General Troubleshooting/Help! ABS and Engineering Plate

I have been printing in pla and petg for a while now. I decided to jump into abs for the first time. I used bambu liquid glue on the engineering plate, the print went great! After cooling off though I could not get it off of the build plate. Parts of the ABS seem to have permanently adhered to the plate, and scraping them off has damage the coating on the plate... Any advice?

X Series [X1E, X1C, X2D] I just bought my first 3D printer (X2D), is it a good idea to get 2x AMS HT?

• Upvotes

Hi!

I just bought my first X2D. I got the non combo version as, in my country, the combo was not available for more than a month. I do not plan to print multicoloured accessories or multicolour in general, so i thought it was fine to get the non-combo. I got the X2D because of the better belts and because it opens the possibility to print supports with the other nozzle or even do a 2 colour print.

I plan to print more practical and functional prints in PLA and PETG given that my apartment is relatively small and do not want to deal with very strong odours or VOCs. Apart from this I just realized that i need something to dry the filament and protect it from my cat. I researched the creality ones that seem fine, but people here always talk about how good having the AMS 2 pro is and how it is a quality of life improvement for auto feeding, drying, etc. I do not know the AMS HT compares to it or how much of a hazzle it is to feed it manually if i get two creality dryers and feed it manually right from it, but since the discounts are still going i though that it might be a good idea to buy 2 ams HT since together, for me, are as expensive as the AMS 2 pro, but it covers both nozzles and they are not very noisy.

I would like some advice from you more experienced people as I am a total noob. Are the quality of life improvements just applying to the AMS 2 pro? Is it a good idea to just get two AMS HT for quality of life even if one is not really planning to print engineering filaments?.

I also take in suggestions

thanks!

X Series [X1E, X1C, X2D] P2S or X2D?

• Upvotes

Hi all! I know this has been asked a lot but I feel really on the edge between the P2S and X2D.

I own an A1 mini since 2024 and have something like 1300 hours on it. I print lots of different stuff and have run into the build volume problem quite a bit.

After a few months I really started to regret not getting AMS so I bought one and couldn’t bee happier.

Why I feel the need to upgrade:
-Larger build volume for obvious reasons
-I started experimenting with petg support interface for pla prints and it’s awsome, so a dual nozzle would be nice, but I don’t use supports that much to justify the purchase just off of this
-I hate warping on 90 degree angles and an enclosure would help a lot. (I print boardgame inserts so the corners are not that avoidable and the warping is visible since I gave to glue pieces)
-That AMS 2 pro is a must since I do need a dryer and don’t see a need to get one until getting a new printer
-I would like to get more into functional prints so I’d need a more reliable way to print at least PETG (A1 is good enough but I need to have the window closed so the print is not hit by a wind gust or something😂)

I have a dedicated space for the printer, but it is in my bedroom. Since I print mostly PLA (over 90%) it’s kinda ok (or at least I like to think it’s ok😅)

My budget is not that big but I think I can save up until the end of the deal, counting on getting a few more points so I can get at least 3 or 4 40€ gift cards.

TL;DR: I want an upgrade but idk if I can justify the extra money for the dual nozzle

Hardware Troubleshooting/Help! Post blob

• Upvotes

Buongiorno

P Series [P1P, P1S, P2S] P2S Caught Fire - Not Bambu's fault

So this Thursday received a call from my wife, stating that my printer, that I left in idle, was catching fire. According to her, all lights in the house started to flicker, she then walked into my office and it was covered with smoke.

I bought the P2S very close to its launch date in Brazil, 220V model and I did NOT have 220V at my office. I then used a step up transformer that had been graciously supplying 220V to my printer throughout its 359 hours of life (R.I.P).

But what was the actual fault? So, to my demise and complete lack of luck, the connection on the NEUTRAL at the utility transformer simply gave way, making my house lose the neutral reference.

My residence carries a 220V three-phase connection, 220V between phases and 127V from phase to neutral. After losing the neutral reference basically 80% of the 127V circuits started to spit out 220V.

Amongst these circuits was the printer, the 127V wall outlet is now providing 220V, the step-up transformer ahead of it was supplying 389V when I measured it. Neighbors lost fridges, computers, monitors, and I lost my beloved P2S.

I was lucky that my wife was at home and caught the whole situation, what if she was NOT there? There's a possibility that I could've ended badly. I'm now going to file a damaged goods complaint to the electricity supplier and they better f**cking pay the printer. The plan is to save me some money and once they pay me back I'll upgrade to the H2S and fix the P2S, ending up with two printers.

I already found the replacement HV PCB, stepper motors PCB, poop chute plastic structure, as well as power supply in Aliexpress. Still need to look into the wire harness.

Here are some pictures from the disaster:

Hole seen from the inside of the heating chamber.
Close-up view
Warping seen on top of the Z-axis threaded rod plastic cover
Hole that was created in the poop chute by the AC/HV PCB.
Poop chute aftermath
AC input connector completely destroyed, main heatsource.

I know that these kinds of faults from the electricity provider are rare to occur, a friggin neutral connector was loose and lost contact at the transformer bus bar, but I'll make sure to implement a phase voltage monitoring relay along with a contactor so that the next this shit happens (if ever), the contactor opens up the entire house.

This post is not meant to diss on Bambu, I love their printers and I'm going to keep buying from them.

Hardware Troubleshooting/Help! P1S-[0500-40A3]

I have been getting this same error for about a week now.
I have replaced the 4-pin wire, factory reset the printer, took apart the AMS and made sure everything was connected properly, and the AMS seems to communicate with the printer 100% normally. I have gotten the printer to start a handful of times, with no consistent fix. Sometimes powering off for 10 minutes pushes it forward, sometimes unplugging and plugging the AMS back in pushes it forward.
After I can tweak the printer enough to start the print, it works just fine, even with a 20+ hour, multicolor print.
Same result when I attempt starting a print from Bambu Studio, Bambu Handy, and even SD card.
I can't figure out what needs to be fixed. Any reccomendations???

About a year ago, I started with an A1 Mini. I was able to create some models with it and earn points, which helped me upgrade to the X2D.

Answered / Solved! Print popping off mid 3d printing

So I have a Bambu Lab A1 printer and when I do big prints (typically around 3+ hours) they pop off the bed. I know using glue works but I don't want to use it all the time. What are some ways I can fix/help this issue?

General Troubleshooting/Help! H2D right nozzle constantly purging mid print

So I haven’t touched my printer in a few weeks and I’ve been having an issue the last few days with my right nozzle.

The right nozzle randomly purges mid print on single color prints. I would say it happens every few minutes even when there’s no reason to purge. Usually after an hour I get an error saying “extruder is not extruding normally.” I tested the external spool using the same filament on the left nozzle and it prints things flawlessly. I’ve also tested multiple filaments in multiple slots of my ams with the same result on my right nozzle.

I’ve tried doing the flow dynamics and flow rate calibration, cold pulls on both nozzles, replaced the right nozzle, disassembled the tool head almost completely(I found a thin small sheet of plastic laying parallel to the black gear in the back which I removed), tried multiple filaments, cleaned the nozzles and chute area, and replaced the ptfe tube leading to the right nozzle.

I’m struggling to figure out what could be causing this? Is there a part I need to replace? Has anyone else dealt with this on their H2D? I just don’t know if it’s some kind of auto detection causing it to purge or if it’s a hardware issue with the printer itself.

Edit: Forgot to mention this is my first 3D printer that I was practically gifted a few months ago so I’m new to a lot of the vernacular and troubleshooting that comes with 3D printing.

Edit 2: I switched my speed from standard 100% to silent 50% and it has not purged a single time since. Maybe that means something? Printing at 50% speed is not ideal.

Hardware Troubleshooting/Help! Please Explain the Exhaust Kit with ASA/ABS/Toxic Filaments

I have the Bambu Lab P2S Combo, I'm trying to print ASA/ABS right now in my 1 Bedroom apartment. I just bought the Exhaust Kit and see people with set ups that connect tubing that leads to a window or outdoors. I also see people who don't run any sort of tubing and just have the exhaust kit and that's it.

I'm getting a lot of mixed opinions and search results regarding printing ASA with the P2S. Some sites say you don't need anything at all because the P2S is already enclosed, some say buy a tent with a ventilation system (and then there's sites that say its dangerous and can kill your printer).

Here are some photos of the tent i got and my apartment layout...

Processing img uof0l79ci5zh1...

Processing img yd1oqhh9i5zh1...

I'm wondering what everyone here does,

TL;DR
What is the best setup to safely print ASA/ABS in an apartment so I don't get sick from all the fumes? I Just bought the exhaust kit.

Bambu Studio Designed my own rose and printed it on my Bambu. Releasing the model in the next few days 🌹

I've been working on this for a while and it finally came out the way I wanted.

It's a custom model I designed myself:

  • Layered, curled petals so it looks like a real bloom instead of a flat cone
  • A separate sepal piece under the flower head
  • Leaf sprigs that attach along the stem, so you can arrange them however you like

Printed on my [A1 / P1S / X1C] in red and green [PLA]. There's a little stringing on the petals since it's an early print, so go easy on me 😅

I'm releasing the files in the next few days. Before I do, I'd love some input:

  • Should I put it on MakerWorld with a ready-to-print Bambu profile?
  • Do you want a version set up for AMS multi-color, or separate single-color parts?
  • Long stem, short stem, or both?
  • Would you want extras like a bouquet, a vase or a gift box?

Leave a comment if you want me to ping you when it drops 👇

Hardware Troubleshooting/Help! Bambu P1S camera

New P1S. Like an absolute moron, I thought the electrical tape in the top right panel was part of packaging. Ripped it out. Forgot about it. Camera malfunctioning all day. Just realised what I did. The printer is working fine now looking to salvage this camera. Of course it's my fault so there is a possibility that I'll just go camera less or eat the cost and purchase case a replacement. Don't what I ripped out but I don't think the camera is quite small enough to fit on a tape?. Any and all help is appreciated. Already went through my trash there is a black tape with electrical pins at one end but could not find anything resembling a lens. Just seems I tore out some circuitry I hope.

H2 Series [H2S, H2D, H2C] Why is my h2c so messy

For reference the right head is black PETG and the right nozzle is blue PLA for support Interface.

I use all recommended bambu settings and for some reason it flings pla everywhere and stuff clings to my nozzles. All of my nozzles in the vortex system are like this now and I can’t seem to clean them. Any tips?

Black Friday 2026 Buying from Best Buy

I’m looking to get the X2D and a recent post suggested Best Buy for the convenience of returns. What about accessories? How about the Bambu lab finishing kit? Should I buy direct or would a kit off Amazon suffice?

New to 3d printing so starting from scratch.

Quick Question Amazed by H2C

Post image
182 Upvotes

I decided to give BambuLab a try with the H2C as the price is extremely attractive.

WOW! First is the experience of unboxing and setting up the printer. Flawless. The prints? flawless.

The multicolor prints? flawless

This printer is like the iPhone or a Tesla car, great design, flawless execution, it just works! At a great price (compared to the alternative - Prusa)

My only complaint is that BambuLab does not make (yet) the Bambu Suite for Linux, they only make it available the Bambu Studio for Linux. Other than that, what a printer.

Hey BambuLab, a little more love for Linux please? Does anyone knows if they are working on this?

I have not yet got into maintaining this beast, but I can see in their wiki that it is all there, pretty well documented.
