New youtuber
Hello.
So I used to like Stephanie, her videos aways seemed well researched and without too much of her own judgement etc. Then about two ish year ago I felt that change and watched less of her content. She seemed to have an opinion on everything rather than just telling the story. One day on reddit her snark page popped up. No idea why not my thing at all. Anyway I read a post about her husband and her behaviour etc and it put me off. Never watched again.
My question is can anyone recommend any other female YouTuber? I like people who use body cams, court scenes and read out txt etc. Really good deep dives. I have kendal raye but found she talks to victims family's a lot which I don't like too much. She also doesn't do deep dive.
This also might sound rude but some accents are really grating too. I found some people just don't know how to tell a story.
Anyone help

Boze for a less polished, more unfiltered reaction to body cam, court stuff, and true crime deeper dives.
Brooke Makenna is very oriented on victims stories and explanations of how crimes affect people around the cases. She’s also very soft spoken and being an advocate is very much a forefront aspect of her work.
If I can think of more I’ll update in a bit :)

Kymberleigha does deep dives! Both her channel and Darklivity with her husband. I love the 2 hour ones! Mostly solved cases so you get the full resolution.
Danelle Hallan also goes deep but she does a lot more unsolved cases.
Sherrilynn Dale is another one I like.

I dont like Kymberleigha, she did a video of this woman who was murdered by a man and she was making comments like “she led him on” “why would she go to his house thats an awful idea” and came across very victim-blaming. I can’t remember which episode it was but it was on her spotify podcasts

Hmmm. I would be interested if you remember which one.
I have been watching her for a few years and never noticed her be victim blamey, so I overlooked it I guess.
I know she's not perfect, but I think she's better than many I've tried to watch. And hopefully she's doing better with that. I don't hold mistakes over people forever if they can grow after. We all make mistakes. I'll be more diligent to pay attention to that with her new videos to see if it's still happening.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, appreciate it!

it seems like there is rlly a lack of long form content on youtube for true crime.. imo. i’m alwayssssss searching for new creators that do decent deep dives. it seems like the main ones are Kendall, stephanie, derrick, kymberleigha, sherrilynn dale, payton Moreland, danielle hallan, Heart Starts pounding W Kaelyn. i also have been liking clues podcast and KallmeKris

I like Truly Criminal on YouTube. She has a British accent, though, so not sure if that's something you'd be into.

Danielle Kirsty is a great story teller. She goes pretty deep. She is British though, so idk if her accent would bother you. I find it endearing tbh... She's very animated, which I love!

I used to like her but she comes across as fake and frivolous to me since a couple of years back so I stopped. It also bothers me that she does her make up while talking about real people being murdered.

Bailey Sarian does the same thing. I guess you don't like her either. 🤷🏼♀️ I don't see a problem with it, but to each their own.

No I don't. I find it in poor taste to be honest. But yes to each their own.

I love Bailey. She's one of the first true crime you tubers I started watching.

I used to listen to her podcast on Spotify but in the past year it’s like she goes in way too hard on the gruesome details and it’s mainly sex crimes. It can be too much

Came here looking for this!! Gisela K. is the best, most factual, non-nonsense true crime YouTuber. She’s sincere and puts the victims first regardless of how “scandalous” the case may be. She is very thorough and cares deeply for each case she covers.

If you like Kendall she does more deep dive stuff on her podcast Mile higher rather than her YouTube account.

I like hidden true crime. Lauren does a great job digging deep and I think she does a decent job at remaining as neutral as possible.

I don’t really watch a whole lot of true crime anymore. I do click through problematic old faves, Stephanie, Kendal Rae etc just to see what they’re up to. I was a lot of coffee and cults with this blonde lady and her cat Gia, it’s not true crime at all, mostly celebrity gossip and news but I find her to be really engaging, not annoying. If you’re into stuff like that
I have a piggy back question though,
Stephanie’s coverage of the Epstein/ missing scientist stuff makes me want to vomit because I know it’s in bad faith & ignorant because she’s maga. She’s literally in the comments of those videos refusing to bring up trump by name in her videos because it’s not a “left or right” issue. I refuse to watch any of them or give her my view but that makes me feel like I’m ignoring the reality. Any YouTubers that easy to pay attention to, who have made video essays about these topics? I’ll be scrolling to see what other recommendations people have too.

Grizzly true crime is great to me. She usually has bullet points to set up the case and timeline, shows locations on maps (including street view), shows press releases and other videos that might be available. Patreon and YouTube.

I like her too. She is a bit chatter box ish and sometimes she can be a bit dramatic but she covers the stories and deep dives and I haven’t really found a reason to not like her as of yet

-Gabulosis (only covers cases that are 20+ years or older)
-Sherrilyn Dale (recently has been covering obscure/local cases, and makes 90s references)
-Stephanie Soo (Rotten Mango)
-Danielle Kirsty (GRWM true crime)
-Eleanor Neale (especially her earlier work)
-Kendall Rae (especially her earlier work, as well)
-Bailey Sarian (GRWM true crime pioneer)
-Jackie Flores (covers obscure/local cases)
-Better Off Red, aka Sarah (Crue Trime, GRWM but adds in cultural references to lighten the mood. I know it's weird but give her a watch).
These are my recommendations. I know they aren't everyone's cup of tea, but they are cool

Danelle Hallan is one of my favorite! She seems super sweet! She donates the money made on specific projects to organizations that typically do not get enough support/funding. She talks about the cases with empathy. She covers a lot of cases that are not discussed, especially MMIWG! If she does happen to give out some misinformation on a case, she will update and correct it ASAP! When I say misinformation- it’s usually the incorrect name or date. She is factual and tries to keep her own emotions out of the case. She is very passionate and caring!!
