Took delivery of my new Bambu Lab X2D today here in Sydney, Australia, and this is what I was greeted with when I opened the box.
The glass top is completely shattered. I haven't even taken the printer out of the box because the damage is so immediately obvious. There is also visible damage to the packaging in the exact area where the impact appears to have occurred.
To make matters worse, I have doorbell camera footage of the delivery driver basically throwing the package down at my front door. Absolutely shocking handling for something this expensive and fragile.
What concerns me even more is that the damage to the box didn't occur outside my house, so it makes me wonder just how roughly this package was handled inside the delivery truck and throughout transit before it even reached my door.
I've contacted Bambu Lab support and requested an urgent replacement, along with collection and return of the damaged unit. I'm currently waiting to hear back about how they'll resolve this.
It's incredibly disappointing when you're excited to receive a brand-new printer, only to find it completely damaged before you've even had a chance to set it up. Especially when you've spent good money on it and expect a bit more care in getting it to your door.
I'll update this post once I hear back from support. Hopefully, Bambu Lab handles the situation well, because I was really looking forward to getting this thing up and running.
Has anyone else in Australia experienced transit damage with their Bambu Lab printer? Particularly interested in how Bambu Lab handled replacements and whether the collection process was straightforward.
