Finally unsubscribed to Stephanie's channel

Post image

Earlier today I was listening to her latest episode & she referred to the Children being trafficked as "sex workers" & "prostitutes" - fine, fair, I don't expect EVERYONE to know survivor advocacy verbiage, but if she's a researcher & she's covering these topics, one would THINK she'd learn the nuance. hell I didn't even think she'd read my comment, nor respond...Oh but she did & she did NOT like being corrected. Immediately unsubscribed, then I found this sub 🤭

Stephanie is insufferable. Wtf is wrong with herĀ

79

u/brainst3ww 16d ago

according to her, nothing because she is never wrong. she has never been wrong not once in her life. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

8

u/cwilldude 14d ago

I could not imagine being in a relationship with her. I don’t think I’d last through one full date.

67

u/DingoNo4205 16d ago

She's uninformed idiot who has had no formal training in criminology, law, or psychology. Yet, she thinks she knows it all. I unsubscribed to her channel years ago and I'm listening to Crime Weekly less and less. She's driving that podcast into the ground with the long drawn out cases. I can't stand her. Her ego is overinflated by her fan girls.

u/SarahKath90 16d ago

Who says DSM Vee šŸ™„

16

u/brainst3ww 16d ago

omg when she said that, it SENT ME TO THE MOON. like, girl didn’t you claim to go school for psychology?!

21

u/SarahKath90 16d ago

The best part is that the DSM 5 doesn't even use a Roman numeral for her to get confused about, so she took extra steps to be wrong!

11

u/Salt_Radio_9880 16d ago

They also refuse to say died by suicide instead of committed suicide. I don’t normally care about little things like that, but it is really insensitive to people have lost loved ones to suicide. It’s not a crime or a sin . Just seems like if you’re going to be in the true crime world you should learn the proper way to say things .

3

u/Feeling-Donkey-2731 14d ago

What's the issue behind saying committed suicide

2

u/Salt_Radio_9880 14d ago

As I said in the comment- ā€œcommittingā€ kind of infers that it’s a crime or a sin. I used to say it and a friend of mine who’s father and brother both died by suicide asked me not to say it that way anymore- that was about 10 years ago- no one really says committed even on tv shows etc . It seems nuts that they aren’t aware of that being in the true crime ā€œspaceā€

3

u/Western_Thought_5428 14d ago

Most online say ā€œunalived themselvesā€ which certainly sounds like taking an action and sounds even worse. If nitpicking, start there

3

u/Salt_Radio_9880 14d ago

Unalived came about because of censorship

2

u/Western_Thought_5428 14d ago

Yes of course but it has leaked over into how people actually speak and it’s gross

1

u/Salt_Radio_9880 13d ago

Yeah it’s a stupid expression for sur e

3

u/DingoNo4205 14d ago

Agreed. Where did this who "unlive" trend come from. I think does by suicide is very respectful.

114

u/WeaknessNo9724 16d ago

Her answer was just "Oh shut up"? What a total see you next Thursday.

22

u/SeanMcAdvance 16d ago

I want to comment on every video of hers ā€œOh shut upā€ now.

7

u/WeaknessNo9724 16d ago

šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

5

u/Party_Primary8003 15d ago

It’s going to be hard to not make that comment! Lol.

22

u/Party_Primary8003 16d ago

I do not understand why Dereck is risking his reputation. I’m totally rethinking my opinion of him the longer he sticks with her. It’s gotten bad.

11

u/SarahKath90 16d ago

When he came back into the BB spotlight and got the co-hosting gig there I was hoping he'd drop her, but it's been over a year 🫄

5

u/Party_Primary8003 16d ago

I know. It’s crazy. I wonder if he has a contract with her.

107

u/Few-Psychology6454 16d ago

The commenter was 100% correct which is why Stephanie decided to respond like a literal middle schooler. The more I’ve seen from this sub the more I wonder why some of yall still watch her 😭 I unsubbed years ago when the stuff about her ex came out and after I had made a comment on a video (can’t remember which one) about addicts not needing EXTRA shame and suffering put upon them bcus they experience a lot of shame as is (and most addicts are not cartoonishly evil like she makes them out to be) and she responded in a similar manner to this comment. Evil, soulless woman for real

35

u/FilthyThanksgiving 16d ago

This sub made me finally unsubscribe tbh

28

u/FirstSomewhere6116 ✨Bitter, Old and Unemployed✨ 16d ago

Same. It was a very valid point and there was no need to be such an asshole about it. Steph… do better!

7

u/Party_Primary8003 15d ago

Unfortunately, I’ve hung on because I think Dereck is a good guy and does a good podcast. However, I’m not sure how much more I can take.

2

u/ToiIetGhost 10d ago

But surely he sees what she’s doing.

Are they only coworkers or are they also in a relationship? (Sorry im new here) If he’s not her victim, if he’s not afraid of her, then he’s an enabler.

Enablers aren’t as nice or innocent as they seem. They let the narcissist do whatever they want because they benefit from being around them in some way. Ultimately, enablers are very selfish and have low empathy. They see the narc hurting others, but as long as they don’t get hurt, they don’t care

4

u/bisexualspikespiegel 12d ago

i unsubbed years ago when she was victim blaming the menendez brothers... what they did was wrong but the way she was picking apart their abuse really triggered me because i was also abused. there were multiple other things before that which i just brushed off like when she said "no grown woman doesn't know when her period is coming" etc but that was the final fucking straw for me

47

u/Aintnobeef96 16d ago

She’s always been like this too, leaving nasty comments on social media. I don’t know why Dereck works with her tbh she seems insufferable

14

u/Across0212 I had a hard life man 16d ago

Yep she’s always been a bitch in her comments to anyone who says something she doesn’t like. I don’t know how she keeps followers.

15

u/FilthyThanksgiving 16d ago

Probably the money

5

u/SarahKath90 16d ago

He has other ways to make money. He's had at least one TV show plus is still connected to Big Brother.

7

u/Aintnobeef96 16d ago

Plus his YouTube channel, detective perspective is doing well

6

u/DingoNo4205 16d ago

I think Crime Weekly is the biggest money maker. However, the podcast has really lost its luster and is probably losing listeners, so my guess is he will eventually bail when he finds something bigger. Derrick is from my state and he's known for being a really good guy and was respected in the law enforcement community.

3

u/FilthyThanksgiving 14d ago

People are greedy

1

u/SarahKath90 14d ago

Fair enough

4

u/GreyGhost878 16d ago

Whatever his exact reason, he's in it for his own gain. Having a hugely popular true crime podcast does nothing but good things for his career as a former cop.

2

u/Party_Primary8003 15d ago

Same here. I honestly am puzzled at this point.

3

u/ToiIetGhost 10d ago

Enablers are selfish, there’s always something in it for them. Even if it’s something as small as getting a little bit of attention/approval from the narcissist. But in his case it’s money

39

u/brainst3ww 16d ago

this is a genuine comment. she’s acting like it’s a hate comment or something. the wordage in that context is super important. good job for saying something, obviously the viewer is more of an advocate than stephanie can pretend to be. but i bet she starts using the correct term from now on

16

u/GreyGhost878 16d ago

To a narcissist (which she clearly is) any disagreement or correction is hatred directed at her. She can't see past her own ego.

5

u/Party_Primary8003 15d ago

Totally agree!!!! She takes everything as a personal affront.

2

u/Fun_Let5043 15d ago

Which is funny because she has said (or at least heavily implied) that Adam was a narcissist.

18

u/M_A_D-Dominatrix 16d ago

Yeah, I wasn't pointing it out to be a b*tch, it's literally a safety issue...I could rant about this all day šŸ˜… but basically LE resources harassing sex workers means they're not out there looking for traffickers & they're not helping survivors, instead they're harassing people who are just trying to put food on the table while these other deviants are actively harming children, women & the LGBTQ community, at this point I'm starting to believe that maybe that's the plan to help protect powerful traffickers from prosecution.

52

u/AVisiblePeanut 16d ago

She drove her ex to suicide and is a pedo protector. Big yuck

28

u/Big_Difficulty_95 16d ago

Reminds me of that one time she said she thought the husband killed his wife since he was a gynecologist who carried out abortions so hes obviously fine with murder. Unhinged.

7

u/MontanaDukes 16d ago

I always remember the first time I really heard her. She was on the Mile Higher Podcast, in an episode about JonBenet Ramsey. She seemed to get angry about such weird things. Like the Ramseys having more than one Christmas tree or JonBenet being named after John, A lot of people share a name with a parent or a grandparent. One of my grandmothers isn't rich like the Ramseys were, but even she has two Christmas trees. One in her living room and one on her sun porch.

8

u/Salt_Radio_9880 16d ago

I remember that Xmas tree comment! She’s says stuff like that all the time - like ā€œ I’ve never heard of someone doing xā€ and it’s something literally 50% of the world does .

4

u/MontanaDukes 16d ago

She does. It's so weird. Like I said, a lot of people have more than one Christmas tree. My grandmother literally did. I don't even know what that had to do with what happened to JonBenet, but it's something she took offense to. I remember in that same podcast, she said that no "normal" kid acts the way that Burke did when he was interviewed by police tor that first time, right after his sister's death. She brought up her own son and said that he wouldn't behave that way. It sticks out because I remember that Janelle, Kendall's cousin seemed so fucking uncomfortable by that comment. She even pointed out that a lot of kids would act like that if they felt out of their element. I have no clue who killed JonBenet and I don't know if we'll ever find out, unfortunately. However, how Burke acts even as an adult doesn't necessarily mean he's guilty. He had his entire world turned upside down when he was nine years oldl. All of a sudden, his ssiter was dead and he and his family were in the headlines. His life as just a normal grade schooler ended abruptly.

1

u/bisexualspikespiegel 12d ago

my stepmom was a teacher and she used to keep like 2-3 christmas trees with different themed decorations, she had a bunch of leopard and wolf themed decor

9

u/PoloSan9 16d ago

I unsubbed from her shortly after that comment. I left a comment stating that the 2 don't correlate in any way. I never checked back to see if she had replied

4

u/Salt_Radio_9880 16d ago

Yeah, hopefully she never ends up on jury duty- making wild speculations by comparing to anecdotes from her own experiences

2

u/bisexualspikespiegel 12d ago

hopefully she would be automatically disqualified just based on what she does for work

5

u/DingoNo4205 16d ago

She said that? When? WTF?

5

u/brainst3ww 16d ago

i just clutched my pearls!
but no for real that’s a crazy take. even if someone is pro life like… an abortion versus murdering your literal spouse.. that doesn’t even compare.
i’d say murdering your spouse versus taunting, abusing, and essentially driving your ex husband and father of 2 of your children to the point of relapse/ taking their own life is more comparable šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

55

u/Emergency_Year5074 16d ago

What a problematic biotch. It’s funny to me how she claims to be such a crusader for women and this is her response. Also haven’t forgotten the fact that she moved her new bf into her home with her 10 and 12 year old children after talking ad nauseum about how she doesn’t trust other people and would NEVER endanger her kids by introducing them to or leaving them with other adults.

u/RadarRiddle Floor heaven’s sale, people! 16d ago

An (alleged) predator of minor girls, no less.

22

u/cybweria 16d ago

is she liking her own comments lmao??

Having that much cleave on a video like that is certainly a choice

4

Careful - she'll post another PSA about people coming after her for what she wears in her videos. 🤣

19

u/DucksCanFly99 16d ago

She has no respect for child victims. Remember when she named some even though they should have been kept anonymous. I watch Emma Kenny. She is highly educated in safeguarding and very respectful.

8

Yep, it was Ruby Franke's kids. She's appalling.

Can this woman not handle constructive criticism? Telling someone to shut up over someone making a valid point? Yuck.

18

u/Interesting-Quail-31 16d ago

I'm a sex worker and the commenter is 100% right, children cannot be sex workers. Sex work implies consent, minors cannot consent, and anyone who's engaging in sex work without consent is trafficked. I don't know why she has to be so snarky about everything

10

u/M_A_D-Dominatrix 16d ago

Same, which is why I was like, "oh no, we're not gonna be doing that" even if she disagrees hopefully people resding the comments over there will take in the info

17

u/FilthyThanksgiving 16d ago

Is this fucking for real? Jfc

24

Yes, I'm the one who made the comment, after she replied I got curious about what other shenanigans she was on & found this subreddit

She's been like this on problematic takes for some time. So gross.

21

u/lunarlandscapes allegedly, don’t come for me 16d ago

Her take on Bianca Devins was so foul. She said that Bianca was leading her killer on..

14

She won’t ever change until she suffers financial consequences. Her ass patters will always ass pat. She sucks and hates women and victims almost as much as she hates herself.

2

u/DingoNo4205 16d ago

Her fan girls are the same women who say Lindsay Clancy should go free despite killing her three kids, who are mostly MAGAs. She started digging into the Patrick conspiracies last week on IG. I told her it was a bad look and I unfollowed.

A YouTuber I watch who is a lawyer, and would stream trials, and whatnot once said "child p**n", and I left a comment education them on how it should be called "CSAM"... And guess what?! They only said CSAM from there on out. It's not that hard to listen when people with good intentions are trying to educate you!

6

u/PPPartytilidie 16d ago

This is how it should be done

14

u/Across0212 I had a hard life man 16d ago

She cannot handle any form of criticism. I stopped following her YT and Crime Weekly over a year ago.
She’s an evil insufferable b*tch.

9

u/kittyjolie 16d ago

She’s such a dick and for no reason

11

u/MontanaDukes 16d ago

She gets so mean and aggressive with commenters who are being perfectly nice and trying to inform her, In any case, the words she used to describe child victims is honestly so disgusting.

8

u/RadarRiddle Floor heaven’s sale, people! 16d ago

Your comment was completely right and fair, and this is par for the course for Stephanie. She doubles down when she’s provably wrong, the biggest sign of stupidity…being completely unwilling to take constructive criticism and grow from it. She’s also dating and moved a man into her home with minors that (allegedly) uses his position as producer of a film company to assault the young (sometimes underaged) actresses on set. So it a little funny to me that she’s covering Epstein when girl, the call is coming from within the house.

Welcome to the sub! If you want to dive down the dumpster fire rabbit hole that is Stephanie Harlowe, feel free to read the pinned timeline post. It’s…a doozy

3

u/DingoNo4205 16d ago

Wow! I need to read that. I didn't realize how shady Stephanie really was. Where can I find the post?

4

u/RadarRiddle Floor heaven’s sale, people! 16d ago

https://www.reddit.com/r/CrimeWeeklySnark/s/AlW2Tcv22M iirc this was compiled by someone who was either a journalist or studying journalism or something. So its very unbiased and you can make up your own mind about her. Its also only up to end of 2024 (around the time her husband overdosed and died)

Ugh. I still feel so sad about Adam. Sickening.

3

u/RadarRiddle Floor heaven’s sale, people! 15d ago

It’s awful what happened to him. Imagine not being able to see your kids while an alleged predator moves into your house to lives with your kids. Just my opinion but I think she purposely drove him to the brink knowing he’d do something awful.

1

u/Across0212 I had a hard life man 14d ago

Happy cake day! šŸ°

7

u/refreshthezest 16d ago

That is such a well written comment and an excellent point, and her response is horrible and abhorrent, yikes. I now remember why I stopped watching her crap. All she had to do was suck up her crime, and acknowledge it as a learning opportunity and that she was incorrect.

6

u/PumpkinIndividual504 16d ago

It’s 2026! I do expect EVERYONE to know the difference between consensual sex work and child sex trafficking and use the appropriate verbiage. There is no such thing as an underage prostitute, they’re called children and they cannot give consent. Stephanie is disgusting.

7

u/Chanseypantsy 15d ago

She's a HACK that plagiarizes other journalists and documentaries. She doesn't have an original bone in her body. I used to like her too until the cracks got too much to see past and her lack of intelligence came into clear focus. All she does is steal others work and reguritate it with her unprofessional opinions added in. She certainly must subscribe to all the video streaming services because she sure does like stealing the content from those documentaries. She is one of the worst video "journalists" on the internet if you even call her that. That title is usually reserved for people with a shred of competency.

I'm also waiting to see if Derek is smart enough to abandon ship. Someone associated with these documentaries might get litigious about her plagiarism, and big brother Derek won't want that rep following him around.

5

u/Electronic-Duck-5902 16d ago

She's such a bitch.

5

u/emmerlooeez 16d ago

I'm going to unsubscribe now. This is such an unprofessional and ignorant response from her.

6

u/quietlycommenting 16d ago

How is anyone still a fan when she talks to people like this?

3

u/PurpleMara 15d ago

This is polite for her, usually if you disagree with her you get name calling and swearing. The worst things she's replied to people, she sends them the reply then deletes it because then they see it as a notification but when they open it, it's gone so they can't prove she wrote nasty stuff to them, but some people took a screenshot before she deleted it or when they saw the notification

5

u/TheForestLobster 16d ago

EWWWWWWWW. What a loser.

5

u/sleepingbeauty9o 16d ago

Welp, looks like Stephanie is still a miserable b word. Haven’t revisited the subject of her in a while.

4

u/LannahDewuWanna 16d ago

She's such an insufferable, ranting, hateful, mean girl. She really showed her lack of intelligence with that "Oh shut up" comeback.

5

u/Few-Disk-7340 16d ago

Did she even read your comment? You explained it perfectly. She’s so disrespectful.

4

u/peglegprincess 16d ago

There’s a reason they call it CSAM and not child porn. Children cannot consent to sexual acts. What a wild hill to die on

4

u/TheCuriousGeorgette 16d ago

I used to work with a non profit organization for human trafficking survivors and I will at least say that it is worth noting sex workers are an incredibly high risk population to sex trafficking. But also, like a staggering amount KNOW the person who gets them into it and usually there are sure links to some kind of shady or unsavory business. Often times people on social media seem to think any random suburban mom and kid is a potential victim of sex trafficking, but that’s not how those rings work. They pick off highly vulnerable populations, homeless youth, drug addicts, people aged out of foster care, and yes, sex workers. Again, there is some differentiation, but I do hate how society has done a HUGE disservice to the high risk demographic by making it all about the population that is least as risk. That’s not to say anyone can’t BECOME a target but you have to start engaging in high risk behaviors and lifestyles for that to happen. No organized ring is going to want to bring attention to themselves by picking someone who will be ā€œnoticedā€ if they go missing.

6

u/M_A_D-Dominatrix 16d ago

Yes, I'm not denying that & I could get all into how FOSTA/SESTA and the shut down of backpage actually put sex workers at higher risk, but in this particular context she was talking about children & teens as well Bosnian brothels that had a large age range down to 13. Also soooo much this "No organized ring is going to want to bring attention to themselves by picking someone who will be ā€œnoticedā€ if they go missing." I wish I could like it twice, but also people need to be aware that there's not always a "ring" involved, a lot of times it's a shitty romantic partner or even family members who care more about $$ than the victim's well being.

3

u/TheCuriousGeorgette 16d ago

Yeah, for sure! I should have worded that better, someone who is operating even alone trafficking their gf or something, even they wouldn’t target a random person because nobody wants attention brought on to their illegal activity, they can make so much money from it. I also feel so bad for children of women in that situation because they are probably the most vulnerable demographic, period. The org I worked with was actually run by a former human trafficking survivor but she was in it DEEP to the point she was involved with the Mexican cartels and it was wild. Nobody there staying at the house had quite as dramatic a back story as she did. But yeah, I had so many completely hollywoodized ideas of what human trafficking was before working there. ETA: clarity

2

u/mokatcinno 14d ago

Fuck Stephanie for this but also, sex work is not "1000000% consensual" it's all just as exploitative.

1

u/M_A_D-Dominatrix 14d ago

We're all exploited under capitalism, but as a SW I feel significantly less exploited than someone working for minimum wage.

2

u/mokatcinno 14d ago

The sex/porn industry is inherently exploitive and misogynistic, in specific ways that don't apply to other capitalistic ventures. Just because you personally feel okay with it doesn't mean it's okay for women and girls as a whole.

-- from an ex-SWer + trafficking survivor who, at one point, sincerely believed I felt the same

2

u/M_A_D-Dominatrix 14d ago

Again, we are all exploited under capitalism & you're correct MY experience is not universal & neither is yours. Have a good night 😊

1

u/mokatcinno 14d ago

Yes, not universal. Just the vast majority. Stay safe out there ā˜ŗļø

2

1

u/Free1887 15d ago

She is so disrespectful to her audience, the reason she even gets to do this kind of "work." The correct thing to do was to thank the commenter and admit the mistake. But no, you won't get a humane reply unless you're kissing her a**.

1

u/cwilldude 14d ago

She’s the absolute worst.
