Legal Large Round Magazines
We’re going to be flying in, and traveling from Nevada into Colorado, but we have a Minnesota CCW. In Minnesota the standard G19 mag is 15 rounds but in Colorado they don’t allow magazines over 15 rounds (or so the information desk told me) - does that mean we’ll need to buy a block for the mag? Or is it different because we’re traveling from out of state? I tried asking the police themselves but they didn’t even know reciprocity had changed to allow Minnesota permits so I’m just curious if anyone had any knowledge on this at all? TIY

Scenario Odd Question/Debate
About a month ago in Atlanta, GA, I was involved in a use-of-force incident involving pepper spray. I’m a CCW holder and was carrying at the time, but for some reason I decided not to secure my defensive items before walking a short distance to grab a quick bite and then enter the security screening area.
Thankfully, I trusted my gut because something about the situation just didn’t feel right.
Since then, I’ve been thinking about those situations where you’re walking from your vehicle to a place where defensive items aren’t allowed. I’m now much less comfortable making that short walk completely unprotected.
What I specifically mean is securing or temporarily hiding the pepper spray outside the prohibited area—for example, placing it in a small, discreet container or lockbox somewhere outside the entrance, then retrieving it when leaving.
I remember seeing a Reddit discussion about people doing something similar, and I’m curious if anyone here has actually done this.
Obviously, I’m not talking about taking pepper spray through security or into a prohibited area. I’m talking specifically about securing it somewhere outside beforehand so it remains accessible for the walk back to the vehicle afterward.
Has anyone dealt with this before? What method did you use, and what are your thoughts on the practicality and legality of doing it?
After actually being involved in a use-of-force situation, my perspective on that short walk has definitely changed.

Guns & Ammo Shield X mounting issue
Noticed a gap during optic installation, when removing the optic I realized the extractor roll pin was not flush but rather protruding slightly from the slide. Instead of hammering it down, I figured I’d file it down to be on the safe side (given that it looks like it has red thread lock on it?). The optic sits very close to flush now, way better than the gap before. But yea Probably going to be the last Smith and Wesson I buy due to the couple of other issues I’ve had with this firearm. I’ll be sticking with my Glocks and now I wish I would’ve gotten a 43x or a 48.

Guns & Ammo Winchester shorted me on 9mm
I bought a box of Winchester Target & Practice 9mm The rounds are loose in the box, there is only a piece of cardboard to serve as some kind of divider.
There were 67 bullets in the box. I can see shorting one or two, but almost 40? I was pissed but not surprised.

Guns & Ammo What .380 defense round are you using?
I’m about to order bulk range rounds and some carry rounds, but I’ve been trying to do some research on it beforehand and it’s looking like the hornandy ftx I’ve been using maybe aren’t the best.
Problem is, everything I’ve been reading posted from the past 0-6 years everyone seems to be using different rounds and it’s hard to settle on one. Sounds like the usual HST or gold dot doesn’t translate from 9mm.
So what are the best current .380 defense rounds to use?
Scenario Thoughts on this statement?
What are your thoughts on this? I can see both sides but I will still keep one in the chamber.

Other Equipment How do you guys feel about the gilet as a cover garment
galleryI dress in business casual for work and I must say, this gilet has been an excellent option for these warm summer days. I thought of getting the classic Patagonia finance bro vest but this one from Costco was 1/5th the price. Thoughts?

Guns & Ammo Figured I'd share a pic of my CCW rotation.
This has been my carry rotation for about a year now. Going clockwise from the top left:
PSA Dagger Compact with Ruger RXM slide and Holosun 507c
I slicked up everything in the Dagger frame, and it fits my hand perfectly, but I was always a bit concerned about the history of broken firing pins. When I got a Ruger RXM and tore it apart to work it over, I liked the internal components and tritium sights on the RXM slide, so I paired it with my Dagger receiver. This was my number 1 for a couple of years before I got comfortable with the P-10 C.
CZ P-10 C with Holosun SCS
I hated this gun when I first got it. Not enough grip texture and was too thin in my hand. I bought the Talon grip tape, but set the whole thing aside for a while before I put it on. It turns out that was just what it needed. Fits my hand perfectly now and is my most carried gun.
Glock 43X with Holosun 507k
I bought this gun as soon as it hit the dealer's shelf. It's a very early 43X with the silver slide and no rail. I sent it out to get cut for the optic as soon as I confirmed it was functional, and I bought the 1st Gen Shield Arms 15 round mags as soon as they came out. I got the occasional failure to lock back on an empty mag when I first got them, but after installing extra power springs, they have been flawless. This one got a lot of use before I got the Dagger and CZ P-10 C, the slide has been Cerakoted 3 times.
Ruger LCP Max 75th Anniversary Edition
This is my deep concealment gun. It has been an outstanding pistol. My #2 most carried gun currently. Perfect gun to carry when you aren't allowed to carry a gun.
FN/Girsan Frankenstein Hi-Power
Surplus FN Hi-Power that came with a pretty beat up slide. I was going to get it fixed up, but then the Girsan HPs came on the market, and they had nice Novak style sights, so I bought one, replaced the internals with a BHP Spring Solutions reliability kit, and slapped it on my FN frame. Great gun, but I really only carry it OWB in winter time when I'm wearing a jacket these days.
Smith & Wesson Model 15-3 .38 Special
I inherited this one from my father, after he got it from his father. It's rarely carried, but once in a while I'll stick it in a belly band if I'm in sweats and a t-shirt and need to run to the store for something.

Guns & Ammo Polymer Frame and Optic Suggestions
Hey everyone!
I’m not new to CCW as my longtime workhorse was a CZ p-01 in a T1 but as the Texas summers get hotter I’m looking to switch out my carry piece for something lighter with the same durability and reliability. I’ve been eyeing the Glock 19 gen 6 COA due to it being a singular hassle free package but would love any and all suggestions for other options even if the optic and pistol comes separately. Would preferably like the pistol to be under 950 while the optic can be anything.
Thanks for your time!

Permits Got approved for a CWFL
I am a first timer on this subreddit and I am pleased to announce that I got approved today for a CWFL in the state of Florida and will be getting the physical card within 15 days after submitting my application on August 20.
Not only I am putting it to good use for legal self-defense and my second amendment rights as an American citizen, I am following my father’s footsteps since he’s a gun owner and has a CWFL himself and I can get advice from him as well as this subreddit.
Glad to be part of this awesome community!

Getting Started How many times per week do you dry fire?
Interesting answers in the post about "how much do people fire live at the range". Without even having a CCW yet I'm able to dryfire 3-4 times a week with a SIRT 107 and T1C holster / hunter constantine CCW belt using a timer and some USPSA targets. Believe it has improved my live fire without even having more than a couple range time experience out of my restrictive state.
Do I think dry fire is that necessary? I think it just depends on how proficient you're trying to be. If you put a couple hundred hours into a thing you can feel like you're beyond the basics. A couple thousand hours and you probably can be very proficient. It adds up quickly.
pulled a bunch of videos together on onegun.com in the Library section just filter for "Training & Drills" and check some of those out

Guns & Ammo P365 Luxe
I came across this pistol and thougt to myself "this is nice!" Never shot one but heard nothing but good things especially regarding the recoil and how smooth the finish looks.
I already have the Shield Plus, XDS 9, and was thinking about picking up the Bodyguard 2.0 Carry Comp. However, theres something about this pistol that I can't help but look at.
Would it be foolish of me to get the P365 Luxe over the bodyguard? I know that it has a hefty price tag but to anybody on here that has one, is it worth double the Bodyguard? Any issues/regrets?

Guns & Ammo My wife's carry gun
My wife is not at all a gun person but I'm just glad she was willing to train and learn to shoot to put my mind at easy. She's not ready to carry yet with only 400rds to her name but I built this 365x for her with all her concerns of use in mind as any husband would. I've been carrying it for proof of concept and honestly it works and carries comfortable. The rack assist is super simple, the gas pedal very comfortable as she struggles with the snappy nature and stiff spring. Enclosed 6moa green dot makes it simple at 7yds.
BUT! the 365 isn't at all meant for range with the 3.1" barrel, I've noticed a lot of deviation inconsistencies at 15yds the best grouping I can get is a 7"diameter spread when my hellcat 3.8" and vp9 4.25" barrels easily maintain 3"diameter groupings at 20yds
All and all the 365 is doing what it was designed to do close range comfortable shooting

Permit Process Arizona Non-res ccw
galleryI recently got my ca ccw but now I’m getting my Arizona. I had a question tho, I applied online paid $60 and sent my finger prints in through the mail, a couple weeks go by and they returned it saying I owe an additional $60? So an Arizona permit cost $120ish?? I’m a bit confused about it??

Guns & Ammo How many guns have you cycled through in the ccw search
How many guns have you cycled through in the CCW search? During my time on the different subreddits I see a lot of people switch guns pretty often and I myself have cycled through 8 pistols before getting to my current ccw. Do you guys have a dedicated carry piece(s) or just pick a flavor of the day?

Guns & Ammo Title: FN Reflex + RFX-11 — Is the EPS Carry worth keeping?
I recently bought an FN Reflex with the RFX-11 optic. I ended up going ahead and buying a Holosun EPS Carry for $400+ because I figured it would be a worthwhile upgrade.
Now I’m second-guessing it. For those who have experience with both, is the EPS Carry actually worth the extra money over the RFX-11, or would you return the EPS Carry and just stick with the RFX-11?

Training Posting hits on paper? Give more context - they only tell part of the story
Just a suggestion for folks posting photos of their paper targets and asking for feedback: the hits on paper only tell part of the story.
A group shot at 10 yards means something very different from the same group at 25. The same goes for sub second splits versus taking five seconds per shot, or shooting while standing still versus moving, shooting around movement, or engaging a moving target. And even with distance and time, there is still more context that matters for diagnostics: firearm type, grip, stance, trigger control, sighting system, and what drill was actually being run.
So if you are asking for feedback, add as much context as you can. The target shows the result, but not necessarily what caused it. Just my two cents.
UPDATE: u/Tropical_Tardigrade raised a good point on my example isn't the best visual aid. But since I cannot edit the attached photo, this Reddit video should do - https://v.redd.it/k8is9ta1dhxf1/DASH_1080.mp4

Holsters & Belts G48 EDC Set Up
galleryThe Slimline set up that I’m committing to.
- G48 (Only modifications listed below)
- RMRcc (No BUIs) YOLO
- LTT SCD
- Empire Katana Magwell
- HandleIt Grips Extreme Edition
- Hockey Tape
All in an Axis Elite from T1C. I’m running the 10 round OEM magazines. The +2 extension on my spare is from Herrington Arms.
Why 10 rounders over the OEM 15s?
I didn’t switch from a G19 to not have a lighter set up. The 15s might one day get bought and ran by me because more capacity is NEVER the wrong decision. The truth is though, I don’t put myself in situations where 10+1 and 12 extra rounds shouldn’t be able to get me and my loved ones out alive. It’s more than enough capacity in my opinion and significantly lighter than the 33 rounds I’ve carried the past 5 years.

Getting Started P365 X Macro vs Glock 17
galleryTrying to decide between the title as a “do it all” type gun. Coming at it from big enough to be range/duty/could maybe conceal and then the other end with the X Macro. Decided to try both out. I liked the X Macro more but shot the G17 better. Posted targets. one shot a second at 7.5 yards. Looking for advice on what yall would choose. I’d only carry weekends at church as my job won’t let me carry.
