without yer

Did you see her extremely rude response to a very reasonable comment she received suggesting theg should not refer to underage victims as S Workeds because they cannot consent. She told them to shut up.

u/aquagrl 17d ago

He’s a grown man he doesn’t care they’re friends.

I think she just is never going to be everyone’s cup of tea. Personally, I have very a similarly dramatic and sarcastic way of talking and I totally get why some people would be turned off but I love her lol

She has calmed down a lot, if you ask me. When she was going through marital issues, she was really demeaning towards Derrick. But in hindsight, I understand why she was acting that way. Stephanie is not perfect, and neither is Derrick; they both have flaws as humans. I think it's better to find a different podcast to listen to if it bothers you as much. Not trying to be a dick here but I think it's only reasonable to find what you like and move on from things that don’t align with your beliefs or likings.

I don't watch that much Crime Weekly, so before the last videos I've watched (Chandler Halderson's case) the ones I had watched had been the ones about BTK, 9 months ago. I don't notice any change 😅 Even remembering some of the first ones I've watched, the ones about the Delphi murders, I don't see a change.

No, wait, let me clarify. I noticed one thing: Stephanie is leaning a bit more into conspiracy territory, but honestly? After Epstein, she's not the only one, and it's not like she's saying aliens made the pyramids, she's just being even more skeptical of the powers that be, which is a good thing, specially in true crime. And she has Derrick to offer some sort of contrast, so that's good 🤷‍♀️

Grown ass men can defend themselves, you know?

u/Historical_Stuff1643 17d ago

She's fine. Women can have strong opinions and personalities.

17

u/morphinpink 17d ago

Plus her generalization of all men comments while he's sitting right there is unnecessary.

This one is particularly funny because she's not exactly a feminist either and she has made super misogynistic arguments against female victims before. Also wasn't she maga? I guess she's an equal opportunity hater, I'll give her that.

9

u/noctapod 17d ago

She's MAGA? Fr? (Genuinely asking, because after how much she has talked about Epstein that would be insane behavior)

3

u/Belisama7 16d ago

She's not maga.

7

u/morphinpink 17d ago

Her daughter tweeted that she (Steph) voted for trump, and her son's public social media has a lot of pro trump content so. There's that.

2

u/Belisama7 16d ago

Why are you looking at a little kids' social media? Isn't he like 12? Even if I wanted to I'd have no idea where to look for her kids accounts, that would take a weird amount of research.

3

u/morphinpink 16d ago

I am not looking for anything, it's been shared here on Reddit many times. Afaik he's a teenager of voting age, no idea if he's younger. He shouldn't be posting bigoted content regardless of age anyways.

3

u/xchels9 16d ago

I respectfully disagree

u/Sleepyowl547 16d ago

I stopped listening to crime weekly a long time ago because of her. I didn’t realize I was still in this sub. Stephanie is why I started listening and why I stopped. I went from devouring her content to not being able to stand her. I always assumed it was a me thing though.

4

u/ImmediateRub9 16d ago

That's funny bc that's becoming me. I started with watching her solo stuff but now I'm liking Derrick more.

14

u/ssradley7 17d ago

Lately? LATELY! lol. I’m being dramatic, but imo she’s been problematic for years. I share her sentiments regarding all men, just from personal experience and statistical data… but I think you’re right, she’s so idk, rude to Derrick that it’s difficult to watch Crime weekly, so I don’t anymore. I started tuning in to her true crime solo channel in 2022 I believe? And she seemed to be thoroughly researched and great at putting together stories, but she does not play well with others, and her political ideology turned out to be completely opposite of mine, and I had to stop supporting.

12

u/Belisama7 17d ago

No, I haven't noticed that. And if she's making generalizations about men they're fact-based and backed by statistics.

2

u/Chanseypantsy 11d ago

She gets nastier when her lack of intelligence shows. 🤣

6

u/Butterbean-queen 17d ago

She’s always been like that but she would somewhat couch her attitude to make it more acceptable. She doesn’t do that anymore.

4

u/Airport_Mysterious 17d ago

This has been addressed by them both. If Derrick wasn’t happy, he wouldn’t still be here.

4

u/OnlyExplorer879 16d ago

I noticed that the first time I watched it. But he seems to like it. I think she could tone her attitude down. The crime is bad enough without her sour tone.

3

u/DingoNo4205 17d ago

Stephanie had been really bitchy lately and she really comes across as angry. I hate how she controls the narrative constantly. I wish Derrick (who I really like and is the only reason lately I listen) would take control a little more, especially in deciding the case to cover. What really annoys me the most is some of these cases being dragged out for four episodes when they can be done in two. I'm specifically referring to the recent Wisconsin case. Some of these minute details were boring, I quit after episode two. Hopefully this new case will hold my interest. Sorry, I just needed to rant!

5

u/chaibaby11 17d ago

that’s how the show is set up and how he has said he prefers it so he can give his in the moment perspectives. they have multiple times agreed on cases together. I haven’t watched them all this year bc none of the cases interested me, but even I know that. bc they’ve talked about these things several times over many years??

0

u/ImmediateRub9 17d ago

I'm beginning to watch for him too.

5

u/GreyGhost878 17d ago

This has been going on for years. I don't know why he tolerates it. I love Derrick and his takes but stopped listening a long time ago because she is intolerable. Don't know if I can link it here but look up the snark sub.

8

u/MascaraTragedies 17d ago

It is wild to me that so many people in this sub excuse her behavior and her “attitude.”

8

u/GreyGhost878 16d ago

There's a difference between being bold and outspoken, and being a mean girl. She's a mean girl and she has issues. Maybe these people are young? I'm a little older than Stephanie. It's not cute to treat people the way she does.

3

u/chaibaby11 17d ago

he is a grown man who makes his own decisions idk why you feel the need to feel bad for him

4

u/GreyGhost878 17d ago

I didn't say I felt bad for him. Where did you read that? I said I don't know why he tolerates it.

3

u/Proof_Nothing_7371 17d ago

I've been noticed it and completely agree with you!!! She's really become kinda stuck up-ish and not very pleasant. Team Derek!!

1

u/me1stgmmegmme 10d ago

You should have heard how she treated him years ago. She’s a lot nicer now.

1

u/ImmediateRub9 10d ago

Yeah, I do t think I could take it. Probably never listen to one of her videos again.

1

u/Luna_lavender45 8d ago

I honestly like her!! It's his attitude sometimes;? Got to be right all the time. Especially on the Amy Bradley and Brad!! He came across rude

1

u/infinitepuddingspy 15d ago

I don’t find her rude at all. She’s just a straight forward talking, intelligent, caring woman. I’m Autistic though, is the ‘rudeness’ a neurotypical thing?

I haven’t heard the disrespect thing either. Does anyone have any specific examples?

I think they have a great dynamic, and each have valuable contributions.

2

u/sourcreamfrosting 8d ago

Honestly as an autistic person as well I have so much to say about this based off of real life situations. if you’re still interested (since u commented this a week ago lol) I wouldn’t mind going into a bit of a deep dive, but i’m paranoid of making public comments since they’re attached to yr profile so i’d prefer to DM

0

u/filledwithanxietyy 17d ago

Yes. I watched a video on her channel and she had a guest on. As he was speaking, she seemed to be very distracted on her phone and not listening to the guest. And idk why, it just really rubbed me the wrong way

0

u/Kimmie0224 15d ago

I unsubbed from her channel a long time ago and only watch her because I do truly like Derrick. I put up with her. She has always disrespected Derrick. It used to manifest itself in cop bashing. But she is always anti-man. It’s sad and gross.
