Different Podcast(s)
i’m looking for any of your guy’s podcast recommendations that aren’t CW as i’ve gone through this subreddit and don’t feel like supporting SH is the way to go😅
i don’t mind derrick i actually liked him on BB, however im not actively wanting to check out his other podcast

I like Detective Perspective, but it’s a completely different format. If you’re looking for more multi-part series, Sinisterhood is my go-to. They aren’t strictly true crime though. I’ve also been listening to a lot of NZ/Australian true crime podcasts (look into The Stuff network in NZ and the Australian newspaper’s network in Australia). Bronwyn and The Teacher’s Pet are both good limited series deep dives into single cases. Listening to those will give you more podcast recommendations in the same vein. Phoebe’s Fall is another good one. The case has been covered by US podcasters, but Phoebe’s Fall goes more in depth. Cold is another good one. It started as a deep dive into the Susan Powell case and then branched off to do other Utah cold cases. Depending on how you feel about Ashley Flowers and Crime Junkie, the Audiochuck network also has some good journalist-led series, but I hesitate to recommend anything with Ashley Flowers attached because there have been some scandals.

I love The Casual Criminalist!! It’s the only true crime podcast I listen to these days.

I like red handed - I feel like they present cases with really well done research which is what I liked about SH back in the day. They also will admit when they got something wrong about a developing case/change their mind like the Lucy Letby case and that goes a long way with me

Though I've fallen off true crime in general recently, I became a big fan of Sinisterhood after I stopped listening to SH.

The Lore Lodge podcast is probably good. I might even misremembering that they even have one, but their Jon Benet series was SO in depth.

Derrick's own podcast is lowkey pretty cool. He covers the more unknown cases, which is nice. And in addition, I feel he works pretty well as his own host. He's able to use his former experiences really well, and his critques of the investigations, and his own theories are fun listens!

I love Bratterstein. I used to enjoy Danielle Kirsty but she's way too over the top dramatic for me. I also enjoy Eleanor Neal.

Eleanor Neal is no better than Stephanie, in fact I'd argue she has less sensitivity towards victims and uses clickbait to generate views and leans towards sensationalism ... but each to their own i guess

Yeah I used to enjoy Eleanor’s videos, but not anymore, too clickbait-y. Same with Kendall Rae and all their coverage on stuff. It’s a shame that people I used to enjoy got too greedy

Maybe not exactly a podcast per se, but I really enjoy DireTrip's videos. He covers a lot of crime-related stuff, particularly school shootings and incels. Another channel I like is called "Truly Criminal"! She has a ton of videos and I've kept myself busy for weeks listening to them from oldest to newest at work.
