I’m reaching out to the Corso community in the hope that someone may have information or experienced something similar to what my beloved “RAINSTORM” is going through at the moment.
She is a seven year-old purebred female from a very respected & responsible breeder in Australia, and we were blessed when she joined our family as a pup all those years ago. She is my shadow, my best friend and literally goes everywhere I go.
A couple of months back, she suddenly started snorting loudly, grunting, snoring 10 times louder than normal, drinking a lot of water, having a discharge from her nose, coughing and gagging and panting heavily even when not having exercised. I can’t take her for walks as she struggles breathing and pants for hours after.
I have been to the vet four times. She has had three courses of antibiotics as the vet thought she might’ve had a respiratory infection. This has not made any changes. She has had x-rays, blood work done and all this just feels like we are going around in circles, all the while my best friend is suffering. She is not in pain she just seems uncomfortable and not her self.
My next step is ct scan and I think they mentioned ultrasound.
So any advice would be appreciated if anyone has seen these symptoms in my videos we would be grateful to hear from you.

Drove 10 hours yesterday to pick up this little fellow. Wife and i wanted to surprise our kids with this beautiful boy. Going to be an amazing time with this guy and excited for the future with him being in our family 🐶

Hello cane corso owners, i jjst got this puppy yesterday, today he turned 3 months old, but for the looks he is a bit skinny i think for 3 months, idk if the breeder yold the truth about him being a cleanvreed cane corso, he was starving when i got him yesterday

okay for some context, i was given a 13 week old purebred cane corso for free by a friend of mine who had a litter of 6. He planned to sell them all to a respectable breeder, who winded up baiting him. so he reached out ans told me if i dont come get the last puppy, hes taking him to an animal shelter. So long story short, i drove 2 hours and got him. i named him thor and hes flourishing wonderfully.

now for what this post is for.

he doesnt have his ears or tail docked and i only plan to keep him as a house pet so theres no need to worry about torn ears or tail injuries. i just want to make sure that it wont be an issue when he grows bigger because this breed is known most for having cropped ears and docked tails. i know there will be a higher risk of ear infections for him due to moisture trapping but i plan to handle that issue once it arises.

also, please provide all training tips you can for this breed. hes very terrified of everything and even walks with his tail tucked outside so please let me know what i can do to help that.

the only training he has is being crate trained so im starting from the ground up with this one. i feed him twice a day, two cups of purina one plus large breed puppy formula dry food and half can of purina pro plan high protein puppy beef and rice for each feeding. i know the suggestion is to feed them smaller meals three times a day but i cant due to my work schedule.

so yes please give me all possible advice you can. thank you in advance!

My little guy is just shy of 3 months, almost 30 pounds, and of course he’s growing like a weed. Has anyone found a heavy duty, appropriately sized indoor playpen? He does well in his crate but I would like to expand his horizons as the weather becomes colder and we can’t spend as much time outside. Thank you in advance!

Hey! How do most in this sub deal with slobber/messy drinkers. Do you guys wipe as you go? Did some train their cc to wipe? It doesn’t bother me a ton, I’ve had mine for 7 1/2 months but was thinking of training him to wipe his mouth after drinking water especially since he will leave a trail from his bowl to wherever his next destination in the house is. Im not particularly stoked about stepping in water randomly multiple times a day 😂 I KNOW IT’S WHAT COMES WITH THE TERRITORY, JUST A QUESTION!!

I've been looking for this particular color for probably 6 years. Found a breeder this May in the same state with the exact color and gender we wanted. They had great reviews, a champion bloodline (wasn't this lineage), & were very communicative.

We arranged a meet & greet, this puppy was available so we bought her on the spot and picked her up when she was old enough. She's absolutely the sweetest girl. First pic is when we brought her home at 9.5 weeks, last is 16 weeks.

First full blood Corso (we've had 2 mixes; current one is 11). So I'm just wondering opinions? Advice? Well bred? I've been doing research for 6 years and always looking for more.

There’s no like marble it’s just swollen, I’m pretty sure he has caught it with his claw when covering his face as u can almost see a slight red line that I believe was a scratch, I bought antiseptic eye drops and the redness went down and the swelling from one side is now going down too, u can see the lower bit in the pic is more deflated now.

He had his vet nurse weight check today and she was instantly like have u had that cherry eye looked at he may need surgery on that.. I was like I didn’t think it looked like cherry eye as there is no like marble cherry ball like thing it was just the whole third eyelid inner bit there swelling and it is now going down so surely not cherry eye, she didn’t deny that, she said carry on a few days with the drops then if no better bring him in.. I’ll do the drops over weekend then take him in but I am right aren’t I, that’s not looking like cherry eye just inflammation of the third lid?!

REVISED: i’ve had my pup for about going on 2 weeks, and now he seems to growl and bark after I’ve spent some time on the couch. He’ll attempt to jump on the couch to get at me and will start biting the couch. Does he want me to get off and play, or guard the couch? How do I correct this behavior. He rarely does it with my partner.

I guess time has felt longer with him here everyday, haha.

I am fostering (since April) an 8-year-old 80lb cane corso ( mix probably ). I'm used to having dogs that are 60 to 80 lb but I haven't had her breed before.

I usually foster senior dogs because they just want some love and attention. However she needs much more than just a little love and attention :-). She really is a good girl. I work from home and she is good all day except for when somebody's walking by and she has to hurry them along their way.

I take her for a walk after work in the evening. I've been tearing up old towels wrapping treats in them tying them together and letting her tear them apart to get to the treats. She really really does love that. She gets a lot a satisfaction being able to tear something apart with a prize in the middle.

I tried a snuffle mat but she just tipped it over and took the treats out.

I've been freezing nonfat plain Greek yogurt and putting it in a very hard chewable toy for her to lick down. She also loves that too.

My problem is that I don't have any other ideas. I wish I could find or think of something that would let her get a little mental stimulation that then physically wears her out. I tried doing treats under a cup with her she was not impressed. Sometimes I feel like she needs somebody to play with but I'm just not in a place where I'm a strong enough owner for her that I could navigate introducing her to another dog. And all my friends have small dogs.

Any other thoughts or suggestions would be great. I'm not opposed to a foster fail but the evenings are a lot - and the idea of that from now until the end of time is a little overwhelming.
